Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

This month is nothing spectacular cosmically speaking, just the expected garden-variety lunations and Uranus stationing direct, which means for the last few days of December and into January we'll have a little over a week with all the planets in direct motion, which is somewhat unusual.  It will be interesting to see if anything worth noting comes along at that time.  Retrograde planets tend to internalize their energy with the results apparent upon stationing direct.  Given that Uranus is the planet of rebellion, explosions and freedom, it could be interesting how that's expressed.  The long-term square between Uranus and Pluto will persist quite a bit longer and undoubtedly has an influence on world events.  Pluto rules such things as power, control, corruption and the Underworld as well as anything that should be eliminated.  Thus, those two in hard aspect brings numerous clashes. 

The New Moon on December 11 will exacerbate the Uranus - Pluto square even further when Mars steps into position to form a Cardinal T-square from Libra.  T-square represent a lot of tension and Cardinal signs are inclined to take action.  Mars in Libra suggests negotiations, which could be deadlocked.  As far as Virgo is concerned, Mars is in your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts and pleasures which implies taking action on one of these areas.  Pluto is in fellow Earth sign, Capricorn, your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, entertainment, ego definition and speculation which suggests transformations are in effect in this part of your life that could be conflicting with Mars' intent.  In other words, what you want to pursue may be held back by financial issues.  Uranus is in Aries, your 8th house of transformations, shared resources, debt, things you suppress, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth.  Resisting change in this area could be part of the problem, also.  Fortunately, Mars moves quickly enough that he will break formation about a week later so this crisis is not likely to be long-term.  The lunation itself holds some promise for mitigating the issues as well.  It occurs in Sagittarius, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings.  Thus, something in this area could bring a solution for whatever that T-square is up to in your life. 

Saturn and Neptune are in a long-term square as well and could likewise be causing a few issues.  Saturn in your 4th house can force you to take responsibility, get organized and take something more seriously than you have in the past.  This is not necessarily a bad thing, depending on how much you've neglected certain things.  Saturn transits are most painful for those who have neglected their obligations and been generally irresponsible, in which case he's been known to kick some serious butt.  Neptune is in Pisces, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, cliental, competitors and open enemies.  Neptune can bring inspiration in profound insights but he can also bring delusions.  He's also the cosmic surfactant that tends to dissolve what he touches.  This suggests that whatever you might want to pull together, someone who resides in the 7th house, be it your significant other or accountant, may inadvertently sabotage your efforts.  During this transit with Neptune in this house, which is going to last for literally years (sorry) you need to be particularly attuned to deception and delusions from this part of your life.  Those of you born August 31 are particularly vulnerable to that effect at this time.

Nonetheless, Venus in Scorpio, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel, is lending a helping hand toward finding inspiration to work it through.  Jupiter is in your sign and conjunct your natal Sun if your birthday is right around September 16.  This is usually a favorable influence except you may become over-confident, take on too many projects, or be obsessed with detail, even more so than usual. 

The Full Moon on Christmas Day is in Cancer, your 11th house of goals, friends, networking, organizations, groups, hopes and wishes suggesting an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  That hostile T-square has broken up but Mars is still stirring up a few things elsewhere such as bringing unfortunate news related to a creative project or some other 5th house matter as defined above, perhaps also related to money.  For example, a project may turn out to be much more expensive than expected or you kids may bring some financial impact and so forth.  Saturn and Neptune are still duking it out but The lunation may mitigate that a little, perhaps as you complete a specific goal or connections with a group that costs money exits your life.

There's a nice sextile pattern between Jupiter, Venus and Mercury that could smooth a few things out.  This could bring some opportunities to work around that financial boot in the wallet with a new idea with money-making potential.  There are challenges out there as usual, but there is a fairly healthy mix out there this month to find solutions as this year wraps up and another comes at us.
