Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The first cosmic event to report this month is Saturn stationing direct on 2 August.  This may sound like a pretty ho-hum event, but anyone familiar with the effects of Saturn RX will be a bit more enthusiastic.  While RX, Saturn tends to slow things down to a crawl with obstacles, boundaries, limitations and delays.  Since Saturn rules government, corporations and authority figures generally and is retrograde roughly five months of every year this explains a lot.  This station takes place in your sign and will do so on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around November 21.  if that's you, this should be your last visit from Saturn for approximately 29 years.  Saturn transits are often quite difficult as you may have noticed so this is definitely cause for celebration for you.  However, don't miss the lesson implicit in the transit which is usually the need to restructure or rebuild something. 

The station chart shows that there will be a few difficulties involved, however, since nothing these days seems to be easy.  There's quite a line-up of planets in fellow Fixed Sign, Leo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status including the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus, the latter two of which are squaring Saturn.  Jupiter rules your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, comforts, needs and pleasures as well as being the traditional ruler of Pisces, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation.  These matters may present some challenges while Venus, ruler of your polar sign, Taurus, your 7th house of relationships, and ruler of Libra, your 12th house of the subconscious, spirituality, enlightenment, confinement, seclusion, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing, may be a bit troublesome as well.  Venus is currently retrograde which suggests reworking either a financial or relationship matter which could have some underlying issues at the subconscious level.  If you've been irresponsible in any manner or to anyone, then look to these areas and find a solution.  The Sun in Leo is quincunx Neptune in Pisces, suggesting the need for an adjustment or change of direction with something in your 5th house as defined earlier.  Neptune can be delusional and cloud your judgment which suggests this could be a place to look for some changes as well.

Your traditional sign ruler, Mars, is in fellow Water Sign, Cancer, which is your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, legal matters, higher learning, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation.  If you're wanting to pursue something in one of these areas, then Mars can help you do so with Saturn's help as well.  Mercury is trining Uranus suggesting that news or information about your career could bring some surprises on the job.  Uranus has been in this sign for a while now so you've probably already noticed his effects which tend to be a hectic pace, disturbances, instability and disruptions to say the least.  You could also have a need for freedom in your work and want to just quit and be a beach bum or something as opposed to reporting to work every day.

The New Moon on August 14 is in Leo, your 10th house of career and so forth which could bring something new your way.  Uranus is trining the lunation as well as Venus which suggests it will come as a surprise but hopefully a favorable one; you can't always trust Uranus because he's unpredictable by nature.  Venus RX is still looking for a re-evaluation of what your needs are and what you value the most.  Remember that it's not always about money.  Jupiter and Mercury are in Virgo, your 11th house of friends, goals, groups, hopes and wishes.  Mercury is dignified as well as exalted in Virgo, his very favorite sign of the entire zodiac, and Jupiter will expand those effects even further.  This is an excellent time to brainstorm and network to say nothing of plotting out some new and expansive goals.  Inspiration is possible but make sure you don't get too carried away and unrealistic.  This is a time to discard anything in this area that is no longer useful or working such as old goals that no longer work or perhaps group associations that are no longer serving you or even friends who are not helping you to progress but holding you back.

The Full Moon on August 29 is in Pisces, your 5th house of creativity and romance as defined earlier.  This suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  The Moon is conjunct Neptune and the Sun conjunct Jupiter, providing some additional influence.  An emotional surge of ego could get in the way of doing what you need to do which might be too extreme.  Scorpios can be obsessive so make sure you're appropriately middle-of-the-road with your decisions.  Mars and Venus, who's still retrograde, are conjunct in Leo, your 10th house of career and status.  This has relationship implications but with Venus RX it would be reworking an old relationship or possibly even pursuing one since Venus RX is traditionally the warrior goddess who dons her armor and goes after what she's wants.  This will require an adjustment such as letting go of something from the past, however, possibly old thought patterns or ideas that are holding you back.
