Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The first cosmic event worth noting this month is Saturn stationing direct on 2 August.  Since Saturn is your ruling planet, this is likely to affect you enough to notice.  Saturn stationed retrograde last March at 4:55 Sagittarius, your 12th house of dreams, visions, spirituality, your subconscious mind, enlightenment, inspiration, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  Since Saturn RX tends to operate on the subconscious level and that is also included in that house, more than likely there has been some activity going on in that venue.  Of course you may not be aware of it, at least not yet, but once Saturn goes direct whatever that lesson was should surface at which time you can start moving toward redeveloping, rebuilding or restructuring something in that part of your life.  The direct station occurs at 28:17 Scorpio, which Saturn re-entered while doing the backstroke.  This is your 11th house of friends, goals, hopes, wishes, groups, organizations and networking with the station sextile your natal Sun if your birthday is right around January 19.  This suggests that you'll be restructuring something in this part of your life.  Knowing that Cappies are ambitious by nature, this is likely to relate to your goals. 

There are likely to be a few obstacles, though, something else goats tend to take in stride.  These relate to the activity in Leo which includes the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus retrograde, the latter two of which are squaring Saturn.  Leo is your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, intense experiences and things you suppress.  This suggests that you're going to have to take care of something in this part of your life before you'll be able to move forward on that goal.  Venus and Jupiter have the reputation of being benefic planets so a square from them normally wouldn't be quite as difficult, but since Venus is retrograde this throws a different energy out there.  She stationed retrograde on July 25 in Virgo which trined your Sun if your birthday is right around December 22.  Virgo is your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation. 

Venus RX typically addresses what you value and also has implications for her natural domains of love and money.  Now that she's in your 8th house she might be getting down to some serious work.  Remember the 8th is where you sweep stuff under the rug, things you may need to confront and release, especially anything that may be holding you back from reaching or even pursuing your goals.  When Venus gets in front of the Sun again she becomes the warrior goddess as opposed to the love goddess indicating she puts on her armor and actively pursues what she wants.  If you think you have some old baggage (and who doesn't?) I highly recommend the book "The Emotion Code" by Dr. Bradley Nelson.  I read this book a few weeks ago and posted a review here if you want to check it out.  If you're someone who likes to take care of business yourself, this can help you identify and release trapped emotions that could be a problem. Considering that Venus rules Libra, your natural 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status, you may want to look there as well for anything seeming to go backwards. 

Venus also rules Taurus, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, self-expression, romance, children, entertainment and speculation which also may see some reversals or serious scrutiny.  Jupiter expands anything he touches, so that simply means this effect from Venus will be exaggerated.  Nice, right? Mars is trying to help Saturn out but he's in Cancer, sign of his fall, so not as effective as usual.  The emotional climate, however, can be beneficial for committing to what you want and also dealing with that old baggage.  Throw some meditation and serious consideration that way and inspiration will come, helping you find what it is.  Nelson's book is very helpful.  I was amazed how much I had suppressed, some of it going back to my childhood which was less than stellar.  All that aside, it's good news that Saturn is going direct so we can at least get moving again instead of feeling as if we're stuck in the mud.

The New Moon on 14 August is also in Leo, bringing additional energy and emphasis to your 8th house to help things along.  Jupiter has moved on but Mars has entered Leo, which of course he's happy to do and get out of his least favorite sign.  This is not necessarily great news for Cappies, however, since Mars transiting the 8th house can predispose you to accidents so be more careful than usual and don't take any unnecessary chances.  Uranus is trining the New Moon as well as Venus RX from Aries, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  This fits in quite nicely with releasing old baggage so this is more help along those lines.  With Jupiter and Mercury in Virgo, your 9th house of beliefs, with Mercury trining Pluto and opposing Neptune, you can expect some new insights on your beliefs and perhaps letting go of a few along the way.

The Full Moon on 29 August is in Pisces, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel.  This type of lunation suggests an ending, shift to a new phase of culmination.  Neptune is conjunct the Moon and Jupiter conjunct the Sun in Virgo so these two planets will be throwing some energy into it as well.  This looks rather favorable for inspired thought expanding your belief system.  Venus is still RX and will be until September 6.  Meanwhile, she's in Leo conjunct Mars which of course has some interesting implications, especially since some consider the 8th the house of sex.  They are quincunx Pluto in Capricorn which implies a big transformation which is likely to relate to a relationship or the 8th house in some way and bring about a significant adjustment.  This looks like a significant month with revelations and attitude changes coming your way.
