Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The Full Moon this month on April 4 is also a lunar eclipse which gives it a tremendous energy boost compared to the usual lunation.  If your birthday is right around January 5 it will have a strong effect as it will form a T-square with your natal Sun which has already been hammered of late by Pluto.  The eclipse occurs in Libra, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status while the Sun transits Aries, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  The good news is that this eclipse is fairly friendly, at least according to eclipse guru and master astrologer, Bernadette Brady.  It's likely to bring some surprises considering the Sun is conjunct Uranus which is still squaring Pluto.

A Pluto transit to your Sun tends to be life-changing and whatever he's been up to will get a major boost from this eclipse.  Having been through a Pluto transits myself a few years ago, you might want to read a blog I did around that time which you can find here.  It's been said that people seldom die during a Pluto transit though they may want to at times.  I can highly recommend "Alive and Well with Pluto" by Bil Tierney which has some excellent insights.  Having Saturn, your sign ruler, slogging along through your 12th house probably isn't doing you any favors these days, either.  This is the house of spirituality, enlightenment, your subconscious mind, confinement, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-defeating behaviors.  On the positive side, he may work with Mercury to provide some useful information while Mars in your 5th house of ego definition, children, romance and entertainment may help you get a new look at yourself from a different angle which may nudge you in a slightly different direction than the one you've been maintaining.

Jupiter is heavily involved in this eclipse as well and will undoubtedly increase its effects.  He's in Leo, your 8th house of transformations, debt, shared resources, death and regeneration and other life-changing experiences, where he's about to station direct on April 8.  He does so at 12:35 Libra which is quincunx your natal Sun if your birthday is right around January 3.  A quincunx, a.k.a. inconjunct, is an inherently unstable aspect which demands an adjustment one way or the other.  When he stations, he's trining Mercury and Uranus which are in particle conjunction in Aries, your 4th house of new beginnings as defined above.  This suggests unexpected news or information which will affect your decisions.  Going after something that relates to romance, kids, or perhaps simply to feed your ego is possible, perhaps as you yield to vibes emanating from your subconscious, though you need to guard against being too idealistic or even unrealistic, though typically Capricorns don't have that problem.  Pluto and his mission for you will be heavily involved as well so pay attention to what comes up at this time since it's likely to be significant albeit challenging.

The New Moon on April 18 is also in Aries, suggesting a new beginning of some sort.  Draw from your creativity , maintain your current course, and be sure to balance logic with intuition.  If you're having some sort of confidence crisis, address it directly in a logical manner.  You maintain high expectations of yourself and may see certain endeavors as failures while others would not.  Battle those demons with some self-love and acknowledge all that you've accomplished, perhaps much more than you give yourself credit for.  In other words, cut yourself a break and don't be afraid to stretch a bit because that is how we grow and progress whereas we tend to rot if we just sit in the same spot.
