The first cosmic event worth noting this month occurs on October 4 when Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio, your polar sign and 7th house of close relationships which includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, cliental, business professionals, competitors and open enemies.  If your birthday is right around April 22 then this station occurs opposite your natal Sun which will give it a stronger influence.  This implies that this is a time to rethink or reconsider something going on with someone in this part of your life.  Mercury rules your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, comforts, needs and pleasures as well as your 5th house of creativity, romance, children, ego definition, entertainment and speculation so these areas may be involved as well.  Remember that this can be a frustrating time when electronic and mechanical devices decide to go on the fritz.  Repairs and maintenance can be appropriate taken care of at this time but buying a replacement is ill-advised.  It would be much better to rent something, especially a major appliance or, heaven forbid, a car, until into November before getting a replacement unless you want this influence to be with you for as long as you own the item. 

On the positive side, Mercury RX favors rethinking, redoing, reconsidering, revising, editing, and "re" just about everything but is not for moving forward into new territory.  This is the time when the Universe provides the right energy to correct old mistakes and rethink past decisions which may have not turned out to your liking.  Starting new endeavors should be avoided because they're not likely to pan out as expected.  For example it's pretty unlikely that something like a job interview would bring any results if conducting while Mercury is RX.  This lasts until October 25 but until Mercury reaches the zodiacal degree where he threw it into reverse on November 11 making progress is unlikely.

As the month begins and until about a third of the way through the month a Grand Fire Trine is in effect that is going to have a strong influence as well.  Ironically, it may be pushing for action but unless it fits the Mercury RX paradigm it's likely to be wasted effort.  Jupiter is in fellow Fixed Sign, Leo, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings which puts a pretty heavy emphasis on things related to your home and background as well as endings and new beginnings.  Mars in Sagittarius, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, things you suppress, sex, death and rebirth, death and shared resources, could be stirring up some things in that part of your life.  Note that Mars transiting the 8th is a time for caution since it can predispose you to accidents or similar problems.  Don't take any unnecessary chances at this time.  Jupiter rules your 8th so that brings even more influence to keep an eye on.  Uranus in Aries is the final component and this is your 12th house of angels and demons which includes spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, seclusion, confinement, dreams, visions, institutions, hidden enemies and self-defeating behaviors.  Uranus tends to cause disturbances, interruptions, disruptions and all sorts of unexpected events.  He rules such things as explosions, rebellions, breakthroughs, freedom, breaking free, innovation and technology. 

All of this spells caution in a variety of ways.  Don't invite trouble of any sort because you probably won't like the result.  This is a time to lay low and mind your p's and q's.  The square between Jupiter and Saturn is one to keep an eye on as well.  While many consider Jupiter to be lucky and benefic, I have found that he is really mostly neutral and simply inflates or exaggerates what he touches.  For example, I've seen him quite dominant in charts for massive tornados.  Saturn is not exactly friendly, either, as the Lord of Karma.  He's been making his way through your 7th house for a while which can bring more responsibility to your relationships.  It could also be payback time, especially if your birthday is right around May 10 - 15 since he'll be opposing your natal Sun during this time.  If you've been lax in meeting your responsibilities now would be a good time to rethink that and make repairs wherever possible. 

While this aspect pattern fades out as the month progresses it may nonetheless hang around longer as far as its influence is concerned due to the fact the Full Moon on October 8, which is also a lunar eclipse, hits it.  Eclipses are stronger and more long-lasting than the usual garden-variety lunation and the eclipsed Moon is conjunct Uranus.  This does occur in Aries, your 12th house, which suggests it could occur behind the scenes.  It could also be a major breakthrough from your subconscious or any number of things.  The Sun is opposing Uranus plus sextile Mars and Jupiter, but this could bring some opportunities you way with regard to your 6th house of work, service, health and pets.  Your sign ruler is there as well which may also be helpful, particularly with her in Libra, another sign she rules, thus placing her in dignity.  Mercury is still doing the backstroke in Scorpio and trining Neptune which could bring some inspiration from a friend.

The New Moon on October 23 is also an eclipse but this time a solar eclipse.  It will only be partial but visible in a narrow band that extends from Texas to Wisconsin and into Canada.  You can see a map of the eclipse path here.  If your birthday is right around April 20 this will oppose your natal Sun and have a stronger impact.  Your sign ruler, Venus, is conjunct the eclipse which could bring more benefit, especially in your 7th house of relationships.  However, bear in mind that Venus is in debility in Scorpio and thus can be possessive, obsessive, passionate and jealous, though of course these are nothing you can relate to, anyway, right?  Saturn is in Scorpio as well and still in square with Jupiter though the Grand Fire Trine has dissipated, other than any lingering effects instituted by the eclipse.  Inspiration is still available readily so be sure to seek it out.

Mercury stations direct on October 25 as noted earlier but remember you're not entirely out of the woods until November 11.  This occurs in Libra, your 6th house of work so implies a new start for something in that part of your life.  This month looks like one where you'll be dealing with a variety of things which may involve rethinking old actions and taking a new approach.  Put it to good use.
