Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The first cosmic event of note this month is Mercury stationing retrograde on October 4.  This is seldom cause for celebration since it can cause all sorts of disturbances with electronic and mechanical devices as well as communications of all varieties.  This occurs in Scorpio, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, shared resources, things you suppress, debt and intense experiences.  What this implies is rethinking or reconsidering something that lies within this part of your life.  Saturn is already in that sign suggesting it's time to restructure something in this area as well.  Eventually Mercury will backup into Libra, your 7th house of relationships, which suggests that something in this part of your life deserves some rethinking, redoing, reconsidering or revising as well.  If your birthday is right around March 23 this station will quincunx your natal Sun, suggesting a change of direction as a result.  This retrograde lasts the usual three weeks, until October 25, during which time you should refrain from purchasing any of the affected devices, signing contracts, or even starting out on a new endeavor.  Anything you pursue during this time, such as a job interview, is likely to be unproductive so bear that in mind and wait for it to pass.  If you can wait until November 11 when Mercury has once again gotten back where he started it will be even better.

All that said, remember that there are positive activities you can pursue during this time.  This is an excellent time for rethinking or redoing just about anything.  It's also an excellent time to perform repairs or maintenance activities around the house or your car.  These are pretty boring and easy to procrastinate but need to be done or else you'll pay a price for it later.  Revising, editing, and reviewing are words to keep in mind.  This is a time to look at your plans and progress and decide whether or not you're on the right track; if not, take the necessary steps to rectify it.  It doesn't have to be a frustrating or negative time unless you're resisting the energy in which chase more than likely Mercury will win.

On October 8 the Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse which gives it a lot more punch and staying power than the usual garden-variety lunation.  It occurs in your sign and will be parked on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around April 6, in which case you are likely to see something significant in your life.  Uranus is right there as well, which has probably already been messing with you a bit, perhaps nudging you to rebel or break away from something or possibly simply making you more nervous than usual or encountering constant disruptions.  Even more interesting is the Grand Fire Trine in effect since earlier in the month which includes Uranus which is then further emphasized by the eclipse.  Your sign ruler, Mars, is in Sagittarius, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, other cultures, long distance travel and relocation, and Jupiter is in Leo, your 5th house of creativity, ego, romance, entertainment, children and speculation.  This Grand Trine is tying all those things together so do the mix and match routine with all those different houses and see what comes out that applies to you.  This looks like an interesting time to say the least.  If you need additional understanding or insights then inspiration is your best bet so seek it out as needed.

On October 23 the New Moon is also a solar eclipse which occurs in Scorpio, where Mercury went retrograde on October 4.  Mercury is now in Libra, probably stirring up something in the relationship department.  Venus, the Sun, Moon and Saturn are all in Scorpio, your 8th house of transformations, and hooked up with Neptune in your 12th house of spirituality, inspiration, enlightenment, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing which can help open up the channels necessary to understand what is going on and which changes to expect in your life which have the potential for being transformational.

Mercury stations direct on October 25 as previously noted.  If your birthday is right around April 7 this occurs opposing your natal Sun which gives it extra impact.  if this is you it's possible you felt that eclipse as well so this could be an interesting time with numerous significant events happening in your life, particularly considering that Mercury has been retrograde during this time and suggesting some rethinking and redoing.  Take that to heart in whatever way applies to you and try to figure out what the Universe is trying to tell you.
