Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month should be a little quieter than last month though the fallout from those eclipses could still be out there.  Those of you with planets at 16 degrees of any sign may have seen some action as Mercury stationed direct at that degree, reactivating the Saturn - Uranus quincunx that hung around for six weeks last summer, throwing a significant quantity of energy into that zodiacal degree. Fortunately, that degree should now have some much-deserved rest.  This month has the usual lunations, Neptune stations direct and Mars conjoins Pluto in your sign, which could be interesting, especially for those of you born right around January 2.

The Full Moon on November 6 is in fellow Earth Sign, Taurus, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation.  Watch for something in this area to end, culminate or shift to a new phase.  As a fellow Cappy I expect to wrap up the 4th book in my science fiction series about that time so this fits me rather well even though it doesn't directly hit my chart.  If your birthday is right around January 5 it will trine your natal Sun giving it more influence.  Meanwhile the Sun is in Taurus' polar sign, Scorpio, your 11th house of friends, networking, groups, organizations, hopes, wishes and goals highlighting that part of your life along with Venus and your sign ruler, Saturn.  An unexpected event related to home or perhaps a sudden shift of direction is possible.  Jupiter is still transiting Leo, your 8th house of transformations, shared resources, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth and things you suppress which will tend to inflate anything related to this part of your life.

Jupiter is squaring Saturn which could place numerous obstacles in the way of getting organized and pursuing your goals.  There is much to be learned from this, particularly if you tend to take on too much at a time.  Mars and Pluto are both in Capricorn which brings a lot of ambition and power your way.  For this lunation Mars will be conjunct your natal Sun if your birthday is right around December 30.  Those of your born around January 2 already have Pluto grinding away on your natal Sun and Mars joins him on November 11.  Fortunately this will be of short duration but you may want to brace yourself for something interesting to occur at that time.  This is a lot of energy you can use to take control and move toward something you want.  As noted previously numerous times Pluto conjunct you Sun tends to be life-changing.  Mars may provide the kick needed to start toward that new direction, whatever it represents for you.

Neptune stations direct on November 16 in Pisces, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel.  If your birthday is around December 26 Neptune is sextile your natal Sun which could bring inspiration your way.  However, Neptune can have a demotivating, dreamy effect which may make it difficult to concentrate and organize your thoughts.  This should improve slightly when he stations direct but he's a very slow mover and will take a while to get out of the way.  The most interesting feature of the station chart is a yod, a.k.a. "Finger of God."  Uranus is at the eye and thus the focus in Aries, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings.  The base comprises the Moon in Virgo, your 9th house of beliefs and expectations and Mercury in Scorpio, your 11th house of friends and goals.  This smells somewhat like a new project which could also be of an intellectual nature or some other 9th house component such as legal matters, long-distance travel, other cultures, relocation, politics, religion and such.  It's likely to be heartfelt and an opportunity through a group or networking may be there to assist you.  Pluto is tied into the yod as well, bringing control and a transformational quality to bear.  Jupiter is still inflating things which suggests trying to do too much or over-estimating your abilities so bear that in mind.

The New Moon on November 22 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Sagittarius, your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, visions, seclusion, confinement, your subconscious mind, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  The lunation is squaring Neptune in your house of thoughts and ideas which could bring some confusion between your conscious and subconscious mind.  This could bring an interesting revelation or a time when you don't feel like doing a thing but daydream.  Gathering information and support from friends, peers or related to your goals is favored as you begin to take action, perhaps in a potentially life-changing direction.  Those of you born right around January 12 are most likely to notice this effect.  Toward the end of the month Pluto and Uranus form a partile (same degree) square again which may bring some disruptions.  These two badboys will be both be at 12 degrees of their respective signs from November 27 - December 27.  That also means that us Cappies will have this somewhat ominous square on our solar returns and thus carry its influence for the next year which should make it interesting to say the least.
