This month is much quieter in a cosmic sense, at least compared to the last two months.  That Cardinal Grand Cross is gradually dissipating though enough of it remains to still stir things up a bit besides cleaning up the aftermath of the last month or so.  Hopefully you escaped the worst of it unless it connected with any of your planets but at least it didn't smack you upside your natal Sun.  There were certainly enough horrific news stories worldwide that demonstrated its malefic energy.  Depending on how it hit your chart it could actually bring good things your way but in some cases it could have been too much and still resulted in a hectic pace.  In a way it's fortunate that Mars was retrograde or it probably would have been even worse. 

Some of you will have it on your solar return depending on how it's configured on your birthday which means it will be with you all year but hopefully it will bring a year of prosperity.  If you're not familiar with what a solar return is you can learn more here.  As far as your natural houses are concerned the Grand Cross planets occupy the cadent houses which are less active as a rule, typically reflecting previous preparation.  I'm talking about your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel; 6th of work, service, health and pets; 9th of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters and long-distance travel; and your 12th of spirituality, dreams, vision, subconscious mind, institutions, confinement, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  Yes, they are important, but the effects there are typically more on a mental level except for the 6th which involves your health, but even that has a strong emotional element. 

Mars stations direct on May 20 so a few of you will have him stationing direct in your solar return which will give you a burst of energy that will last all year.  Those of you with it still retrograde will probably find it a year when you don't make the usual kind of progress but may spend it learning from the past and making a few changes, or at least preparing to.  Any endeavors that didn't turn out as expected can be examined, lessons learned and then applied to future action with greater success.  If your birthday is right around April 30 Mars will be quincunx your natal Sun which strongly suggests a change of direction relative to your work, service activities or health.  This aspect will last for about a month, part of which Mars will still be retrograde.  By the time of your solar return he will be direct so the implications are you'll be preparing to make some changes for the first part and then put your plan into action after May 20th.  Expect to be busy for the entire year and probably be doing something quite different at some point than you are at the beginning.

The Full Moon on May 14 is in fellow Fixed Sign, Scorpio, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, cliental, competitors and open enemies.  If your birthday is right around May 14 this will oppose your natal Sun and is likely to bring an event or situation your way that involves one of these relationships.  A Full Moon typically indicates an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase.  Saturn is in Scorpio as well and still retrograde until July 20.  Saturn RX typically involves recognizing the need to restructure or rebuild something which in this case points toward a relationship.  His retrograde path has spanned degrees that indicate he would have opposed your Sun at some time or another if your birthday is between May 7 - 14.  Those of you on either end of that experience the station which is much stronger.  Saturn relates to responsibility, meeting your obligations, wisdom, hard lessons, maturity and tradition.  For this lunation Jupiter is trining Saturn from your 3rd house of thoughts bringing an expanded view to the subject. 

As a Fixed Sign you don't change your mind very often but this could bring additional information your way that effects a new outlook or increased understanding.  Of course you will resist this, at the subconscious level if nowhere else, but try to listen as objectively as possible.  A transformational shift in your attitude could effect change related to income, which of course ties in with that activity in your 6th house of work.  You like money and financial security and that may be the one thing that nudges you forward, along with some inspiration from a friend or the desire to move toward one of your heart-felt goals.

The New Moon on May 28 is in the sign nextdoor, i.e. Gemini, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, your physical body, comforts, needs and pleasures.  Taurus represents the 2nd house of the zodiac so this should be familiar ground.  This lunation also supports the notion of something new coming in this part of your life, especially with it trining Mars.  If you've been thinking of changing jobs this is an excellent time to do so.  Your sign ruler, Venus, has been in your 12th house encouraging you at the subconscious level while Uranus in that same venue can help you rebel against past hangups and break free from anything keeping you from pursuing your dreams.  As Johann von Goethe said many years ago, "Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.  Begin it now."
