Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month on September 5 is in Virgo, your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, goals, networking, hopes and wishes which should bring something new your way, especially if your birthday is right around November 6.  This lunation is forming several aspects with other planets which brings that energy to various parts of your life which are likely to also be involved.  This includes your modern sign ruler, Pluto, which is in one corner of a T-square involving Uranus and Jupiter.  Pluto is in you 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel which is a nice place for him.  Scorpios already tend to have a strong sense of discernment almost to the point of having x-ray vision anyway and Pluto will strengthen this significantly.  If you're in a situation where you need to get to the bottom of things, whether it involves research or some other sort of puzzle, this will lend considerable assistance.  That's the good news.  The slightly less enchanting news is that long-term square to Uranus which will be in effect on and off until 2015 with it currently "on."  Uranus is in your 6th house of work, health, service and pets where his disruptive influence may bring about a rather hectic and unsettled pace that could be quite nerve-wracking.  You may actually be the one stirring things up if you're discovering all sorts of "crap" on the job and making it known.  Pluto is all about power and control so it's possible that your communications are coming on too strong.  You might want to think about that and perhaps tone them down a bit if you find people giving you a wide berth or looking at you as if you're a rabid skunk about to strike.

So now let's add Jupiter to that mix who's in Cancer, sign of his dignity and your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, long-distance travel, legal matters, other cultures, politics, religion, and relocation.  Jupiter does nicely in Cancer where the warm, nourishing energy allows his naturally expansive nature to ebb and flow without restraint.  Since Jupiter rules your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures this sounds like a good thing.  And indeed it will be once he moves out of that T-square.  In the meantime he could function more like a buoy in a choppy bay.  Expansion of your belief systems and other 9th house matters is certainly favorable, especially considering that Jupiter rules the zodiacal 9th house and is accidentally dignified in that house where he lords over such things.  With him opposing Pluto there could be a need for balance, the usual message of that aspect.  In other words, if your thoughts are particularly Plutonian and power or control oriented then they may need some moderation before being incorporated into your belief system.  If you're finding yourself obsessing or pondering the benefits of a dictatorship then you may want to tone things down a bit there as well.  If such opinions and attitudes are being expressed in the workplace it's probably no wonder if things are a bit rocky.  So if this is the case you might want to give your behavior a close look, perhaps with some advice from someone who knows you well and will tell it like it is.

So, the good news after all that, is that the New Moon is aspecting all three planets in that T-square in what could be a helpful manner.  The trine to Pluto from your house of groups and goals may be able to help you direct that energy in a positive way toward specific aspirations or group projects.  The lunation is sextile Jupiter which can help temper those expanding beliefs or perhaps expanding knowledge into either goals or organizational work.  The quincunx from the Sun/Moon to Uranus implies a change of direction is possible there as well, as you harness these energies in a more favorable manner and deflect their energies into productive channels.  One thing that could happen here if you get involved with others is that your energy will be seen more as an ally as opposed to a foe.  Most people like to have someone who's strong and powerful on their side.  Make every effort to be a team player and those surprises at work may be more positive.  Uranus rules technology and breakthroughs and can assist in those types of endeavors as well.  If you're not already in a career field that involves investigations, audits, forensics or similar activities maybe it's worth thinking about.

Another aspect pattern active in this lunation involves your traditional ruler, Mars, as well as Saturn and Neptune.  Saturn is transiting your sign and is currently on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around the last day of October.  Saturn transits typically are somewhat difficult.  This is no big surprise given that he's considered the Lord of Karma, dispenser of hard lessons and that he represents mythological Cronos who ate his own children.  Discipline, responsibility, restrictions and boundaries are other specialties of his.  He can be the proverbial wet blanket and naysayer so if you're feeling depressed or suppressed this is likely the reason.  Mars is in fellow Fixed Sign, Leo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status.  Think about that for a moment.  You have Uranus in you house of work and Mars in your career house.  If things are crazy in this part of your life this undoubtedly is having an effect.  Mars likes to take action and lacks patience, especially in Leo, and the square to Saturn will throw all sorts of obstacles in the way.  Can you spell f-r-u-s-t-r-a-t-i-o-n?  Neptune is trying to intervene in all this, however, from your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, ego definition, entertainment and speculation.  He's in his home sign, Pisces, where he can function to full capacity.  He can be a bit delusional, unrealistic or idealistic, however, so keep an eye on that.  On the positive side he can be inspirational and provide the means to escape or keep Saturn's stresses at bay.  This calming effect in turn may help adjust Mars' energy to a steadier, less aggressive pace.

There's some correspondence going on between Venus in dignity in Libra, your 12th house of spirituality and Mercury in dignity and exaltation in your house of goals.  The 12th includes your subconscious, collective consciousness, inspiration, enlightenment, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing but it's likely that Venus in dignity will bring out the positive side of these matters.  Her subtle nudges to Mercury can bring a variety of excellent thoughts to your goals and interactions with groups and organizations.  Your subconscious is amazingly powerful and can be your greatest ally.

The Full Moon on September 19 is in fellow Water Sign, Pisces, your 5th house of creativity, children and ego development as noted earlier.  This should bring an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  This could even be something like sending your last child off to school or a romance evolving into a full-blown relationship.  Venus has entered your sign where she will have a favorable effect on how receptive others are to you.  She can even enhance your physical appearance.  She is conjunct Saturn, which should help neutralize some of his sternness, and both are also conjunct the North Node which typically indicates something new coming into your life.  This stellium is quincunx Uranus which suggests a change of course at work that comes about suddenly and opens up new door of opportunity.  More responsibility is likely.  Mars is still in your 10th house of career so remember not to come on too strong, even though the trine to Uranus suggests it may be perceived in a positive way that you're ambitious and a take-charge person.  Listen to your inner voice since Mercury in your 12th is still coaching your subconscious and guiding this process.

On September 22 the Sun goes into Libra, your 12th house of angels and demons as defined earlier.  This may be a time when you're prone to seclusion or sabotaging your own efforts through your weaknesses.  Think about other years and what has happened this time of year for clues.  Besides entering a house on your chart that has a bad reputation the Libra Ingress also marks the start of a new season as it does whenever the Sun enters one of the Cardinal Signs.  The chart for this event tends to define how the next three months will play out and is used for such things as astrometeorology as well as mundane and geopolitical astrology.  I'm not sure how much it relates to individuals so will be open to feedback regarding what you think.  Astrologers learn as much or more from what they get wrong as what they get right so feel free to comment on whether any of this fits what's going on in your life.

That said, the Libra Ingress chart has the Moon in Taurus, your 7th house of relationships which suggests emotional involvement in this part of your life.  Remember this is the house that covers your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, competitors and open enemies.  The Moon is opposing Saturn, Venus and the North Node which suggests some opposition from someone close to you with regard to something you want to do, perhaps that change of direction related to your job.  Pluto in your house of thoughts and ideas, is in a Triangle of Potential with this opposition, however, which suggests he can mitigate it, perhaps by taking control or using your deep sense of discernment.  Venus is trining Jupiter, still out there expanding your belief system and stimulating other 9th house matters which could even relate to travel or going back to school.  You may feel particularly drawn to such things at this time.  Venus is squaring Mars which suggests some challenges related to your career with these two forming a T-square with the Moon, further suggesting that relationship issue is going to involve your career.  On the positive side, there is an opportunity, even though it will take considerable effort on your part to achieve, to connect emotionally with that person and resolve that work situation.  There's also a square between Mercury, still stimulating your subconscious, and Jupiter, suggesting conflict between your beliefs and what your inner voice is trying to say. 

Neptune is unaspected in your 5th house which implies confusion and losing touch with who and what you are.  You may feel invisible or as if your opinions and needs don't matter as you try to sort out the situation and make the best possible decision.  It could also relate to delusions or illusions related to your children, romantic interests or something else related to your 5th house.  This domain also includes entertainment and speculation.  It would probably be a good idea to avoid alcohol and anything else that can fog your judgment at this time because it will simply add to the confusion.
