Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month on September 5 is in fellow Mutable sign, Virgo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status which should bring something new your way in that part of your life.  If your birthday is right around December 5 this is likely to have a stronger influence.  There's quit a few ties between this lunation and the other planets which will help distribute that energy to various other areas of your life.  Of course many tend to overlap anyway but this will facilitate it even more.  A long-term aspect out there that is stirring up a few things is the square between Uranus and Pluto.  This started over a year ago and will continue on and off until March 2015.  Thus, you can expect to see its effects for a while longer.  Pluto is in your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts and pleasures.  This house also includes your body which is your most important possession.  Pluto relates to transformations, exposing corruption so it can be eliminated, power, control and getting rid of anything you no longer need.  Think about how these two relate to your life for a moment then consider how Uranus may be aggravating the situation.

Uranus is in fellow Fire sign, Aries, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation, sometimes referred to as the "Fun" house.  Uranus relates to upsets, disturbances, surprises, rebellions, technology, uniqueness, anything unconventional, explosions and disruptions.  Needless to say this combination could have some interesting effects.  If you have children and they're rebelling you can see that this isn't helping.  If you're drawn to quirky or unusual romantic partners, this could also be involved.  Unusual or unique means for creative expression are likely as well as perhaps being even more inclined than usual to try something you've never tried before, just for fun, or perhaps speculation.  However, these endeavors may be having a detrimental effect on your finances.  It's also possible that your ego is suffering if your finances are tanked.  Some of these quirky people may also affecting your income.  At any rate, there's a conflict here that will continue for a while.

The third member of the T-square in this lunation is Jupiter in Cancer, sign of his exaltation, which is your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, things you suppress and intense experiences.  Jupiter's function is to expand and increase whatever he touches.  While he's usually recognized as a benefic planet, would the truth be known it's really simply about expansion.  If it's good it gets better, if it's bad it gets worse.  For example, I've seen Jupiter involved with the charts for severe weather events where he's squaring Mars or Pluto.  Whatever is there he inflates.  In Cancer there are no restrictions or boundaries on his energy.  Thus, his exaltation isn't necessarily a good thing, depending on what he's up to.  Fortunately, Jupiter is on his way out of this relationship so this is somewhat of a last hurrah.  Meanwhile, you need to recognize and deal with the effects.  What they are likely to be involve the potential for acquiring significant debt or getting yourself into a situation that can have life-changing implications.  You may be tempted to indulge in something that simply isn't in your best interest.  Jupiter is your sign ruler and thus has a strong influence on you but in this case he may not be your friend.

The good news is that this lunation does mitigate the effects somewhat.  It's possible that your career or status will intervene and turn these circumstances to your favor.  Maybe your reputation, assuming it's a good one, will help in some way.  Maybe you'll still get that big loan but it will have a low interest rate and manageable.  No telling, but it looks as if it can provide some relief.  The New Moon can bring about a change of direction related to something in your 5th house, whether it's your ego, children, romance or entertainment choices, maybe even your speculative activities.  This help will be most likely for those of you born on December 5. 

Another aspect pattern worth noting in this lunation chart is one that involves Mars, Saturn and Neptune.  Mars is in fellow Fire sign, Leo, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher education, other cultures, long-distance travel, relocation and philosophy of life.  Mars' presence implies taking action on something in that area, i.e. having the drive and energy to pursue it.  However, this may be easier said than done because there's something holding you back.  That "something" is likely to be Saturn hanging out in your 12th house.  This includes dreams, visions, enlightenment, inspiration, spirituality, your subconscious, the collective consciousness, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  Saturn is a wet blanket as it is and not known as the Lord of Karma for nothing.  He's the author of hard lessons and will get in your face with regard to responsibility and meeting your obligations.  He can also institute delays and enforce boundaries.  He does have a positive side in that he encourages structure and building, ambition and perseverance. 

However, in your 12th house he may be demoralizing and restrictive.  You may want to pursue something in your 9th house such as going back to school or taking a trip abroad while Saturn tells you all the reasons that's impossible.  However, there may be hope via Neptune in Pisces, sign of his rulership, and your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  Neptune is all about inspiration and is the natural ruler of the 12th house so the trine between the King of the Deep and Saturn may balance out to a reasonable solution.  It may cause a change to your original intent, yet this may not be a bad thing if it was an all or nothing scenario where something is better than nothing.

The Full Moon on September 19 is in Pisces, your 4th house as defined above.  This suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  The Sun is finishing his trek through your 10th house of career and status which should have been helpful as well for defining where you're going with that part of your life.  Pluto and Uranus are still squaring each other but Jupiter has moved on.  However, Jupiter is squaring Mercury in your 11th house of goals, friends, organizations, groups, hopes and wishes where he could be over-inflating things and setting you up for disappointment.  Saturn has been joined in your 12th house by Venus and the North Node.  Venus tends to bring some luck along and the North Node typically indicates something new coming into your life, perhaps as a result of some self-discipline.  Saturn in the 12th is a favorable transit for structuring your spiritual life perhaps by taking a yoga or tai chi class or getting into meditation.  These practices can help you draw answers from your subconscious or higher power. This may bring a favorable change of direction to your creativity or self-expression, situation with your children or romantic interest or speculative activities which will ultimately benefit your ambitions related to your beliefs, going back to school or whatever you have going in the 9th.  Saturn can also help you deal with that financial issue, perhaps by instilling strong discipline at the subconscious level.

On September 22 the Sun enters Libra which marks the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the vernal equinox in the Southern.  Whenever the Sun enters a Cardinal sign it's the beginning of a new season with the astrological chart for that event offering hints toward what the energy will be like for the coming three months.  These Ingress Charts are used in astrometeorology (astrological weather prediction such as that found in The Old Farmer's Almanac) or mundane and geopolitical astrology.  Whether or not they apply to individuals I frankly do not know but I'm curious about it.  I always welcome feedback but especially in this case because if I'm all wet I'd like to know.  According to the Libra Ingress chart here's what it looks like will be prevailing themes for Sagittarians.

This chart has a new T-square which will actually be rather brief except for being preserved in the chart in that it includes the fast-moving Moon along with Mars and that group comprising Saturn, Venus and the North Node in your 12th.  The Moon in you 6th house suggests emotional issues related to your work, health, service activities or pets.  Mars is still in your 9th house of beliefs and expectations as well as higher learning and so forth, but it looks as if something such as your job is interfering.  If you're currently in school, for example, perhaps you'll realize that you really don't like what you're studying and don't expect to get the satisfaction from it that you'd hoped.  Saturn, Venus and the North Node meanwhile are sending out bulletins from your subconscious that further conflict with these issues.  Maybe this is where that alarm system is originating from.  As disruptive as it may be, it's worth paying attention to because if you're on the wrong path then something needs to change or you'll be sorry later.  Pluto in your 2nd house may lend a hand in figuring this out.  Remember that the 2nd isn't just money, it's also your needs and comforts.  This also has a bearing on emotional satisfaction so he may actually help identify what needs to be done.  Maybe you haven't been having enough fun lately to keep yourself on an even keel.  If you've been working too hard and inundated with responsibilities and obligations it's easy to put enjoying yourself at the bottom of a long list.  However, to maintain balance in your life you need a break once in a while, preferably on a regular enough basis to keep you stable and happy.  This coming season may be a time when you take a careful look at the general balance in your life, your needs at all levels, and make some key decisions regarding what needs to be done to get there.
