Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon this month is on December 13 in Sagittarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and local travel which suggests something new in this part of your life as well as a favorable time to initiate it. Mercury is in that sign as well which will bring additional mental energy to bear, especially with that opposition to Jupiter in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, philosophy of life, legal matters, religion, politics, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation. These two planets are in a condition known as mutual reception which occurs when two planets are in the sign the other rules which sets up a synergistic correspondence between them which help magnify their energy. Since your beliefs evolve from your thoughts, this looks like a time when new ones will be generated. Jupiter is also the eye of a yod that had its beginning
back in November with the Full Moon. Back then the Moon was at the eye,
Jupiter taking its place as he did the backstroke into orb. The yod is a
bit sloppy with the three components in different degrees of their respective
signs, but they will all be in the same degree interestingly enough on that
infamous date, 21 December 2012 which also happens to be the winter solstice in
the Northern Hemisphere and summer solstice in the Southern. So let's
diverge for a moment and talk about that chart, which you can see below. With Jupiter at the eye, as defined earlier, bear in mind this can either be the impetus or the result of the yod. In other words, it can go either way so bear that in mind that new ideas and beliefs could be the result or what bring about the opportunity implied by the sextile base. Saturn is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Scorpio, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. Saturn is all about structure, discipline, boundaries, delays, responsibility and authority figures to name a few. This combination thus looks as if it's time to reassess your financial situation and work out a new budget as one very likely scenario. Pluto in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, is in your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings. Pluto does a great job of dredging up information, eliminating things you no longer needs, taking control and resolving old issues, which certainly doesn't negate the seeming financial theme. If you're a workaholic and have your money under strict control already this could be about treating yourself better, learning to relax, and lightening up for the sake of your health and stress level, so don't think you're off the hook or this doesn't relate if you're the epitome of financial responsibility. Your physical body is also included in the 2nd house as your most important possession. This process could be kicked off by an unexpected event or news of some sort, probably from someone close to you, such as finding out that pregnancy test came out positive or your ex is taking you back to court for an increase in child support. It could be favorable news as well, but you get the idea. As a logical Air Sign, make sure you use that capability to sort everything out. Make sure all the facts are correct and don't be too idealistic, either. If things at work are a bit unstable, don't believe every rumor without checking it out. Note that Venus, your sign ruler, is also in your 2nd house for this lunation which could bring a variety of situations your way given that she's unaspected. The Full Moon on December 28 is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. Bear in mind that "status" includes a plethora of possibilities, basically including just about anything you might post to Facebook. That yod is still in effect until the roughly the end of December, giving you plenty of time to use its energy to figure things out. The Sun has moved into Capricorn and may further illuminate what needs to be done either on the home front or as far as a new beginning is concerned. Saturn is in a triangle of potential with the lunation which can help bring the needed emotional commitment to set out on a new path. Mars is unaspected in Aquarius which could bring some action as well from your creative side. Being the end of the year, this is an excellent time to use the concept of New Year's resolutions, even if you only write down a few goals for the coming year. That at least programs your subconscious and puts the Universe on notice that they are things you intend to give some attention to in 2013. |

If you know a little about astrology you can readily see that this chart doesn't
look as if it has the energy you'd expect of a catastrophic solar flare or
asteroid impact. It looks as if it could contain a revelation or shift of
consciousness, but doesn't look nearly as ominous as some of the charts I've
seen for hurricanes or tornadoes. This is not to say that apocalyptic
events will never happen, only that it's not likely they'll occur on December
21. That said, let's get back to the New Moon.
