Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month is a lot less intense than the last two have been, at least as far as cosmic activity is concerned.  Other than the usual lunations the main thing to note is Mars stationed direct on May 20, which most of you will welcome.  It will square you natal Sun if your birthday is right around December 31 and could bring a kick-off of action in your career or status.  If things have felt stuck or as if you couldn't make progress this was probably the culprit so in theory at least an improvement should come at this time.  I, for one, am definitely looking forward to it.  If your birthday is right around January 4 Pluto is parked on your Sun and you are also one of those who was hit in the headlights by that Cardinal Grand Cross last month.  You are probably still digging your way out of that one, whatever it brought your way, but the intensity should be a bit less at this point. 

The Full Moon on May 14 is in Scorpio, your 11th house of friends, networking, goals, hopes, wishes, groups, and organizations, suggesting an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase in this part of your life.  Saturn, your sign ruler, is in that same house and still retrograde, which will last until July 20.  This typically brings a snail's pace, obstacles and a sense that things aren't working.  This is a time to rebuild and restructure so if you haven't done anything yet in this part of your life you might want to think about it now.  Feel free to think outside the box and be creative as that may be exactly what needs to be done.  If things finally break loose in your career or status, probably in a slightly different direction, then setting some goals early-on can assure you don't stray off the track if events and situations start coming at you too rapidly for you to think through and require you to simply react.  A business associate, close friend or even your significant other may have some good advice in this area that will be worth listening to.  Don't dismiss anything that seems like inspiration because it's probably what you're looking for.  Your home life may be more hectic than usual and keep you occupied but there should be some benefits there as well.

The New Moon on May 28 is in Gemini, your 6th house of work, health, service, daily activities and pets.  This implies something new coming your way in this part of your life, which ties in with the implications for career or status changes suggested by the Full Moon and an increase in activity there.  New beginnings are favored with opportunities that should meet your expectations.  Watch for a cycle that continually calls for tweaks and course changes, however.  You are likely to find that you didn't have all the information you needed to make a sound decision which necessitates a new direction.  Whatever difficulties come along will be a challenge but they will handle them just fine, as you always do, and will gain positive, career-enhancing attention as a result so stay the course.

If your birthday is right around January 10 Jupiter is opposing your natal Sun which suggests expansion in your relationships.  Meeting new people, lots of networking and personal benefit can result from this time.  It may be hectic with too much to do but keeping everything organized, especially all those business cards you'll be collecting, will be helpful later when you want to hunt those people down.  All this work may not show tangible benefits immediately, especially considering that your last solar return probably had a few things in there that aren't helping, but the results will eventually come, even if it takes several months for them to show up.  Now is not the time to get discouraged, rather develop a firm vision of where you want to be a year from now and then lean in that direction.
