Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month there is so much cosmic activity that it's nearly mind-boggling.  Not only are there three lunations to look at but two retrograde stations, one which involves your sign ruler, Mars, which only occurs approximately every 26 months (on average) and the other Saturn.  In addition Jupiter stations direct and of course this month the Sun goes into your sign, marking the equinox and a new season.  So let's see what's going on and how it's likely to affect Rams.

The New Moon on March 1 is in Pisces, your 12th house of dreams, visions, inspiration, your subconscious mind, enlightenment, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  The lunation is conjunct Neptune, Pisces' ruler, giving it a whole lot of woowoo energy that may leave you a bit dazed and confused, especially as your sign ruler, Mars, stations this same day.  You may find yourself particularly drawn to memories or a strong desire to be around your family.  If you've been hard-driven careerwise which has kept you away from home, you may find this to be involved as well.  For example, if you suddenly have to travel for work or spend a lot of time at the office this could keep you from being with family for an important event but the good news is that the New Moon may be able to bring some inspiration your way with regard to how to deal with it.  Of course attending your daughter's wedding via Skype is far from the ideal, but it would be better than nothing if it comes to that. If your birthday is right around March 31 this is likely to be more pronounced and could bring a few surprises as well considering that Uranus is parked on your natal Sun.  This is likely to be a time full of disruptions and a generally erratic pace.

Now I want you to remember all that as I start adding more that relates to Mars stationing retrograde.  Since this occurs about 8 hours later the charts are very much the same other than slight movement by the Sun and Moon.  While the chart for a New Moon is usually only in effect until the next one a month later, the retrograde station chart will be in effect the entire retrograde period.  At this point you should go here and read some background information on Mars retrograde and what that cycle comprises.  There are some important dates there that you should put on your calendar now for future reference.  One date that isn't included there is when Mars first trined the Sun, which occurred on February 14, i.e. Valentine's Day.  At that time you may have been overwhelmed with enthusiasm for something that is likely to fall flat when Mars stations RX.  This could involve a relationship, money or your career in some way.  You may have thought you found your soulmate or the Mother Lode only to find that pursuing it isn't going to be as simple as you'd hoped.

Mars is stationing RX in Libra, your polar sign and 7th house of close relationships which includes your significant other, business partners, business professionals, close friends and relatives, competitors and open enemies.  This is already the sign of his debility where his unilateral, driven energy is bogged down enough by others.  Now the energy not only turns passive-aggressive but generally grinds to a not so screeching halt.  News and information about your goals are likely to have a transformational effect over the coming months, not only due to Mars but Saturn as well, who stations RX March 2.  Between the two of them you may feel as if the Universe has put all progress in Pause Mode, which indeed they have.

Saturn's station reinforces all this with one possible advantage over Mars' in that the Moon has just barely slipped into your sign.  This at least supports your emotional nature and will help provide some of the energy and drive you need to slog through the coming months.  Surprises and conflicts between home and career are likely to hang in there for quite a while but the answers are lurking in your subconscious and can be brought to the surface through inspiration.  Note that Saturn retrograde tends to operate at the subconscious level stirring up something that needs to be restructured which in your case is likely to have a transformational effect given Saturn is in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, intense experiences, debt and shared resources as well as things you suppress.  Once Saturn goes direct whatever this happens to be is likely to become apparent so you can do something about addressing it.  This will be right around July 21.  Then by the time Saturn exits his shadow period around the end of October you should have everything taken care of.  This, of course, implies that it's going to be slow-going for a while with Saturn typically bringing delays and obstacles while retrograde and since he rules your 10th house of career, status, reputation and public image and is the traditional ruler of Aquarius, your 11th house of goals and friends, they will be affected as well.  Given that Mars is in your 7th of relationships, this could be suggesting career or status changes that will also involve them in some way.

On March 6 Jupiter stations direct in Cancer, your 4th house of home environment, memories, new beginnings and such.  Jupiter retrograde often relates to ethics or philosophical issues and once he goes direct his normal expansive nature comes back into play.  Whatever is going on has numerous challenges but tuning into your subconscious and seeking inspiration is one place to seek respite.  Transformation change related to your goals and income are likely to have a strong emotional element attached and you're likely to don your armor and fight against much of what is going on around you.  Patience may not be your forte but trying to muster some from wherever you can may make a big difference in how well and effectively you deal with this time to say nothing of your blood pressure.  Expanding issues at home may conflict with power plays in your career, either your own or someone else's, and breaking free from both may be your fondest desire but not likely to happen anytime soon.

The Full Moon on March 16 is in Virgo, your 6th house of work, health and pets.  A Full Moon usually bring an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase.  If your birthday is right around April 16 this lunation will quincunx your natal Sun and call for a change of course unless you can justify your position.  A quincunx is an uncomfortable and somewhat unpredictable aspect that demands attention and some sort of adjustment that is difficult to predict.  There are several involved with this lunation implying it could be a somewhat difficult and decision-ridden time which is also going to tie back to Mars RX.

The Sun enters your sign on March 20 with these conflicts still operating.  Mars is unaspected, making him a bit of a wildcard that doesn't give clear direction.  Drawing from past experience on an intuitive level may be one way to deal with any situations that arise.  Unexpected events continue but an opportunity is out there as well, perhaps through a female friend or associate.  The New Moon on March 30 is in your sign and on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around March 30.  This lunation is conjunct Uranus, however, which introduces a strong element of surprise and conflict, particularly between home and career or starting anew.  Pluto has been transiting Capricorn, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status for several years and will be there for several more.  Pluto has various influences that relate to power, control, elimination and exposure of corruption at all levels.  Having an obsessive need for control or being around people who do is likely as well as all sorts of covert situations and possible corruption.  Consider that Capricorn rules government and corporations and take a look around you for a plethora of Plutonian influences.  These entities are grabbing power wherever they can even while the corruption within is being exposed on a regular basis.  On the positive side, Pluto is also about healing and rebirth after any corruption is eliminated, somewhat like lancing a boil or removing an abscess.  Gathering the facts, trusting your intuition and restructuring your goals accordingly are all themes at this time.
