Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon occurs in your sign and will be parked on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around January 11.  This type of lunation typically brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase and will most likely be at the personal level.  The Sun is in Cancer, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships, so this part of your life will probably be involved as well.  Remember that this house is not only your significant other but also business partners, clients, business professionals, close friends and relatives, competitors and open enemies.  The Sun/Moon opposition, which of course is the definition of a Full Moon, forms a fairly sloppy Grand Cross with Mars and Uranus but it's unlikely this will influence you direction since their degree difference precludes it unless you happen to have other planets at those degrees.  If your birthday is right around January 14 then mars is squaring your Sun from your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status which could bring a challenge moving forward with something in that part of your life.  If your birthday is right around January 7 then Uranus is squaring your Sun from your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings which could bring a sudden change.  This is further reinforced by a partile (same degree) quincunx from Uranus to Saturn, your sign ruler, who comes out of retrograde on July 21.

Saturn is in your 11th house of goals, friends, networking, groups, organizations, hopes and wishes and has been retrograde since March.  If you felt as if you haven't made much discernible progress since then, this is probably why.  While Saturn is retrograde he typically is operating at the subconscious level, urging you to restructure something.  As he goes direct, whatever this happens to be becomes apparent, if it hasn't already, and you can begin to make progress again and you make any needed changes.  Depending on your situation, this could relate to any of those 11th house items.  Uranus implies you may have to break away from something or make a rather dramatic change in order for this to happen.  If friends or groups are taking up too much of your time to accomplish your heartfelt goals, then it may be time to walk away.  It could also be a time for a fresh start in a slightly different direction.  Remember you're doing some restructuring and this may be part of it.  This aspect is going to be around for quite a while, approximately until around the end of August, so this isn't going to happen overnight.

If your birthday is right around January 3 then Pluto is sitting on your natal Sun which is a long-term, often grueling transit that will change your life.  I went through this myself a few years ago. You might want to take a few moments to read this blog I did a while back called Ponderings on Pluto.  It's not very long so you need to read to the end where I tie in the analogy which may not be obvious up to that point.  If life is kicking your butt right now, I highly recommend it.  I wrote it three years ago and just reread it and I must say it's pretty good, if I do say so myself.  Like Han Solo, sometimes I amaze even myself.  As a fellow Cappy, I'm sure you understand.

The New Moon on July 26 is in Leo, your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, shared resources, debt, things you suppress and intense experiences.  Jupiter is snuggled up to the lunation, giving it additional punch, along with a square to Mars.  With the Sun in the sign of his dignity and Mars in a sign he ruled prior to being subjugated by Pluto this is likely to be quite powerful.  Mars has just barely gone into your 11th house of friends and goals where Saturn is.  This suggests that taking action on a goal is going to encounter some resistance due to the need for a major change of heart, transformational change or result from some sort of 8th house event.  This house is one of significant intensity and not to be taken lightly.  I find it a bit intimidating since the lunation is in partile quincunx to my natal Sun. 

Mercury and Venus are now both in Cancer, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships as defined above.  Those of you born around January 2 are now hosting Pluto and Venus is opposing him which suggests old baggage that involves relationships.  Of course none of us are dealing with anything like that, are we?  Mercury in that house will help facilitate communications or thought as needed to help work things through.  Remember, also, that the Saturn aspect described earlier as well is still hanging in there so this transformation is likely to relate to what's needed to make those changes as well.  Bon chance.  Looks like an interesting month for me as well.
