A New Moon greets the new year in what could manifest as a cosmic explosion, particularly for Cardinal signs such as Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  This lunation is in your polar sign, Capricorn, which represents your 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and business professionals with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis.  A New Moon typically brings something (or someone) new into your life or perhaps begins a new phase with someone your already know.  This lunation is tied in with numerous other planets and energies, however, which will give it a unique character.  Both Mercury and Pluto are also in Capricorn and conjunct the Sun/Moon pair which suggests information coming your way that relates to the past.  Pluto can indicate the need to eliminate something or someone but he can just as easily indicate the revitalization of an existing relationship.  This quartet is tied in with Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in your sign and Mars in Libra as well, forming a Cardinal Grand Cross which comprises a lot of tension and conflicting energies.  If your birthday is right around July 3 this lunation opposes your natal Sun, making it more likely you will see something important transpire as a result.

Uranus in Aries, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status, is squaring the New Moon which brings the potential for sudden change.  He rules rebellion, innovation, breakthroughs, unexpected events and is generally quite unpredictable.  Whatever this New Moon brings is likely to include something in or from this part of your life, perhaps resistance to a career change from someone close to you.  Opposing Uranus is Mars in Libra, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings.  Mars brings a lot of energy and drive but that will be toned down a bit in Libra which will polish off some of his rough edges and bring a bit more consideration for others as well.  An opposition usually indicates the need for balance so whatever is going on in your career or status needs to be balanced with activity on the homefront or perhaps be factored in with anything you're trying to accomplish. 

These two are further influenced by Jupiter in your sign, even though the aspect is not as tight as the others.  If your birthday is right around July 8 he is parked on your natal Sun which suggests your efforts toward self-improvement or pursuing some worthy goal are a major focus at this time.  Thus, if there's a lot going on in these other parts of your life, your own goals and ambitions may be compromised or you may be wondering if what you're trying to accomplish is worth the extra effort.  The one favorable aspect in this lunation chart, a trine between Jupiter and Saturn, suggests that you should hang in there.
