Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month there is only one lunation to report on, a Full Moon on February 14, which is Valentine's Day in several parts of the world.  This has various interesting implications falling on this day when many people's thoughts turn to romance and those they love.  However, I'll get to that after first going over something that occurs before that, i.e. Mercury stationing retrograde on February 6.  As always this is not a time when you should buy anything such as a car, major appliance or electronic device since Mercury rules such things and it's likely to not function as it should.  I know if such an item dies, which is also rather typical for this time when they are under stress, you would do better to wait if possible or if not consider renting one until Mercury goes direct the end of the month.  You will probably be much happier in the long run if you do.  I can sympathize with your situation since I had a fridge go out one time during Mercury Rx and since I live 15 miles from a grocery store shopping daily really wasn't on my agenda.  I lived out of an ice chest for a couple weeks, which was not much fun, to say the least, but was possible.  A day or to after Mercury went direct I bought a new one but probably should have waited until the shadow period was over because the fridge, while it seems to function okay, makes some mighty strange noises as if it's haunted and the freezer handle has a real propensity for falling off.  Just sayin'.

Mercury stations this time at 03:20 Pisces, sign of his debility and fall meaning that his hardline logic and fact-ridden function is greatly compromised in this intuitive, dreamy and intuitive environment which is further enhanced by a conjunction to Neptune, Pisces' ruler.  This cosmic event will quincunx your natal Sun if your birthday is right around September 26; a quincunx is an aspect that typically demands a change of direction or adjustment of some sort unless you can justify your current position.  What you can hope for is that Mercury will be infused with inspiration and insight previously missed by accessing your subconscious mind.  Making time and place for an environment conducive to accessing such information would help facilitate this benefit.  As an Air Sign, you also tend to be logical and may be prone to making decisions with your head more than your heart, depending on your Moon sign.  This often can backfire because more often than not your heart is away of things your conscious mind isn't so this may be the time to listen up. 

Your sign ruler, Venus, just came out of retrograde in fellow Cardinal sign, Capricorn, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  She is cozied up with Pluto who's in that same sign for the long haul with the intent of transforming something in your life.  Venus' retrograde message usually relates to identifying what you value then putting on your armor to go after what you want, fighting for it if necessary.  I know fighting for anything isn't something that Libra wants to do particularly, but the good news is that Venus will lend a cosmic helping hand, particularly since she's in cahoots with the Moon in your 8th house of transformations.  It looks as if it's time for a major change or at least to start thinking about it, particularly if you're not happy with your existing job. 

This is not to say that this will be a cake walk.  However, once you define what you want it will be easier and as a Cardinal sign taking the lead is not entirely foreign to your makeup.  Obstacles related to money or financial obligations are likely and you also may lack the confidence needed but that might be what all that transformational activity might be all about.  You probably tend to acquiesce to those around you before going after what you want.  While it's certainly a virtue to be considerate of others it will backfire eventually if you never stand up for what you want.  Your happiness is just as important as anyone else's, within reason, of course.  This is obviously not to say that neglecting your children so you can pursue an acting career in Hollywood is a good move but if that's your heart's desire then you will figure out a way to do it where everyone is happy and supports you for a change.  That should give you something to think about so let's move on to the Full Moon.

The Full Moon on February 14 is in Leo, your 11th house of friends, groups, networking, goals, hopes and wishes.  This fits in beautifully to shifting to a new phase with something in this part of your life.  Of course with regard to Valentine's Day the significance of a Full Moon has a strong bearing as an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase.  Some will start a new romance, others will end one and those who become officially engaged or married certainly are shifting to a new phase.  However, for those who may specifically plan to do so on this particular day which is considered romantic don't actually have a very good chart to do so.  They will have numerous challenges, to say the least.   For you, it's time to take a close look at who you are and how you present yourself to others.  Mercury has backed up enough at this point to be in Aquarius, a fellow Air Sign, so he will now operate in a more logical and even detached way as you map out your goals.  If all you see are obstacles you might want to talk about it with someone close to you, taking the lead to express what you want to do.  Present it in the right way and they'll get behind you and lend assistance. 

Much of this is likely to relate to your career, either expanding the one you have or perhaps going after something entirely different.  Making this so is going to involve a definite transformation that is likely to involve your entire household.  For example, if you decide to go back to school.  You may encounter some strong opposition from someone close to you, especially if your birthday is right around October 4.  At the least it will involve some disruptions to a relationship and perhaps some innovative means to make things work.  Now is where the rubber hits the proverbial road and you will need to hold your ground and push for what you want and not just roll over as you may have done in the past.  If you stand up for yourself when you haven't before you are likely to surprise a few people and you'll definitely find out who your true friends are as well as those who care about you.  This is where all that transformational energy comes in.  Use it or lose it.
