Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This is a month is likely to be a busy one, especially for Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn) as that infamous Grand Cross moves into place, sandwiched between an Lunar and Solar Eclipse.  First I want to remind you that Mars opposes the Sun on April 8, something noted last time as potentially significant with regard to Mars' retrograde cycle currently underway.  This could be when you discover you've been going in the wrong direction with something and finally call things to a halt so you can start undoing, backing up, or whatever is required to rectify the situation.  If you've felt a lot of inertia, lack of motivation, even apathy toward what you need to do then Mars in reverse is likely the reason, especially in your sign and even more so if he's conjunct your Natal Sun, which will be the case if your birthday is right around October 12.  In fact, those of you born between October 3 - 21 will have that condition at some time or another between now and May 20 when he goes direct, so if your get up and go, got up and went, now you know why.

Pluto stations retrograde on April 14, something that happens every year but this time it has a bit more significance since it ties into various other upcoming events.  When a planet stations it's standing still astrologically which means it's dumping a whole lot of energy into that particular degree.  Thus, if that degree has meaning in your Natal chart you are more likely to feel it plus the effects will be prolonged.  When this is one of the bad boys, like Pluto, this is not exactly something you'll want to celebrate.  If your birthday is right around October 7, this event is going to square your Natal Sun from your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and beginnings.  In fact, Pluto has been at 13 degrees Capricorn since February 26 and will be there until June 4, so needless to say you'll have plenty of time to figure out what he's trying to tell you.  Now the reason this is more relevant for other stations is that Pluto is holding down on of the corners of that upcoming Grand Cross which means even more energy is going into that as well.  Furthermore, about eight hours after he stations, there will be a Lunar Eclipse which will thus also include that extra blast.

As you probably already know, eclipses have a considerable amount of staying power.  While the usual garden variety lunation mostly comes and goes an eclipse can be felt before it actually happens or even several months afterward.  Of course by that time it's long forgotten and not likely to be associated with the situation, but if the eclipse contacts your chart it's quite likely that it's going to show up sooner or later.  This eclipse also takes place in your sign and will conjoin your Natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 19.  Lunar eclipses are often operative on the emotional plane so see what comes along at this time.  Note that your sign ruler, Venus, is trining Jupiter, which is certainly favorable.  This has career implications which look quite good given that both planets are in the signs of their exaltation.  That's the good news.  The bad news is what that Grand Cross may be stirring up in the meantime.  But before I get into that, also note that Uranus and Mercury are partile conjunct (same degree) which suggests some surprising or disruptive news coming your way from your 7th house of relationships.  Remember that this includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, cliental, competitors and open enemies, so anyone that fits one of those categories may surprise you with something around this time.  But remember it may be delayed.  And Uranus is another corner of that Grand Cross.

The Grand Cross is partile with all four planets in 13 degrees of their respective signs on April 22.  These don't happen that often involving the outer planets so astrologers have been anticipating it for quite a long time.  Making it even more interesting is the fact that the natal Sun of the USA is at 13 degrees Cancer and thus conjunct Jupiter while Vladimir Putin's Sun is 13 degrees Libra conjunct retrograde Mars.  Needless to say this has some very interesting implications that I won't go into here, but don't be surprised if something interesting occurs around this time.  And of course remember that Pluto is operating on steroids and the eclipse gave this aspect a pretty good blast as well.  With four planets all conflicting with one another, three of them overtly malefic and Jupiter pumping up the energy there is no telling what will come about. 

If your birthday is right around October 7 you may want to lay as low as possible on that day.  Drive defensively if you must go out at all and don't take any unnecessary chances.  It's possible that the various things that have been going on in your life and may seem out of control may all clash at this time.  Pluto is up to something as far as your home environment is concerned or some other 4th house element as defined above.  Uranus in your relationships house is full of disruptions and surprises while Jupiter has been helping you expand your career in some way.  There probably aren't enough hours in the day as it is to addresses them all, either mentally or physically, and Mars retrograde in your house of personality now has you stuck in neutral.  Librans tend to be indecisive anyway and this is definitely not going to help the situation.

Nonetheless, there are a few favorable aspects as well.  The Moon in your 5th house of ego and creativity may help you get in touch with your emotions which can possibly help with decisions.  Venus is trining Saturn which can also help.  Venus is in Pisces, sign of her exaltation where she operates at her very best, and she is in your house of work, health and pets.  Saturn is in your 2nd house of possessions, income, needs, comforts and pleasures where he is stirring up what you really need as far as financial and emotional security.  Mixing this with Venus in your house of work may also be of assistance making some decisions there.  This could be a day when everything blows up (hopefully in a figurative sense only) and you are able to make some decisions.  In my experience indecision is one of the most stressful places to be.  Once you decide and commit to it you can at least move forward, even though the time probably isn't right for that yet with Mars RX.  He goes direct next month so that gives you some time to get your ducks in a row.

Another eclipse, this time of the solar variety, occurs on April 29.  This will be visible in part of central Australia in a path down to Melbourne, then out into the ocean, across the tip of Antarctica and then back into the ocean.  It occurs in Taurus, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, intense experiences, things you suppress, and shared resources.  The Sun/Moon are conjunct Mercury which is trining Pluto which implies you can receive some powerful thoughts relative to whatever is going on in your 4th house of home environment or perhaps those endings and beginnings, memories or whatever.  Income and job issues are still favored as well as a good chance for inspiration to give you a helping hand.  This is likely to point toward a change of direction which might just clarify what Mars RX has been all about and help you define a new sense of direction.
