Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month's New Moon is on the 15th in fellow Air Sign, Libra, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, religion, politics, foreign travel and relocation.  Be on the lookout for something new in one of those areas.  This is an excellent time to pursue learning in just about any discipline but especially one which affects your view of life, which of course can be "book learning" or simply opening your mind to new ideas and experiences.  This is the sign where you develop and express life as you see and perceive it.  For those of you with birthdays right around February 11 this lunation will trine your natal Sun, thus increasing its effects.

Most of the aspects accompanying this lunation are relatively friendly with the exception of the ongoing Pluto - Uranus square.  There's not much that can be done about that and has been addressed previously so I won't bore you with repetition.  Previous monthly horoscopes are available if you're new to this website or need to refresh your memory.  Basically Pluto is in your 12th house and Uranus in your 3rd, the houses of spirituality and thought respectively which is actually quite compatible with this New Moon and the concept of stretching your intellect.  Other matters relevant to those houses can be found in the above links, provided you're reading this on the website. 

There's a square between Venus and Jupiter to consider.  Venus is in Virgo, your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, sex, debt, shared resources and other people's money while Jupiter is in Gemini, another Air Sign, and your 5th of ego definition, creativity, romance, entertainment and speculation.  Jupiter is in debility in this sign which tends to make him over-extend himself and take on too much.  Jupiter in your house of ego can obviously bring over-confidence as well.  However, both Venus and Jupiter are considered benefic planets so usually about the worst they can do is that very thing, thinking you're better, smarter or more capable that you really are. 

This placement can be conducive to romance, which you may have already figured out.  The caution here is that it may not be nearly as good as it may appear so caution is advised.  Don't jump in too deep too fast or you may be sorry later.  Venus is in fall in Virgo where she tends to take on that sign's critical nature and attention to detail.  This may be a good thing and sanity check if Jupiter gets out of hand.  Mercury is tied in with both Venus and Jupiter which is also helpful.  Mercury is the natural ruler of thought and communication and in his current placement can go quite deep and benefit from Scorpio's depth and intuition.  Thus, if you make an effort to think things through and consider all the facts you should do okay.  Keyword here is "think."

Saturn is trining Neptune which is a bit of an "odd couple" aspect given these two are rather antithetical yet in a harmonious trine have the potential to work nicely together.  Saturn is all about structure and Neptune about imagination.  Neptune is in dignity in Pisces so is functioning at full capacity.  Saturn in Scorpio, which he has just entered, will be imbued with considerable perception and passion which can certainly be motivating for building something.  Pisces is your 2nd house of possessions, income, finances, needs and pleasures and Scorpio is your 10th of career, reputation, status and public image so it's easy to see how this could relate to building financial security.  Use this aspect, which will be in force for a while since both are outer planets which move slowly, to work on that part of your life. 

Mars is in Sagittarius, your 11th house of friends, networking, groups and goals and Aquarians' natural domain.  This suggests that taking action is favored in this part of your life, which comes quite naturally.  The trine to Uranus in Aries not only at least temporarily mitigates the square to Pluto but provides energy for brainstorming with others in an innovative way which can promote new or existing goals.  Overall this is a rather favorable lunation which you would do well to exploit.

The Full Moon on October 29 is in fellow Fixed Sign, Taurus, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots and endings/new beginnings.  If your birthday is right around January 26 it will form a T-square with your natal Sun which could bring a few challenges or conflicts which in their simplest form are likely to relate to home and career.  In other words you may find you need to spend a lot of time and energy working, especially with responsible Saturn in your 10th house, while your heart may be drawn toward home and family.  This is a time to emphasize quality time and make the most of what you've got.

Mercury has joined Mars in Sagittarius, your 11th house of friends, groups and goals, facilitating communications and information in that realm.  Note, however, that Mercury and Neptune are squared off which necessitates a warning that not everything you come across is based in reality.  You may be prone to wishful thinking and thus be more gullible than usual.  It's okay to think and dream big but don't do anything rash without proper evidence.  Venus is tied in with these two from Libra, which she rules, making her influence unpolluted. Venus can therefore mediate things such that you can find the middle ground, possibly through discussing the matter with someone close to you.  Venus is in wide but viable opposition to Uranus, good for helping control acting too quickly on something you may regret.  Changes and adjustments will be required all around to make things work. As noted earlier Libra is your 9th house of knowledge and learning so listen to what she has to say.  Mercury is in debility in Sagittarius and tends to jump all over the place as far as big ideas are concerned without regard to all the things involved to make it so.
