Lunations and Long Term Aspects

The New Moon this month on the 13th in Scorpio is also a solar eclipse though it will only visible in parts of northeast Australia and part of the South Pacific.  Eclipses are lunations on steroids and have a much more powerful and long-lasting effect.  Scorpio is your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, and shared resources so watch for something of noticeable import to come you way in that part of your life.  If your birthday is right around April 11 the eclipse forms a quincunx with your natal Sun and is likely to be more powerful.  The degree of the eclipse will remain a sensitive point for quite a while with subsequent transits to that point having the potential to trigger events.

This eclipse also has three unaspected planets which tend to be wildcards.  You can appreciate the concept of acting independently with no outside interference and that is what an unaspected planet can do.  It is not attached to any other planets and thus can do its own thing which can span the entire spectrum of its energies.  One of these planets is Jupiter, in debility in Gemini, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel.  This placement is easily equated to TMI, or too much information.  Jupiter expands whatever it touches and is prone to exaggeration and so you may find yourself bombarded with information, ideas, or activities with neighbors or siblings.  The second planet is Venus in dignity in Libra, your 7th house of relationships.  This could bring all sorts of interesting people your way, particularly if your birthday is right around April 9th.

Last and not least is your sign ruler, Mars, in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, your 9th house of higher learning, long distance travel, other cultures, legal matters, beliefs and expectations, politics, religion and relocation.  Mars unaspected can really activate your impulsive nature on one hand and on the other, give you no motivation whatsoever.  The drive often comes from your subconscious.  You may also find that you are more resistant than ever to being told what to do.  Be careful with any promises you make at this time because you may find that later you simply don't want to do it.  You may also find that people react to you in an unfavorable way because they may perceive you as aggressive, though Aries often encounter this anyway.  This aspect will be strongest for those of you born right around April 17.

The Uranus - Pluto square is still in effect, though no longer exact which helps a little, but speaking of Uranus, he is parked on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around March 25.  This can cause increased nervousness and erratic behavior, a strong sense of rebellion or the need for freedom and breaking free of any restrictive forces.  It can also result in flashes of brilliance and innovation.  If you've been trying to manifest your dreams or inspiration that is favored but may require a change of direction before it can be achieved.

Note that Mercury has one of his infamous retrograde periods this month.  He stations RX on November 6, election day in the USA, which could really mess things up.  This occurred in 2000 and certainly made for some interesting situations at that time so it's highly likely this one will be a fiasco as well with controversy and so forth over such things as communications, counting the votes, etc.  The usual advice applies for not buying anything electronic or mechanical during that time which could be a bit of a nuisance with regard to your holiday shopping.  Mercury goes direct on November 25 but the shadow period doesn't end until December 15 so if you have to indulge in any Mercury-sensitive items be sure and keep the receipt or seriously consider that extended warranty.  Mercury RX is a time to reconsider and redo, also, which will start in your 9th house of philosophical matters then back into your 8th of transformations so you may find your beliefs about something undergoing revision.

The Full Moon on November 28 is a lunar eclipse in Gemini, your 3rd house of thoughts and such as described above.  Jupiter is in wide but viable conjunction with the Moon which is likely to further expand this energy which will have an emotional flavor.  There are two unaspected planets, Mercury in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces.  Mercury in Scorpio is likely to cause a lot of mental activity that will probably relate to changing your beliefs about something as noted for the retrograde period.  Neptune in dignity in Pisces is dreaminess to the max with this your 12th house of enlightenment, spirituality, insights, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  This could be a favorable time for some down-time for deep contemplation and meditation with regard to what you really want.

This eclipse also contains two yods, a.k.a. a Finger of God or as I call them the Flying, Fickle Finger of Fate, a term you may recognize from the old 60s TV show, "Laugh-In."  Yods are destabilizing and typically point toward something that needs to change.  The eye of the first yod comprises two planets, Saturn and Venus, both in Scorpio which again points toward some sort of transformation or other 8th house matter, which is already being highly activated.  The simplest interpretation of this conjunction is responsibility or structure with regard to a relationship(s) and/or finances.  If there is something amiss in this part of you life, this is telling you to make the necessary adjustments.  The base of the yod is Uranus in your sign and the Moon and Jupiter in Gemini.  It's possible that these two may provide a whole lot of emotional energy and motivation to make a sudden or unexpected move toward that change.

The second yod is a double yod which also incorporates Jupiter and the Moon, this time at the eye, making all that emotional energy the focus.  The base comprises Saturn and Venus, the eye of the other yod, and then adds in Pluto and Mars in partile conjunction in Capricorn, bringing in something related to what could be an unresolved issue from your past that relates to your status and the impetus to take care of it at long last.  Two yods is a lot of unstable energy that can be difficult to sort through and manage but being away it's out there is always helpful for figuring out what to do.
