Lunations and Long-term Aspects Venus goes retrograde on the 15th in Gemini, your 8th house of transformations, death and regeneration, sex, debt, other people's money, shared resources and intense experiences. Since Venus is the natural ruler of money and relationships, this is likely to stir a few things up in this part of your life which have a lasting effect. If your birthday is within a day of or so of November 15 Venus will station quincunx your natal Sun, making this more influential, though all Scorpios will notice it in one way or another if you watch for it. Sometimes retrograde planets reach back into the past to something that occurred during the last retrograde period which needs to be rectified in some way. Think back to when Venus was last retrograde between October - November 2010 for ideas. Generally Venus retrograde is going to relate to love or money though it is also likely to have some influence on your 12th house of angels and demons since Libra is ruled by Venus. Your 7th house is Taurus and also ruled by Venus, so relationships are definitely included. Just as a reminder, the 12th includes your spirituality, enlightenment, transcendence, inspiration, dreams, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing as well as the collective consciousness. This house already has Saturn retrograde present which will over the next several months tend to remodel something in this part of your life as it is. This effort will receive some assistance from Venus especially since these two planets are in trine aspect, presenting a harmonious energy exchange between them. Watch for something along the lines of enlightenment about what you value in one or more relationships which has a transformational effect. Perhaps you have not putting appropriate value on the personality traits which mean the most in a relationship. Maybe you've been looking for someone with lots of money and come to the realization that there are other things of equal or perhaps even higher importance. For more information on Venus retrograde go here. The Full Moon on May 5th is in your sign and will conjoin your natal Sun if your birthday is right around November 9th. A Full Moon typically brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of operation, so watch for something that meets this description in your personal life. The Sun, which is obviously the other component of the Full Moon, is in your polar sign, Taurus, which is your 7th house of close relationships. This includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, professionals with whom you interact one-on-one such as your financial advisor, business partners and competitors. Thus, this lunation is likely to highlight someone in this category of your life whether or not your birthday is right around the 9th and then be further emphasized by Venus' retrograde cycle as described above. Thus, while this time of year when the Sun is in Taurus is already likely to highlight your relationships, this year there will be even more influence than usual. The personality of this lunation can be derived by its aspects. Venus is at the apex of an aspect pattern known as a triangle of potential. Mercury and Saturn are in opposition, which suggests the need to balance work or service activities with your inner self. Venus is the key to mitigating this conflict, perhaps as she works on your deepest values and priorities. Another one to watch lacks a name as far as I know but has interesting implications. It comprises Mars in your 11th house of friends, groups, and goals; Uranus in Aries, your house of work and service; and Pluto in Capricorn, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors. Mars, which fairly recently came out of retrograde himself, is all about action and drive which is going to be directed toward your 11th house, such as your goals. During the RX period perhaps you were re-evaluating this part of your life, or perhaps involvement with friends or organizations. Making much progress during that time may have been difficult and may also relate back two years ago to the previous retrograde period which ran from December 2009 through early March 2010. Taking action in this area is likely to derive from Pluto's action with regard to your 3rd house such as your thoughts and ideas. Pluto is your sign ruler and you know how to wield his power better than anyone. This will put your powers of discernment on steroids but could also expose some of your own secrets, of which most Scorpios have plenty. If you tie your thoughts with your goals and combine them with the energy of Pluto and Mars the implications are that you will be renovating some of your ideas and applying them to your goals. Uranus, the third planet in this planetary triumvirate, may throw a few surprises your way, however, which may upset the applecart and necessitate a change of direction. Remember that Uranus is in your 6th house of work, health, service and pets so something there could interfere with those best-laid plans of mice and men you've been entertaining. Given that Mars is also opposing Neptune, which could be introducing some degree of delusion or lack of reality to your goals in the first place, so make sure they're on solid ground as well. The New Moon in Gemini on May 20 is also a solar eclipse, giving it additional punch. It's only a partial eclipse so won't have quite as much influence as a total eclipse, but is still worth noting given that eclipses' effects can linger for months or even longer. Gemini is your 8th house as noted above and the house where Venus is doing the backstroke, providing a double whammy of influence in this part of your life. Venus is still in cahoots with Saturn solidifying something in your spiritual life or perhaps a dream or inspiration and Venus in your 8th of transformation may lend a hand to make it reality, perhaps with the help of someone close to you, who may be able to institute a change of course. Continue to keep an eye out for deception, either self-imposed or otherwise. Pluto and Uranus are in a long-term relationship which is likely to stir things up for months to come which relate to your thoughts and ideas with regard to all the unexpected events and hectic pace surrounding your work. Indeed, you may be finding out things about your job that you really don't want to know. Just remember forewarned is forearmed and whatever you may uncover is going to have a favorable bearing on your goal-setting activities. There are a few challenges out there but generally this is not what I consider an ominous eclipse, unless it happens to hit your natal chart in an unfortunate way. |
