Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month Venus goes retrograde on May 15 in Gemini, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local travel. Venus retrograde typically reflects on what you value based on her natural rulership of money, pleasures, comforts and relationships. With her presence in your 3rd house these matters will come to bear in that part of your life in some way, perhaps with one of the people who "reside" in the house or perhaps simply your thought process about it. This is a time to review your budget and priorities with regard to that part of your life if nothing else. Venus goes retrograde approximately every two years with the last occurrence between October - November 2010. Sometimes retrograde cycles bring something back for reconsideration so think about what may have been going on in your life at that time and see whether there is an encore of sorts. The Universe is a very patient tutor with bringing the lessons you need most into your life. Learning those lessons properly tend to immunize you against having to go there again regardless of whether or not a relevant transit comes along later. Thus if it turns out to be a repeat then you probably missed the point some time in the past and if it provides an entirely new experience then you have moved on. Frequently the stationing degree has relevance to how you experience a retrograde, particularly when that occurs in close aspect to one of your natal planets. If your birthday is within a day or so of April 14 the retrograde station will sextile your natal Sun which should bring positive vibes in the form of an opportunity. Her station direct in June will directly aspect your Sun if your birthday is right around March 28. More information about Venus RX can be found here. The Full Moon on May 5 is in Scorpio, your 8th house of transformations, death and regeneration, shared resources, debt, sex, and intense experiences. This should bring an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase with something in this part of your life. The Sun is in Taurus, your 2nd house of income, finances, needs and pleasures which is ruled by Venus and thus under the influence of her retrograde. Jupiter is currently transiting Taurus, at least until mid-June, which should serve to bring some good luck to this part of your life. From around May 9 - 20 be on the lookout for something good to come your way, especially the 14th. Your sign ruler, Mars, is in Virgo, gratefully out of retrograde but still in the shadow period until June 20. The shadow period represents the time when he's doing catch-up to the zodiacal degree where he stationed retrograde and begins to make true progress again. Mars also goes retrograde every two years or so and his last backstroke stint was from December 2009 through early March 2010. Think about if there is anything from that period which is coming back to be "redone" at this time. I have personally experienced that this time where two rather expensive items I bought back then are now causing me untold grief. Mars is opposing Neptune, though fortunately not for much longer. This could cause some matters at work to deal with, perhaps a lot of activity which is somewhat lacking in definition or on which you have a difficult time concentrating or maintaining focus. Mars is also involved in an aspect pattern where his energy is combining with that of Pluto and Uranus. Uranus is in your sign and if your birthday is between March 26 - 29 he will be parked on your natal Sun sometime this month. This is likely to bring a variety of surprises, possible upsets, or perhaps, given that you're an Aries, a potentially strong hard-to-ignore need for freedom. This may very well express as a need from freedom from your job, which may not be a good thing, given your impulsive nature. Pluto is in Capricorn, the sign which rules your career, and his work there will be to help you eliminate anything in that part of your life which needs to go. Given this energy exchange which involves you, your job and career, it looks likely that you may suddenly decide that your current career path is not heading in the right direction and make a sudden shift to a new direction. This could also come in the form of an unexpected job offer or you could be the initiator. Venus is in an aspect pattern known as a triangle of potential with Mercury and Saturn. Mercury is also in your sign stimulating your thought processes, especially with Venus in your house of thoughts. These are likely to be directed toward what you need. Saturn is in your polar sign, Libra, and house of close relationships. Thus this is another no-brainer energy exchange where you are likely to be considering what you need in a relationship, particularly as it applies to responsibility versus your personal freedom. With Saturn already retrograde and Venus headed that way this will not be one of those singular "Aha!" moments but rather something which evolves over time, probably at least as long as it take those two to complete their retrograde cycles. The New Moon on May 20 in Gemini is also a solar eclipse, giving it additional punch not only with regard to its intensity but also the duration of its influence which in some cases can even be a year or more. Of course it's pretty hard to remember several months hence when something occurs related to it but it's an interesting study in astrological influences to say the least. As noted earlier, Gemini is your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors so something new is highly likely to evolve in this part of your life. Jupiter and Mercury are conjunct in Taurus, your house of income and possessions, suggesting some big ideas about money. Many Aries will have multiple million dollar ideas in their lifetime which never get off the ground because while you do great at starting something finishing it up is another story. This is where a good partnership comes in, to bear that in mind. This is particularly apropos given that Jupiter and Mercury are quincunx Saturn in the 7th of partnerships which implies that you may be able to identify a suitable partner for this endeavor. Retrograde Venus is also in the mix so this isn't something that will come to immediate fruition but it would do well to pay close attention to what starts to evolve at this time. Mars and Pluto are in trine which are also favorable for setting off on a new path which involves your job and long-term career aspirations. While your imagination is always a valuable asset, make sure it's properly reined in such that it remains in the realms of reality and you should be in great shape. |
