Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The Full Moon on March 8 is in fellow Earth Sign, Virgo, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, romance, children, entertainment and speculation.  This is ordinarily the "fun house" but the Full Moon typically indicates an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase which may or may not be a good thing.  If your birthday is right around May 9 it is very likely to be a good thing because the lunation forms a Triangle of Potential with your Natal Sun.  This particular aspect pattern involves an opposition, in this case the Sun and Moon, which is mediated by a third planet which is in favorable aspect to the other two, thus providing the means to channel the energy in a beneficial way.  The Sun is in Pisces, your 11th house of friends, organizations, networking and goals, highlighting that part of your life.  With the Moon in the 5th there is some possibility here for a romance to develop from an existing friendship.  It may also present an opportunity to further your creative interests, participate in a group activity with your children, or simply manage to make the proverbial lemonade out of some lemons such as having some fun doing something that ordinarily isn't necessarily fun like a group project.

If your birthday is right around April 28 Jupiter is sitting on your Natal Sun, which should be quite beneficial for expanding your interests.  This gets even better considering that Jupiter is holding down one corner of a Grand Earth Trine which will influence everyone but especially those of you born on April 28th, give or take a day.  The other planets involved are retrograde Mars in Virgo, your 5th house as defined above, and Pluto in Capricorn, your 9th house of beliefs and expectations, higher learning, legal matters, religion, politics, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation.  These three houses are considered the Life Houses in that they reflect how you manifest yourself as far as your personality, creative expression, and beliefs are concerned.  Mars and Pluto are considered malefic, however, so bear watching or at least some attention to figure out what they're up to.

Mars retrograde in your 5th house can indicate some challenges with your kids or romantic interests.  Mars retrograde is like driving through mud and in Virgo can imply snags due to being overly critical or detail-oriented.  Redoing or reworking something is indicated, though it is possible that you won't know exactly what it is until mid-April when Mars resumes direct motion.  If you're attempting to work on a creative project you may find the going is slow if at all.  Mars provides us with energy and drive but while retrograde you can find your "get-up and go got up and went."  Pluto in your 9th suggests you may be holding on to some old beliefs or expectations that need to be re-examined and possibly discarded.  There are some real possibilities that this has to do with your kids or a romantic partner.  Also note that a Grand Trine, while comprised of what are usually considered favorable aspects, simply indicates a harmonious flow of energy between the planets.  This can be nothing more than a "do-loop," especially for a fixed sign like Taurus which isn't exactly known for open-mindedness and flexibility.  Jupiter in your 1st house could also contribute to you being on a bit of an ego trip.  While it's possible that good things could be flowing through these Life Houses, if you recognize the potential for these other matters it's time to give them serious thought.

There is another Triangle of Potential in this lunation which doesn't depend on the location of your Natal Sun.  This one comprises Venus, your Sign ruler, who is opposing retrograde Saturn in Libra, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets.  This is a rather wide and out-of-sign opposition but worth looking at given it's part of an aspect pattern.  Venus in your 1st house is a rather nice influence.  You like your comforts and with Venus there for her annual visit you will especially want to relax and indulge yourself a bit.  Saturn RX is famous for causing delays, throwing out restrictions and enforcing boundaries of all types.  This suggests that pursuing your comforts may be in conflict with either your work or health.  The restructuring nature of Saturn indicates it's a good time to do so in these areas.  You may not even fully understand this until much later when Saturn goes direct as far as something significant that needs to be restructured.  However, in the short term covered by this lunation if you happen to be on a diet, expect to be accosted by all sorts of temptations and perhaps a weaker than usual will in sticking to it.  Neptune in Pisces, sign of his dignity, may help, however.  Pisces is your 11th house of friends, groups and goals and Neptune may provide some inspiration from this sector.  Obviously if the matter is your diet, this suggests joining a group such as Weight Watchers or getting some other form of support from a friend.  If you have a creative idea for a project, delays still apply and you should still look to a friend or group to provide some insights you may have missed yourself.

The New Moon on March 22 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Aries, your 12th house of angels and demons.  This is the house of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  There is a lot of energy in Aries given the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Uranus are all currently residing there but with Mercury retrograde this may indicate something in this part of your life that you need to reconsider which could come to your attention in a sudden or unexpected way.  That Grand Trine is still in effect as well.  Retrograde Mars is opposing Neptune which could indicate some additional challenges with regard to your creative expression, ego, children or romantic partners.  Neptune can bring inspiration but also delusions or confusion, which may come through a friend.  You may also be unrealistic with something you want to accomplish and need to reconsider exactly what your goals are and whether or not they are viable.
