Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month starts out with a Lunar Eclipse on June 4, companion to the Solar Eclipse on May 20. Both are members of the 14S family of the Saros Series, explained via the eclipses link in the "Easy Reference" above. According to eclipse guru, Bernadette Brady, this family is rather friendly in that it tends to bring success to some endeavor you have been working on for a long time. If it has some unique slant now is the time to promote and push it accordingly. If this applies to you personally I wish you all the luck in the world because I, too, and hoping for some cosmic help with some of my long-term endeavors. The chart for this eclipse is not really that friendly, but of course the proverbial proof of the pudding is how it hits your various charts, whether it's your natal, secondary progressed, solar return, planet returns or, if you've moved a significant distance from your birthplace, your relocated chart, which will rearrange the ascendant and house structure and thus throw energy into different areas of your life. The eclipse takes place in your sign and will be on top of your natal Sun if your birthday is within a day or so of December 7, giving it even more punch. Think metaphorically about what an eclipse constitutes and you can see it may overshadow something of an emotional nature, something at your core. The Sun is in Gemini, your polar sign and 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors, and business professionals. Thus, this emotional situation is likely to come from someone in that part of your life, which certainly isn't uncommon or a big surprise, I'm sure. Mars is forming a T-square with the Sun/Moon system in fellow Mutable sign, Virgo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. Mars is getting ready to exit the shadow period from his recent retrograde cycle, meaning he is still putting into place a plan of action in this part of your life. Nonetheless, there is going to be some things to work out before this can occur. Bear in mind, however, that it's the challenges in life which bring out our best and help us progress. Everything cycles and a square this month in due time will progress to a harmonious trine or sextile, which typically brings an opportunity. You may simply be at a decision point. Mercury is trining Saturn in Libra, your 11th house of goals, friend, groups and organizations. Saturn is retrograde but goes direct on June 25. During his retrograde period he has been stirring things up at the subconscious level and once he goes direct whatever it is will begin to dawn on you such that you can start putting an appropriate plan in place. The trine to Mercury suggests that some good ideas can come from those close to you so discussing what you're hoping for with your loved ones is definitely encouraged. Venus is retrograde in your 7th house of relationships as well. When Venus is retrograde she changes significantly in character from the usual Goddess of Love to the Goddess of War. This is when she fights for what she wants or needs which is likely to relate to one or more relationship. Give this some thought, particularly if you've been more aware lately of how your needs are not being met. By the New Moon later this month Venus will give you some specific help on dealing with whatever this might be, most likely something you've been burying, perhaps even hiding it from yourself. A long-term aspect everyone has to deal with until the end of the year is a square between Pluto and Uranus. Pluto is in your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures, hinting at how Venus retrograde will be working with you in this part of your life. His influence will be strongest when he aspects one of your planets but he will be in Capricorn for many years so this will be an ongoing process. Uranus is in fellow Fire sign, Aries, your 5th house of ego development, creativity, entertainment, children, romance and speculation. Of course Aries is very energetic, potentially aggressive and impulsive, a volatile combination with Uranus' quirky energy which promotes surprises, unexpected events, disruptions, disturbances, breakthroughs, technology, rebellion and freedom. This will definitely be encouraging you to be yourself, to embrace your uniqueness and push away from anything holding you back. If you tend to "should" on yourself trying to conform, you will be able to shed this self-defeating behavior under this transit. If your birthday is right around November 30 you may be feeling this now. The New Moon on June 19 is again in your polar sign, Gemini, giving you a second chance at starting something new with regard to your relationships. Last month the New Moon occurred at 00:21 Gemini and this month it's at 28:43 Gemini, illustrating the 28 day lunar cycle along with the fact the Sun moves approximately one zodiacal degree per day. The New Moon trines Neptune in Pisces, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots and new beginnings. Neptune is exalted in this sign which he rules, giving him tremendous power in this venue. He can be a bit unrealistic or idealistic so use your superior intellect to bear that in mind, but fantasies are meant to be pursued just as rules are made to be broken. This thus suggests a new beginning of some sort with a relationship to bring it closer to what you want and need, especially when combined with everything else going on in the cosmos. Venus is now is full battle regalia in your house of relationships and quincunx Pluto in your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs and comforts. A quincunx typically indicates an adjustment or change of direction. This is very supportive of resolving something from the past or eliminating something hindering a relationship. Venus is sextile Uranus, encouraging you to be yourself and not be held back or inhibited. This is also an excellent aspect for creativity in general, particularly if something has been holding you back with that. Of course you may have the greatest idea in the history of the world but have to work for a living in order to support your eating habit and desire to keep a roof over your head. This could be part of what the Pluto - Uranus square is all about and something you need to figure out. Your sign ruler, Jupiter, is now in Gemini as well and squaring Neptune. This is another admonition not to be too unrealistic or idealistic, to avoid excesses in your expectations. It could also indicate that something or someone is holding you back. Take your usual philosophical approach to determine a solution. Mercury has moved into Cancer, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth, debt and shared resources and is sextile Mars and square Saturn. Mercury is about news and information which will probably have a significant and potentially transformational impact. The sextile to Mars suggests a career opportunity while the square to Saturn, still retrograde but getting ready to station direct, indicates a few delays or obstacles to be dealt with first.
