Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month starts out with a Lunar Eclipse on June 4 in Sagittarius. If your birthday is within a day or so of June 5 this eclipse will oppose your natal Sun and is also likely to fall on your Solar Return, which means its effects will be with you all year. Lunar eclipses tend to have the most effect on your emotions whereas solar eclipses tend to precipitate external events. The aspects alone indicate this not to be a particularly friendly eclipse though the real impact has to be determined by comparing it to your own natal chart. Indeed, transits which look downright hostile on their own can often be very beneficial when they interact with your chart, so you never can tell. Nonetheless, transits and lunations are what they are and do tend to have noticeable influence. Mars, ruler of your 11th house of groups, organizations, friends and goals, is in a T-square with the Sun and Moon comprising the lunation which points toward something in that part of your life which may present a challenge of some sort. The Sun is in Gemini, your natal first house, and the Moon in your 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, business partners, close friends and relatives and business professionals, making these particular people important during this time. Mars in your 4th house of home environment, memories, endings and cultural roots suggests a lot of activity in that part of your life with his rulership of your groups and goals hinting at involvement there as well. Mars, as you'll notice above, is nearly out of the shadow period of his retrograde cycle. If you've been trying to move forward with something either on the homefront or perhaps some new endeavor, you may have found yourself presented with one obstacles after another. The eclipse should bring this to a climax of sorts where you can begin to resolve once and for all what has been going on in that part of your life. By June 20, when Mars exits the retrograde shadow, you should be on your way. Venus is conjunct the Sun for the eclipse which is usually nice, but Venus is retrograde and getting ready to transit the Sun. After that she becomes the morning star as opposed to the evening star, which changes her character considerably. Indeed, as the morning star she is the Goddess of War as opposed to the Goddess of Love. As ruler of Libra, your 5th house of ego development, children, romance, creativity and entertainment and Taurus, your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, esoteric knowledge, the collective consciousness, hidden enemies and self-undoing, you can anticipate putting on your armor and defending an interest in one of these areas. Venus retrograde also tends to have an interesting effect on the world, especially in political circles. Given the various situations in the world these days on that front this will be an interesting thing to watch. Mercury is trining Saturn, a favorable aspect for communications with those residing in your 5th such as children and lovers as well as speculative activities. Saturn is retrograde, which occurs quite a bit and tends to institute delays and various boundaries. He is the planet which rules your responsibilities and obligations generally and also rules you 8th house of transformations, sex, death and regeneration, inheritances and shared resources. This is therefore a good time to open any necessary communications or data gathering activities related to these parts of your life. If you have something to say to someone or about something don't delay. The square between Pluto and Uranus is going to be operative for the rest of the year. This is one of those cosmic annoyances about which you can do little. Pluto is in 8th house of transformations and so forth as defined above and he's the natural ruler of that house so you can expect quite a bit of action. This is the house where you grow through intense experiences and also discover hidden meaning. Uranus is in Aries, your 11th house of goals, friends, and groups. Uranus rules rebellion, breakthroughs, technology, disturbances, disruptions, surprises and innovation which combined with the impulsive and energetic nature of Aries tends to create a lot of action. Therefore you can expect all sorts of activity in this part of your life which is likely to take you by surprise and serve as an experience which may have a profound effect. The New Moon on June 19 is in your sign, the second New Moon in Gemini given the Solar Eclipse on May 20 was also there. If your birthday is within a day or so of June 19 this one will conjoin your natal Sun and be with you all year as part of your solar return. The aspects with this lunation are a bit friendlier than the Lunar Eclipse but the real impact is determined, again, by how it hits your natal chart as well as all the other charts that pertain to your life, whether it's your secondary progressed, solar return, various planetary returns and so forth. Venus is still retrograde at this time and quincunx Pluto, suggesting a transformational change of direction as you stand up for something you want. This situation is likely to be triggered by the Pluto - Uranus square described above, but actually provide the opportunity you need to go in a slightly different direction. There's a nice trine from the New Moon to Neptune in your 10th house of career, reputation and public image which looks like an great opportunity to serve as an inspiration to those around you in some way or another. Jupiter, however, is squaring Neptune, suggesting that there will be a challenge involved for you to overcome, which is likely to be what inspires others. Mercury is squaring Saturn at this point from your 2nd house of finances, possessions, and income which suggests you may have to spend some money on someone or something in your 5th. Either your children or a love interest is going to cost you OR perhaps an investment may tank. On the positive side, Mercury is sextile Mars which indicates an opportunity for a new beginning of some sort, so there should be a silver lining to whatever cloud appears given a little effort on your part.
