Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month starts out with a Lunar Eclipse on June 4th, the companion to the Solar version which occurred on May 20. Both are members of the 14S family of the Saros Series which is explained more fully in the "Eclipses" section in the Easy References above. Most of you probably don't give a flip so I won't belabor it here. However, the good news is that the general character of this eclipse family per eclipse guru Bernadette Brady is that it's quite favorable for attaining success for something on which you've been laboring for a long time. If your birthday is within a day or so of April 4th you can expect a bit more punch since your Natal Sun will aspect both the Sun and Moon from a very advantageous position and put you in charge of the situation, which is exactly where you like to be. Lunar eclipses typically manifest more on the emotional plane than solar, which tend to precipitate events. This could even represent the reaction to whatever the solar eclipse brought your way. Remember, however, that the effects of eclipses are somewhat weird in that they sometimes come about BEFORE the eclipse even happens or in some cases months later, by which time you have totally forgotten about what Whobeda had to say in this horoscope. So, if you haven't seen anything yet, it doesn't mean you won't. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. That said, the eclipse occurs in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, religion, politics, long-distance travel and relocation. A metaphorical way of looking at a lunar eclipse would be of your emotional nature being overshadowed. The Moon rules your 4th house of homelife, memories and new beginnings, which are also likely to come into play. The Sun is in Gemini, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and local travel, highlighting this part of your life but perhaps something is keeping something in that part of your life from being integrated emotionally. Take a look at the 3rd/9th house polarity for something that ties the two together whether it's your thoughts' relationship to your beliefs or perhaps even a travel issue. Your sign ruler, Mars, is in Virgo, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets. He is just coming out of the shadow period from his recent retrograde cycle. This suggests that you are in the process of redoing or reworking something which will finish up around June 20, but for the purposes of your eclipse it is causing another crisis or challenge. Rams are always up for a good challenge, but this one may be uncomfortable for some reason. Mercury is also in Gemini, a nice place for him since he rules that sign, and thus is imparting you with a lot of mental activity and energy. Your thoughts should be clear and rational. He is trining Saturn, retrograde in Libra, your 7th house of relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, competitors, business partners, and business professionals. Saturn is also retrograde but will go direct June 25. Thus, if something has been hung up in that part of your life for the past several months, given that Saturn is known for instituting delays and obstacles, you may get some news pointing toward resolution in that area or possibly come up with an idea that relates. Venus is retrograde and conjunct the Sun, thus also a member of the eclipse T-square. Venus changes character entirely when retrograde, eventually becoming the Goddess of War instead of the Goddess of Love. This is when you will defend your needs and wants and rethink matters pertaining to love and money. Typically Mars-ruled Aries don't have any trouble going to battle, but this will give you even more impetus to take charge. More will show up with her for the New Moon covered below. A long-term aspect to deal with until the end of the year is the square between Pluto and Uranus. Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter, is in Capricorn, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. This suggests that your career will be experiencing a complete overhaul over the coming years. This will be most intense as Pluto squares your Natal Sun, which is currently the case if your birthday is within a day or so of March 29. If that's you, you also have Uranus sitting on your Natal Sun and you probably wonder WTF has been going on lately. All I can say is that it's a good thing that Aries thrive on excitement. You already like your independence and Uranus in your sign will put that on steroids. Thus, if you don't like your career, especially if you work for someone else, this is going to be the time that you finally break away and make some major changes. The New Moon on June 19 is in Gemini, as if there weren't enough energy there lately. This is actually the second New Moon in that sign given that it was there last time, too. On May 20, when we had the solar eclipse, it was at 00:21 Gemini and this time it's at 28:43 Gemini which illustrates the 28 day lunar cycle as well as the fact the Sun moves approximately one zodiacal degree per day. This gives you a second chance to start something new in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. The New Moon is trining Neptune in Pisces, sign of his rulership and your 12th house of dreams, fantasies, spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Now that Neptune is in that house you can expect a significant increase of action in this part of your life. The implication with the eclipse is that you may get some powerful ideas via a dream or inspiration so pay attention. For the New Moon Venus is in full battle regalia and shining bright as the Morning Star, if you care to get up and look for her. She is locked into an aspect pattern, in the same degree, with Pluto and Uranus, whom I already talked about. But now the Warrior Goddess is involved as well. She has her sword unsheathed and ready to do battle, at least mentally, with whatever is going on with Pluto dredging your house of career and Uranus inciting you to riot or at least break away from career restrictions. A change of course and new opportunities are indicated so put this energy to good use if you're in a situation you need to get away from. Mercury has moved into Cancer, your 4th house of home environment, memories and new beginnings and sextile Mars, now out of his retrograde shadow and progressing through your house of work. This will be some sort of opportunity as well, though there may be some difficulty with a relationship. This can be solved, but it will take a bit of work. Neptune is trining the New Moon, throwing lots of inspiration into your house of thoughts and ideas, but make sure it's not pure fantasy. There's a square from Neptune to Jupiter which suggests that it could be a bit far-fetched to take things too far. Most Aries tend to be a bit impulsive and impatient, so don't get carried away with some brainfart which may not have a solid basis. There are good things out there but don't trip yourself up being unrealistic. Do your best to be optimistic but still see things the way they are, not the way you want them to be. NASA Science News - Transit of VenusIt won't happen again until December 2117. On June 5th, 2012, Venus will transit the face of the sun. The best places to watch are in the mid-Pacific, but travel is not required. The historic event is widely visible around the world, including at sunset from the USA.
