Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The Full Moon on April 6 is in Libra, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources and intense, life-changing experiences.  While this can be a rather serious house, it can also be exhilarating, liberating and enlightening.  Pisceans are endowed by the Universe with astounding intuitive and often psychic powers but integrating these talents into the corporeal plane is not always easy.  It is often these 8th house experiences which bring the understanding you need to operate more comfortably in your earthly manifestation.  Typically a Full Moon brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase.  Many lunations come and go barely noticed, particularly when they don't connect with your natal chart in some way, but there is always going to be an effect the primary difference being that some are more dramatic and noticeable than others.  Considering that the Sun is in Aries, your 2nd house of finances, income, comforts, needs and pleasures you should take a look at that part of your life for something which relates to the closure represented by the Full Moon.

One long-term aspect, and when I say "long-term" I mean it will be in effect for the better part of the year, is a square between Uranus and Pluto.  These two outer planets, like Saturn and Neptune, move slowly and deliberately through the Zodiac and thus drive the themes of your life.  When two of them get together in one of these on-going configurations you can bet that there is a message and/or lesson for you in it, particularly if the degrees over which the aspects play hits one of your charts, whether it's your natal, progressed, solar or planet return.  Of course I can't cover every possible effect of this square here, especially given that Uranus is unpredictable by nature, but I can at least point toward some areas to watch.  Uranus is the planet of disruptions, disturbances, surprises, unexpected events, rebellion, technology, explosions, innovation, uniqueness and freedom to name a few.  In Aries, where he'll be for quite some time, this energy is exacerbated by that sign's impulsive and potentially aggressive nature.  Now consider that Aries is your natural 2nd house of finances, income, comforts and so forth as mentioned above.  Stop and think for a moment what kind of situations you may encounter under that influence.

Naturally the key is to direct that energy in a positive and beneficial way.  Just as an explosion can destroy, when properly controlled and directed it can take you to the far reaches of our solar system as part of a rocket.  This may not be an easy feat to accomplish, but you can bet it's even more difficult if you don't give it any thought and just sit there, letting it control you.  Uranus can bring excitement, breaking away from old restrictions and paradigms, and for Pisceans, work with your natural imagination and dreamy nature to bring forth something truly amazing, a beautiful display of fireworks as opposed to an unexpected muzzle blast.

Now that you have a feel for Uranus, let's take a look at Pluto, lord of the Underworld.  This bad boy is in Capricorn, your 11th house of groups, organizations, friends, networking and goals.  Pluto is the zodiacal roto-rooter who goes around unearthing anything which has been buried without being properly resolved.  Pluto is the ruler of the natural 8th house and fellow Water Sign, Scorpio, and thus relates to this month's lunation in that house in a subtle way.  When Pluto was discovered back in the 1930s the introduction of that archetype into the collective consciousness brought us fascism on steroids.  Now that he's in Capricorn, the sign which represents government and corporate structure, you can see Pluto doing his thing as he exposes corruption and dirt in these areas even as the leaders grab for more power, another facet of Pluto.  The question for you at this point is to examine your 11th house proactively to determine what Pluto may discover as he wanders through this part of your life.  What are your motives, what kind of people do you hang out with, and what do you hope to accomplish?  Be sure to look at the past, since Pluto is largely about resolving past issues.  In particular, look at how 11th house matters have affected your 2nd house matters of financial stability and so forth.  Don't expect to figure this out in one, stellar "Aha!" moment but realize this will be a process unfolding for you over the coming months and if you pay attention carefully to the greatest tutor and mentor of them all, i.e. the Universe, you should be significantly wiser come the end of the year.

Back to April's Full Moon, there is a short-term T-square associated with it which is worth mentioning as well as some other influences from Uranus.  Venus is at the apex in fellow Mutable Sign, Gemini, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots and endings, which typically indicate the beginning of a new cycle.  Venus in this house is a favorable influence, fleeting though it may be.  Venus is your friend, especially since she has a special place in her heart for Pisces, the sign of her exaltation.  She rules your 8th house of transformation as well as your 3rd of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local travel.  She is squaring Mars, retrograde in Virgo, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships.  Relationships in this context include your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, and competitors, including open enemies.  Retrograde Mars may have been throwing a few things at you from this part of your life which has had you dodging a few bullets or perhaps you've simply encountered various passive-aggressive individuals.  It is also a tough time for feeling motivated and even if you do your efforts often fall flat.  This is a favorable time to hit the reset button and start over, at least when he goes direct, which is later this month.

To get back to the T-square, the square between Mars RX and Venus may be stirring up a few things on the homefront with regard to relationships which may or may not include your family members.  Mars RX is opposing your Sign Ruler, Neptune who is in your sign, his home base, where he operates beautifully.  If your birthday is right around February 21 Neptune is on your natal Sun which may or may not be a good thing because it will tend to make you a Pisces on steroids.  But if you're a Pisces, period, this mystic energy reverberating through your sign is going to be felt, perhaps even seen, as a beautiful nymph or other vision playing inside your head.  Your natural dreamy nature will be enhanced, but pursuing it is going to encounter a few obstacles.  Mars is one of them and family obligations are another possibility.

This is where Uranus enters the scene again, however.  Venus is sextile Uranus which suggests an unexpected breakthrough of a financial nature that may originate from your home or perhaps be inspired by a family member.  Mars is quincunx Uranus, indicating a change of direction which may be brought about through reviewing your goals and past associations.  Remember that Mars RX may throw something your way, as well, so this could be a lucky break from some old networking you did in years past which will also benefit your finances.  T-squares can even represent too much of a good thing, where essentially everything is coming up roses but you have a hard time keeping up.  Look around you at what's going on and see how this applies to you.

The New Moon on April 21 is in Taurus, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local travel.  With Uranus and Mercury conjunct in your house of finances and income this could bring something new and exciting your way.  Mars is now direct in your polar sign, Virgo, and trining this lunation, suggesting that someone close to you is going to be important as far as getting things moving in this part of your life, particularly since Mars rules your 2nd house.  Be prepared for a change of direction but also be aware that you are going to have to balance your dreams with reality, that they won't manifest overnight and that unrealistic expectations can put a damper on what would otherwise come about in due time.
