This month the New Moon on October 4 occurs in fellow Cardinal Sign, Libra, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  This is the house that Cancer rules in the zodiac and thus one that comprises matters near and dear to your heart.  If your birthday is between July 1 - 3, your natal Sun will form a Grand Cross with the New Moon which is already in cahoots with that Uranus - Pluto square.  Translating that from astrologese to plain English, you can expect this month to have some significant events as something new comes into your life that could cause a few disruptions and challenges.  Relationship issues are likely to arise, particularly any that involve power struggles or old issues that as yet have not been resolved properly.  In other words, something could come up that makes it harder to ignore.  A change of direction is likely to be an option but there will be numerous considerations that involve effort to resolve.  These could include your children, a romantic interest or perhaps even a creative endeavor. 

Discipline and responsibility is going to be issues but opportunities are out there as well.  Taking action on a financial matter or perhaps obtaining something you want or need is at the forefront but there's resistance to deal with, perhaps related other goals or household issues.  You may get the feeling of "going nowhere fast" and put your creativity to work to find away around it.  However, be a bit cautious about any inspiration that comes your way and give it the acid test for reality.  It may be too far fetched or idealistic, especially if you're operating primarily on emotional energy.  This appears to be a month of situations and ideas associated with them that is not going to be resolved for at least a month. 

The Full Moon on October 18 is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Aries, and squares your natal Sun if your birthday is right around July 18.  It is also a lunar eclipse which gives it additional impact which could last for several months.  It occurs in your 10th house of status, career, public image and reputation and suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in that part of your life.  Bear in mind that this includes a plethora of possibilities.  This house includes anything that could appear in the newspaper, on Facebook or in the public record as well as your career and such.

You may want to take action on something yet you need to think it through more carefully than you have so far.  If you're driving forward based on a vision or inspiration that is all well and good but make sure you have sufficient practical information and an action plan to back it up.  Benefits of some description related to work, service, a project or even your health are possible and could involve taking on more responsibility.  As expected it's going to take some effort but is likely to be worth it.  That change of direction that beckoned since the New Moon is still there and the picture may be starting to get a little clearer.  You have a fair amount of luck and creativity in your favor, especially those of you with birthdays right around July 11 - 12.  However, don't get too excited or determined to pursue that path before you just yet because on October 21 Mercury goes retrograde, a clear indicator that rethinking, reconsidering, revising, editing and perhaps even going back to the drawing board is advised.

Mercury retrograde has earned a rather bad reputation with the onset of the modern age and our dependence on electronic communications devices and mechanical devices, which don't take well to these times when their sign ruler is doing the backstroke.  Nonetheless, they serve a useful purpose because not everything is ready to go when you think it is and sometimes it's appropriate to take another look at your plans. The general tone of this month seems to be that changes need to be made and the process is beginning but all the information you need to make an informed decision is still evolving and not yet available.  You may not like the delay but it's unlikely that any real progress will be made if you try to ignore it because that's the general nature of Mercury retrograde, that nothing much happens.  Mars may rule drive and action but Mercury rules movement, so no matter how much you want to move forward, you're likely to be stuck in neutral.  Your best bet is to accept it and follow the cosmic indicators by not making any irreversible decisions at this time.
