Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month On November 13 is also a solar eclipse which will be visible in parts of northeastern Australia and the South Pacific.  An eclipse is a lunation on steroids which will have additional power and its effects can last for a long time since it activates that degree which can then be triggered further by subsequent transits.  It occurs in Scorpio, your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs and pleasures, so keep an eye on that part of your life for new developments.

There are three unaspected planets with this eclipse which bear watching given that they can be wildcards.  Without outside influence from other planets they are free to act as they see fit within the entire range of their archetypal energies within their resident sign.  The first one is Jupiter in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, where this big boy is in debility, one possible manifestation that of TMI, or too much information.  This is your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs, expectations, religion, politics, legal matters, foreign cultures, long-distance travel, and relocation.  Too much activity in this part of your life could definitely become an distraction but not necessarily in a bad way.  Jupiter is also retrograde which often relates to ethics issues so keep that in mind, also.

Your sign ruler, Venus, is also unaspected in your sign and on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 12.  This should be a good thing given she is in her dignity and will thus contribute in a positive way to your natural good looks and charm.  If there is something you want to accomplish now is a good time to go for it.  Last but not least is Mars in Sagittarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel.  If your birthday is right around October 21 this can give you a lot of energy and activity in this part of your life.  However, be aware that Mars unaspected may not always behave.  For one thing, be careful driving and running errands and you may also be seen as aggressive when that is not your intent.  You may also attract aggression from siblings or neighbors by reflection so if any of those people are acting strange that could be the cause.

Mercury is retrograde (more on that below) and squaring Neptune which is highly likely to bring some delusions or deception, again related to your 3rd house and also your 6th house of work.  If you come up with any brainstorms related to work they may be delusional or outside the realm of reality.  Others may lie to you as well, so this is a time to make sure you trust but verify.  Saturn has recently moved into Scorpio, your aforementioned 2nd house of income and such, which may not have a particularly favorable influence given that Saturn is all about boundaries and restrictions and can also slow things down.  I just got Saturn out of my 2nd house and I must say the improvement in my finances was almost immediate so you're likely to see the opposite effect.  Sorry.  Saturn in your 2nd house, which will usually last for about two years, often designates a time to restructure your finances.

Saturn has been trining Neptune for a while which can often be useful for manifesting your dreams and considering Neptune is in your 6th house of work this could have been good for improving your job situation or getting a raise.  Uranus, planet of surprises and sudden events is tied in there also, however, from your 7th house of relationships.  This could necessitate and adjustment or change of course of some description.  One caution here is that Mercury RX - Neptune square which means anything you hear is likely to change when Mercury goes direct.  So if you think you have a new job, promotion or raise, don't go out and buy that new Mercedes until your first paycheck comes in, at least.

Speaking of Mercury, he stations retrograde on November 6 which is election day in the USA and bound to make a royal mess of things just like the same situation did in 2000 when Daddy Bush and Owl Gore ran for the presidency.  The usual Mercury RX advise stands to avoid buying anything of an electronic or mechanical nature during that time.  He goes direct on November 25 but the shadow period lasts until December 15 which definitely is not good news for holiday shopping.  If you can't wait until it's over, then be sure to keep those receipts and consider the extended warranty for big-ticket items.  Whatever you do, don't buy a car but rent one if necessary until mid-December.

The Full Moon on November 28 is a lunar eclipse in Gemini, your aforementioned 9th house of beliefs and such.  If your birthday is right around September 29 this will trine your natal Sun and have additional influence which should be favorable.  There are two unaspected planets for this eclipse which somewhat ironically are Mercury and Neptune who were squared off earlier.  Mercury has barely come out of retrograde and is thus free-floating in Scorpio, your 2nd house of income and possessions.  This could bring lots of ideas on the subject or conversely put you in a complete stupor.  Neptune in Pisces in your house of work could bring a complete lack of motivation on the job and put you out there in Lalaland which usually isn't a good thing unless you're in a job that requires a lot of dreamy inspiration.  Remember Neptune is everything from inspiration to illusions, so enjoy the dreamy part while not expecting it all to be real.

There are two yods associated with this eclipse which also bear watching. A yod, also known as a finger of God or what I often refer to as the flying fickle finger of fate, a vestige from the old 60s show, "Laugh-In."  This is a lot of energy forced together in what can be an incompatible way, forcing adjustments and course changes.  (If perchance you have a yod or unaspected planets in your natal chart I highly recommend "The Yod Book" by Karen Hamaker-Zondag.)  The eye of the first one is a conjunction between Saturn and your sign ruler, Venus, in a combination that often relates to responsibility in relationships or money, in your 2nd house, further emphasizing Saturn's presence in that venue.  The base involves the eclipsed Moon which is close enough to Jupiter to pick up some of his expansive effects in your 9th house of beliefs and expectations; this could, worst case, be expecting too much but not necessarily.  The other half of the base comprises Uranus in Aries, an erratic planet in an impulsive sign and your 7th house of relationships.  This could mean that someone close to you comes up with some fantastic ideas for improving your income or possibly spending it.  If it's the latter be sure to not give in if you know it's a bad plan.

The other yod shares many of the same planets, thus further emphasizing the same theme.  In this case, however, the eye or pointer planet is the Moon under the influence of Jupiter in your house of beliefs.  Saturn and Venus are part of the base but two new planets in partile (same degree) conjunction also come into play, Mars and Pluto in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories and new beginnings/endings.  The easiest way to describe the energy when these two get together is direction action with power and control.  This can indicate a new phase of operations where you take control of your finances and head off in a new direction with high expectations, certainly not a bad thing.  Just make sure you use that power and control or someone may use it for you.  Libras often have a difficult time standing up for themselves, tending to be too accommodating of others and allowing themselves to be tromped on.  If this happens too much you will eventually explode and go into the "eye for an eye" mode which is seldom pretty.  When hurt or betrayed Libras can be extremely vindictive, which can be avoided by learning to defend your rights and happiness, which is every bit as important as everyone else's.

Ponder all these energies in the context of your life and see what action the Universe is directing you toward.  Saturn in your 2nd house may not necessarily be bad, but it's important to recognize it could bring some restrictions.  Your 2nd house also represents your needs and pleasures so don't neglect that part of your life, either.  Even if you have to cut back the budget, make sure that you still find time to relax and enjoy the beauty around you to make sure you maintain that balance so essential to your sign.
