Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon this month is also a Solar Eclipse which will be visible in parts of northeast Australia and the South Pacific. As you may recall, eclipses are lunations on steroids and thus have a lot more power as well as longevity, meaning they can show up months after they occur as other planets transit the degree activated by the eclipse. This one occurs in fellow Fixed Sign, Scorpio, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories and endings/new beginnings. If your birthday is right around August 14 this eclipse will square your natal Sun and probably be quite noticeable. It will kick something into motion, even though the effects may not show up for a while. This eclipse has three unaspected planets which could function as wildcards. When in this condition a planet is free to act however it wants across its entire archetypal spectrum in its particular sign environment. They are often subtle in this influence, so much so that you may not even be aware of it. This also means that you can project the energies on others who may react to you in an entirely unexpected way. This is not always a bad thing by any means but something to be aware of so you can use it appropriately or conversely understand why other may respond in a strange manner. First on the list is Jupiter in debility in Gemini, a combination that is the epitome of TMI, too much information. This is your 11th house of groups, organizations, friends, networking and goals where Jupiter's expansive nature can be very favorable unless he gets out of hand and provides too much activity. Leos love to party so this may not be a bad thing unless it keeps you from other important matters. Jupiter is retrograde which tends to relate to ethics issues, so keep that in mind, too. You could be perceived in an inflated manner, i.e. over-confident, arrogant, pushy or generally obnoxious, so if people react unfavorably to what you feel is a reasonable request, this aspect is likely the cause. Venus is also unaspected in Libra, sign of her rulership and dignity, so her behavior is likely to be more favorable. She is in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, local travel, siblings and neighbors, which could endear you to these people and also provide you with lots of favorable ideas that could relate to love or money. They could be extreme, however, so if you suddenly start stalking one of your neighbors be aware where that is coming from. However, it does bode nicely for relationships with your siblings which is always nice during the holiday season, particularly if you belong to one of those families that indulges in recreational fighting. In which case, the third unaspected planet may play a role as well. Last but not least, Mars is unaspected in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, your 5th house of ego development, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. Mars' energy can run the entire gamut from overtly aggressive to passive and unmotivated. If your birthday is right around August 20 then Mars will trine your natal Sun and affect you even more. This can give you a bundle of energy though you may have a difficult time directing it toward something specific and it's very likely you'll be perceived as aggressive, egotistical or pushy unless you really ramp up the gain on that natural Leo charm. You may very well get what you want but just make sure you minimize any collateral damage. As far as aspects are concerned, Mercury, which is retrograde, is squaring Neptune, an aspect that easily spells delusions, a lack of reality, deception and illusions. This could definitely exacerbate those unaspected planets' effect and make you entirely unaware of them. More on Mercury retrograde below. Saturn has been trining Neptune for a while which is an excellent aspect for manifesting your dreams. Uranus, planet of the unexpected and sudden change, is putting in his two cents worth, however, from fellow Fire Sign, Aries, your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs, expectations, legal matters, religion, politics, foreign cultures, long-distance travel and relocation. Something coming up in this venue could thus necessitate an adjustment or change of course which could be exactly what you need on one hand or take you off track on the other. Mercury goes retrograde on November 6 which is election day in the USA, promising to turn that process into a complete fiasco. If your birthday is right around July 27 there may be a special message in this cycle for you to rethink something related to your 5th house of ego, children and romance. As always remember the usual advice not to purchase anything electronic or mechanical during this time frame which ends November 25 with the shadow extending until December 15. This obviously can put a damper on holiday shopping, so try to avoid it if at all possible. Otherwise hang onto your receipts and consider that extended warranty for big ticket items. Whatever you do, avoid buying something like a car at this time; rent one if necessary. The Full Moon on November 28 is a lunar eclipse which takes place in Gemini, your aforementioned 11th house of friends, networking and goals. If your birthday is right around July 30 this eclipse has your name on it so pay close attention to its potential effects. First of all, Neptune and Mercury are unaspected now which can have an interesting effect. Mercury is in your 4th house which includes your home environment so any number of things could come out of that whether its a lot of communications from family or misbehaving appliances. Neptune can bring great insights and inspiration in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt and shared resources but don't let him dupe you into thinking you can afford something you can't. Seriously. You know you love luxury so watch out for temptation to indulge in something you'll regret later. This eclipse also has two yods, an aspect also known as a finger of god or what I sometimes refer to as the flying fickle finger of fate, to echo a term from the old 60s show "Laugh-In." Yods blend a bunch of incompatible energies together and can be destabilizing. The first one has its eye on a conjunction between Venus and Saturn in your 4th house of home environment, memories and new beginnings. This pair typically relates to responsibility toward love and/or money. The base includes the eclipsed Moon which is just close enough to Jupiter to bring in an expansive effect in Gemini, your house of friends and goals. Since you love to entertain, this could be a tremendous urge to party. The other planet involved in the base is Uranus in Aries, your 9th house of beliefs and such described earlier. Uranus can bring big surprises. One possible worst case manifestation of this could be throwing a big holiday party where the guests get out of hand and cause some legal problems. It won't necessarily be bad but it's possible. On a more favorable note, it could meet all your expectations and start a new cycle of interaction with family and friends. The second yod shares many of the same planets as the first except its eye is the Moon, focusing on friends and goals. Saturn and Venus are also on the base and carry the same meaning as described above, i.e. possibly responsibility in relationships. The other base, however, bears serious watching as it comprises a partile (same degree) conjunction between two bad boys, Mars and Pluto, in Capricorn, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. These two can easily manifest as direction action toward power and control and if you don't use it then it's likely to be directed toward you through projection. If you're in a leadership position then your employees will probably see you as a tyrant and if you're an employee be aware you may attract that energy and become a target. If you're an employee and are perceived to be projecting that energy that won't go over very well, either. However, when you relate this to Venus and Saturn, perhaps taking action and control with regard to your employment may be what you need to do to take care of things at home and perhaps some serious networking is what needs to happen to bring it all together. |
