Lunations and Long-term Aspects One thing to note about this month is that Venus goes retrograde on the 15th and will remain such until June 27. As the natural ruler of love and money, Venus RX tends to concentrate on your value system and any changes or reprioritizing which is in order. She will do her biannual "thing" in Gemini, your 11th house of groups, organizations, friends, and goals and as ruler of your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings as well as local travel and your 10th house of career, status and reputation these houses are likely to be affected as well. Of course no area of your life is entirely isolated unless you have a split personality disorder, but in this situation these are the most likely places to ponder and watch for clues with regard to what lesson they contain. Remember as well that when Venus is retrograde that she is the "Warrior Goddess" as opposed to the "Love Goddess." This is when you may gather your forces together the truly defend what you need in these parts of your life. You will don your armor and not take no for an answer and proceed in a truly leonine fashion backed up by your royal inclinations and Fire Sign temper as required. You may want to warn your friends and loved ones accordingly. If your birthday happens to be right around August 16 she will station retrograde sextile your natal Sun which will make the influence stronger for you. If your birthday is right around July 30 she will station direct sextile your Sun, also increasing the influence. Several planets have stationed around 23 degrees in various signs these past few months so if you have noted this to be an interesting year so far that is likely the cause. Stationing planets deliver a bit more punch than those simply transiting through your chart and typically deliver an important message. A long-term aspect to keep in the back of your mind which you may encounter over the next few months is a square between Uranus and Pluto. Both are in Cardinal signs, giving their energy a bit more push than usual since these are the action-oriented signs. Pluto in Capricorn, your 6th house of work, is likely to bring numerous interesting situations in this part of your life. The 6th house also includes your health, so be mindful of it, and your service activities as well as pets. Pluto is all about transformations, eliminating those things you no longer need, and power trips of all varieties, whether they are yours or someone else's. Take a moment to consider how that may apply. Uranus is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, religion, politics, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation. As the planet of disruptions, surprises, freedom, rebellion, breakthroughs and innovation this influence may be a bit hard to miss. Now what you need to do is combine these two influences and houses to determine more closely what exactly is going on here. This could be a push to go back to school and thus qualify for a better job. It could also be excessive, unplanned travel related to work. It could be unexpected health issues. It could be the sudden discovery of corruption which brings about legal action at work, such as the Enron debacle. Of course none of this sounds like much fun so the main thing to remember is to do proper maintenance on your stress level. Those of you with birthdays between July 27 - August 2 are most likely to encounter these influences this month. If you tie all these work influences in with what Venus RX is trying to say, you may find that a new career is in order. The Full Moon on May 5 is in fellow Fixed Sign, Scorpio, your 4th house of home environment, memories cultural roots and endings, which of course implies the beginning of a new cycle. The 4th house is at the bottom of your chart and represents midnight when a new day begins. If your birthday is right around August 9 you may feel this lunation more than other Leos. The Sun, which is also your sign ruler, is in Taurus, your 10th house of career illuminating that part of your life, so you can begin to see a common theme here of work and career. Jupiter is in Taurus as well, implying expansion and luck, so put this to work. As a Fixed Sign you may not like change, but unless you are deliriously satisfied with the status quo that is what's required to push it in a new direction. On of the Lilith entities is conjunct the Sun for this lunation which, particularly if you are a woman, can put your female drive and independence in overdrive as well, particularly when combined with the Warrior Goddess noted earlier. There are some interesting aspects patterns at work with this lunation. One is called a triangle of potential and comprises Venus, Mercury and Saturn. We already talked about Venus and while she's not yet retrograde, she will be soon. She is at the apex of this triad and thus the energy to use to control the other two, which are in opposition, implying the need for balance. Saturn is retrograde in Libra, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel which suggests restructuring something in this part of your life. Mercury is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, and is the natural ruler of thoughts and communications as well as movement. Aries is your 9th house, your house of beliefs and such, as defined above. This could represent a shift in your thought process or understanding which has an effect on your philosophy of life. With Venus in the 11th of groups, this change may come from your current associations with a group or perhaps a new one. Another closed loop between three planets comprises that square between Uranus and Pluto and Mars in Virgo, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures. Mars just came out of retrograde in this house which suggests redoing something in this part of your life. Of course the most obvious part of this house is the money part, but bear in mind this is also where you take care of yourself, especially since your most important possession, your body, also resides in this house. If you've not been paying proper attention to pampering yourself at the appropriate level you need to give it serious consideration, especially given the potential for health implications with all the 6th house stuff. Other than that, concentrate on the fact that Mars is about taking action with regard to that Pluto-Uranus square. Coming out of retrograde and still in the shadow period which is while Mars catches up to the zodiacal degree where he stationed retrograde back in January implies a time to be getting your ducks in a row with regard to how you are going to make some changes in this part of your life. The New Moon on May 20 is also a solar eclipse, giving it additional power and duration. In other words, the effects of eclipses sometimes don't show up for months, which of course makes them hard to connect. This occurs in Gemini, providing even more energy to that Venus retrograde business. Venus is in semi-sextile with Mercury at this time which points toward some information, data or perhaps thoughts with respect to your career. Both Venus and Mercury are aspecting Saturn in your 3rd of thoughts, further suggesting some new ideas and a change of direction. Neptune is squaring the lunation, however, which throws a bit of caution into the mix. Neptune is in Pisces, your 8th house of transformations, debt, shared resources, sex, death and regeneration and intense experiences and suggests this revelation may be triggered by an experience that fits in this house. There is likely to be a challenge of sort associated with it, so make sure you're well-rested. The trine between Mars and Pluto in your house of income and work suggests some interesting happenings there. Hopefully these will be positive, but given that these two planets have a somewhat unfortunate reputation, you'd do well to be a bit careful and not go out and spend a lot of money or go into debt at this time until you figure out exactly how it's going to play out in your life. |
