Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month begins with a Lunar Eclipse on June 4th, the companion to the solar eclipse on May 20th. Lunar eclipses tend to operate more on the emotional plane whereas solar eclipses are more likely to precipitate events and situations. Thus, this could represent your reaction to whatever the solar component stirred up, though bear in mind that the effects of eclipses do not always appear immediately but have been known to show up months later. I'm sure that is less than enchanting news given your propensity for detail but the Universe simply doesn't want us to know everything in advance, no matter how much you like to plan or dislike surprises. This eclipse occurs in fellow Mutable sign, Sagittarius, your 4th house of home environment, memories, new beginnings and cultural roots. The Sun is in Gemini, your 10th house of career, status, public image and reputation, highlighting that part of your life. If your birthday is between September 6 - 9 your natal Sun is party to a T-square with this eclipse, personalizing it even more and suggesting that something is going on that involves home and work or perhaps a new beginning at work. Mars is in your sign where he is still in his shadow period following his recent retrograde. Those of you with the birthdays mentioned above have Mars either conjunct or mighty dang close to your natal Sun as well. This will give you all sorts of energy which could manifest as aggression, so bear that in mind if you notice people backing away from you when you're expressing yourself. The retrograde shadow implies that you've been redoing something lately which isn't quite complete and it may well relate to the home/work or new beginning situation. This effort should be complete by June 20 after which you can proceed. Venus is conjunct the Sun for this lunation and also squaring Mars. She is currently retrograde and will actually transit the Sun in a week or so when, with the proper equipment, she can be seen as a small dot crossing the Sun's surface. After that she'll become the Morning Star as opposed to the Evening Star and thus become the Warrior Goddess rather than the Love Goddess. When she dons her armor and full battle regalia she will fight for what she needs and defend what she cares about. This, by the way, will be focused on your 10th house of status and career, so given that Mars is in your 1st house and can also throw some aggression your way, you might want to keep your chamomile tea handy. It's okay to defend yourself but be careful you don't burn any bridges, either. Mercury, your sign ruler, is also in your 10th house, sharpening your data gathering and communications skills. Mercury is trining Saturn in Libra, your 2nd house of possessions, income, comforts and pleasures. With Saturn in this sign, especially while he's retrograde, you may have been restructuring this part of your life in some way. Remember that Saturn RX tends to cause delays and obstacles. If you've been trying to diet, given that the 2nd house also includes your body as your most important possession, you may have noted a rather discouraging lack of progress in this area. This trine, however, bodes well for receiving information with regard to your status, whatever that might be, and rebuilding or restructuring accordingly, whether it's reworking your finances or losing your love handles. A long-term aspect to watch out for given it's going to last the entire year, is that Uranus - Pluto square. Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter, is in fellow Earth sign, Capricorn, which constitutes your 5th house of ego definition, children, entertainment, romance, creativity and speculation. He is going to be transiting that sign for several years to come with the most obvious influence when he aspects one of your planets. If your birthday is right around September 1st he is currently trining your Sun. While Pluto is not exactly known for his benevolence, the trine does tend to place it more in your favor. This will be a time when something in this part of your life undergoes a transformation or you eliminate something you no longer need. Uranus, planet of sudden change, rebellion, breakthroughs, freedom, disruptions, disturbances and yes, even explosions, is in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, shared resources, and debt. The sign involved is Aries, his natural impulsive and energetic nature, quite a volatile environment for Uranus, needless to say. If your birthday is right around August 31 Uranus is quincunx your Sun, suggesting a sudden or unexpected change of course. Given the square to Pluto, those two will be working together such that whatever surprises Uranus may hold are likely to relate somehow to your 5th house and have an important influence. The New Moon on June 19 is in Gemini like it was last month. This is unusual, but last month it occurred at 00:21 Gemini and this month it's at 28:43 Gemini, illustrating the 28 day lunar cycle and the fact the Sun moves approximately one zodiacal degree per day. On the positive side, this offers two chances to start something new in your 10th house of career and status. By now Venus is operating as the Goddess of War and quincunx Pluto in your 5th of creativity, children and such, indicating a change of direction. This could be asserting yourself such that you are able to reform something about your career which offers more creative satisfaction, even if it comes about in a rather sudden or unexpected, even disruptive, manner. The lunation itself is trining Neptune in your polar sign, Pisces, where that planet is in his dignity as its ruler and very strong. This bodes well for inspiration, perhaps coming from someone close to you, that helps you know where you want to go careerwise. Jupiter is in that house now as well which bodes well for expansion and luck. He is squaring Neptune, however, which points toward a conflict of some sort, perhaps due to unrealistic expectations or failing to see things as they really are. Bear that in mind in the context of any changes and make sure you have your facts straight and get any promises in writing. Your sign ruler, Mercury, is now in Cancer, your 11th house of goals, friends, organization, networking and so forth which will facilitate communications and ideas in this part of your life. He is squaring Saturn in your 2nd house, however, which doesn't bode well for your financial goals, but Mercury is also sextile Mars, showing there is an opportunity there as well. The implication is that it may not be beneficial financially initially but with some effort it can ultimately turn out that way.
