Lunations and Long-term Aspects The month begins with a Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon on June 4th, the companion to the Solar Eclipse on May 20. Eclipses tend to have more impact that the usual lunation and can even manifest before they actually occur or several months later. The lunar variety typically operate more on the emotional plane whereas solar eclipses tend to bring events and situations. Both of these eclipses are members of the 14S family in the Saros Series which has a general meaning, according to eclipse guru, Bernadette Brady, of being favorable, particularly with regard to something you've been working on for a long time. The aspects of the eclipse itself don't look that friendly, but it all depends on how they interact with your natal chart. Of course it can have a bearing on your secondary progressed, solar return, planet return and relocated charts as well. (If you've moved a significant distance from your birthplace, which rearranges the house configuration of your chart, it can make quite a difference in how transits affect the different parts of your life.) The eclipse occurs in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, which immediately makes it slightly friendlier. If your birthday is within a day or so of August 7 the Moon will trine your natal Sun from your 5th house of ego development, children, romance, entertainment, creativity and speculation. This is the zodiacal house Leo rules and thus contains things which are important to you. The Sun at this time is in Gemini, your 11th house of goals, friends, groups and organizations, highlighting this part of your life. There may be a need for balancing something in these two parts of your life, however, with the possibility that you will be overshadowed in some way. Nonetheless, you are relatively well-positioned to control the situation and make it work in your favor. Mars is in Virgo and forming a T-square with the Sun and Moon from your 2nd house of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. This looks like a financial hit of some description and may even affect your beliefs and expectations or, worst case, involve a legal matter of some sort. The good news is that your sign is well situated with the eclipse so it's likely whatever it is will ultimately work in your favor or have minimal impact. Mercury is trining Saturn from Gemini in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. Saturn is retrograde, indicating some restructuring going on in this part of your life and Mercury signifies news or information which relate to your friends or goals. This could even indicate that one of your friends is about to become a neighbor or that restructuring one of your ideas can help move one of your long-term goals forward. Venus is retrograde which makes her transition from the Goddess of Love to the Goddess of War and she is also hanging out in Gemini, your 11th house of friends and goals. This is the time for you to fight for what you need and want. She is conjunct the Sun for the eclipse and thus part of the T-square squaring Mars as well, but it looks as if she is getting into position to likewise help you out, which will become more apparent with the upcoming New Moon. One long-term aspect to keep an eye on is a square between Uranus and Pluto. These two bad boys can cause a heap of trouble, but that is going to be primarily when they aspect one of your charts. This square will be active until the end of the year, which is likely to bring about all sorts of interesting events in the world as well. Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter, is in Capricorn, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. If your birthday is within a day or so of July 31 this could bring an interesting situation your way. Pluto is all about power trips, eliminating things you no longer need, and resolving messes from the past. You may find yourself encountering a tremendous number of power-hungry people in the workplace or, conversely, it may be you. Whichever the case, it's going to necessitate some changes of course. Uranus is in Aries, a volatile combination considering how energetic, impulsive and potentially aggressive Aries energy is for the planet of disruptions, disturbances, sudden change, unexpected events, rebellion, breakthroughs, innovation, technology, and freedom. Fellow Fire Sign Aries is your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, religion, politics, legal matters, other cultures and long-distance travel. Those of you with the late July birthday will be able to turn this to your advantage to make some changes in the workplace. The New Moon on June 19 is again in Gemini. This is because last month it occurred at 00:21 Gemini and this month at 28:43 Gemini, illustrating the 28 day lunar cycle as well as the fact that the Sun moves approximately one zodiacal degree each day. The lunation is trining Neptune in Pisces, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth, debt and shared resources. This could bring some significant inspiration or enlightenment with regard to one of your goals which could have a life-changing effect. Mercury has ruled into your 12th house, Cancer the Crab, and is interacting with both Saturn and Mars. The sextile with Mars looks like another opportunity to take action in the financial arena based on a dream or inspired idea. However, the square with Saturn looks less friendly and may involve an obstacle or delay holding your back due to some unfinished business. Venus, now is full battle regalia, is up to something as well. She is now visible as the Morning Star in case you're so inclined to get up and say hello before sunrise. She is quincunx Pluto and sextile Uranus which looks as if there may be some adjustments or course changes at work, perhaps as you uncover some dirt. If a legal matter is involved it's likely to fall out in your favor or at least bring some sort of opportunity your way. One aspect to watch as well is a square between Neptune and Jupiter. Jupiter is usually a benefic planet but in this case he seems to be warning against any grandiose goals or excesses related to your friends or organizational activities. Neptune can dissolve boundaries and cause significant confusion which could bring about disappointment if you're unrealistic so keep your group activities and goals, hopes and wishes within reasonable bounds. On June 5th, 2012, Venus will transit the face of the sun. The best places to watch are in the mid-Pacific, but travel is not required.
