Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month's Full Moon on July 3 is in your sign, Cappies, and if your birthday is within a day or so of January 3rd it will occur conjunct your Natal Sun, thus increasing its influence. A Full Moon typically brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase which will relate to you at a personal level. This is a time when you may complete a personal project or simply enter a new phase of your life. When the Sun is in Cancer this is also the time of year when you have your solar opposition, when the transiting Sun opposes your Natal Sun. This can be an important time as well where you may receive extra attention or perhaps be forced to see yourself more clearly. This is often a time of extremes which demonstrate a need for balance but can also be very favorable, depending on what else is going on in your chart. Pluto is a mere four zodiacal degrees upstream from the Moon, thus imparting his energy to the lunation as well. If you were born in December you have probably already gotten a taste of Pluto's energy as he plodded past your natal Sun. This can be a grueling transit and is always transformational. It has been said regarding Pluto transits that you seldom die but often would like to. As a Christmas baby, I went through this a few years ago and can honestly say that my entire life changed, but for the better. The process was not always easy but well worth it. As the modern ruler of Scorpio, your 11th house of friends, networking, goals and organizations, this is a favorable lunation to assess that part of your life and anything that should be eliminated or transformed. Remember that Pluto may be about death, literally and figuratively, but he is also about healing and rebirth, the phoenix rising from the ashes, if you will. I can use some of that energy to clean out my closet, storage room and garage, if nothing else, and so can you. It's amazing how good it feels to just get rid of a few things when the job is so overwhelming you don't know where to start. Pluto also comes into play with this lunation as the eye of a yod, a.k.a. Finger of God, or if you prefer, "Flying Fickle Finger of Fate," to borrow from a term in the 60s comedy show, "Laugh In." As you have probably already figured out this aspect pattern tends to have a fated flavor. Its base comprises Mercury in Leo and Venus in Gemini. Mercury is the natural ruler of communications, information and news and Pluto is you 8th house of transformations, which reinforces the Pluto theme. The 8th house also contains death and regeneration, sex, debt, shared resources, inheritances and those life experiences which change you in some way. Mercury can thus bring you news with this effect or simply understanding. Mercury also rules your 6th house of work, health and pets and 9th house of beliefs and expectations, possibly pulling them in as well. Venus is the natural ruler of love and money and rules your 5th house of ego definition, children, romance, entertainment, creativity and speculation and your 10th house of status, career, reputation and public image. Gemini is your 6th house of work. The emerging theme seems to thus relate to work in some way. This may be a time when you receive some much-deserved recognition or even a promotion that sets you on an entirely new career track. Uranus is influencing the yod by aspecting its base and will thus impart a surprise element to things. Uranus is in your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots and new beginnings. He will be in Aries for several years so brace yourself for a somewhat topsy-turvy existence in this part of your life, especially while he is squaring Pluto. Thus, those of you in the midst of your Pluto- Sun transit are getting a double whammy. This is where you really need to trust the Universe that all of this will ultimately be to your benefit. Sometimes it may feel as if the Universe is out to get you but in reality the true goal is for you to reach your full potential and be happy. You bring most misery upon yourself by not looking for the lesson lurking behind circumstances. You may be experiencing a lot of confusion with regard to work or your health at this time due to the square between Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter is in your house of work, health and pets and he typically has a lucky, expansive nature. With him and Venus both in that house it should bode well for your job. Neptune is in Pisces, the sign he rules, so he is thus very comfortable there and can function to full efficiency. Pisces is your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel and while Neptune can bring profound inspiration he can also bring confusion, dreaminess and a lack of motivation for lack of focus. Especially if things are already going crazy, this will not help as far as figuring out what to do first. Luckily it will not last very long and will be gone by the New Moon. The New Moon on July 18 is in your polar sign, Cancer, your 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors and business professionals. If you're in business for yourself it also includes your cliental. This should bring something new your way in this part of your life, which ties in with whatever that yod delivers. This lunation, however, is squaring Saturn, your sign ruler, in Libra, your aforementioned 10th house of career and such. This throws some challenges into the mix, though that will always be the case with new responsibilities and working out the boundaries in new relationships, professional or otherwise. Be prepared for some compromises to work things out. There is a somewhat ominous T-square out there between Uranus, Mars and Pluto, three malefic planets all occupying Cardinal Signs which are action-oriented. What this essentially does is add Mars as a player to that Uranus - Pluto square discussed earlier. Mars is in Libra, sign of his debility, where he can't take action as directly as he'd prefer but is instead forced to consider others. This could play out in a situation where you want to take a new job but your homelife is so hectic that taking on additional responsibilities which may require extra hours and certainly extra stress will require a lot of stress management to keep you out of a rubber room. Fortunately Mars moves relatively quickly so this will end before the end of the month. Jupiter can help mitigate this, perhaps with a little luck to help you through the rough spots. |
