Lunations and Long-term Aspects A long-term influence to be aware of is that Pluto - Uranus square, particularly with those two bad-boys in Cardinal signs which typically promote action as opposed to all talk and no do. Pluto is in Capricorn which suggests power grabs by those in supposed albeit misplaced authority as well as exposure of their misdeeds. Gee, haven't seen any of that lately, have we? The other component, Uranus, planet of surprises and disturbances in impulsive, energetic and independent Aries promotes rebellion and breaking free from restrictions which are typically the domain of Saturn which rules Capricorn. Uranus rules Aquarius, sign of "the people" so it appears that there will be quite the variety of interesting happenings during this time. For historical reference, the last time they were squaring each other was 1932-1933 and they were in conjunction 1965-1966. Think about what was going on then and it can give you some idea how those energies manifest. On the personal side this aspect may not have a particularly dramatic influence, depending on how it hits your chart though of course you may be affected by what is going on around you. On the positive side, Uranus is in Aries, a fellow Fire sign which means it trines Leo, a typically harmonious aspect. Of course a trine is not always favorable, it only means the energies combine easily so if you get two bad-boys together via trine the results can be unpleasant, kind of like that person you were friends with in high school who had a real knack for getting both of you into trouble. If your birthday is right around July 31 Uranus is currently trining your Sun from your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, beliefs and expectations, politics, religion, other cultures, long distance travel and relocation which implies something favorable from one of these areas could come upon you out of the blue, for example winning a trip abroad, unexpectedly winning a lawsuit, or finding the means to go back to school to name a few. Capricorn is your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. Pluto in this house is likely to expose you to power trips or corruption in this part of your life which results in a change of direction as implied by the quincunx aspect this sign makes with yours. Those of you born right around July 30 may be feeling this at this time. Factoring in the square, that situation at work or perhaps with your health is likely to disrupt your core beliefs in some way or create a legal situation, but the over-all effect should work out in your favor. This lunation comes with a yod or finger of god which has Pluto at the eye and the Sun and Jupiter at the base. Its implications are whatever you might encounter at work with regard to power trips or corruption as noted earlier will ultimately help you to expand your goals. Mercury is retrograde at this time, a time to rethink and reconsider what is best for you and redefine those beliefs and expectations being stirred up. Planning is being assisted by Saturn in your 3rd who is being trined by Venus from your 11th of friends and goals. This is an excellent time for networking and mapping out the year ahead. Expansion and good fortune predominates at this time so put it to good use. The New Moon on August 17 is in your sign and right on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around August 18. Mercury is now direct, the time when you start implementing those revisions you discovered during the retrograde period. There are numerous opportunities coming your way whether in the form of mental energy or perhaps connections with neighbors and siblings who may be sources of inspiration and finding a new direction. You may encounter some obstacles to attaining your dreams but as long as you keep them reasonable their prognosis is good. The Full Moon on August 31 is in Pisces, the Sun in Virgo, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs and comforts. This is a time to consider what you need and how to get it if this is not already happening. Neptune is in Pisces, your 8th house of transformations, sex, shared resources, death and regeneration and debt. Neptune can be inspiration or cast tremendous illusions so make sure you can tell the difference. This lunation also has a yod, again involving the Sun but this time Uranus is at the eye and Mars the other component of the base. The implications here are that financial or material realities can start you on a new cycle that can effect a sudden change in your core beliefs or some other element of your 9th house as defined above.
