Lunations and Long-term Aspects

Venus goes into your Sign on October 10 and will be there until November 3rd.  This brings a few advantages your way which you may want to exploit in your unique, Scorpio way, particularly as she connects with your natal Sun.  You will not only look your best at this time but will also be looked upon in a favorable way, making it an excellent time to ask for something you want.  Another transit that could be working in your favor as well is Jupiter in your polar sign, Taurus.  If your birthday is between October 28 - November 1 he will oppose your natal Sun sometime this month.  Taurus is your 7th house of relationships, so this influence is most likely to reflect there.  Jupiter is retrograde, however, which internalizes his energy which then tends to lean toward the philosophical.  Use this energy to look at your expectations of those close to you as well as your own behavior.  Having unrealistic or unexpressed expectations are areas which often cause problems with those close to you whether it's your significant other, close friends and relatives or even business professionals with whom you interact on a regular basis.  This would be a favorable time to give it some thought and then take any appropriate actions to make sure it's not an area which will cause you future problems.

The Full Moon on October 11 is in Aries, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets.  This type of lunation usually brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new level, so watch for something along those lines in that part of your life.  As noted above, Venus is in your sign at that time and is on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 27.  The Sun and Saturn are conjunct in Libra, your 12th house of enlightenment, transcendence, spirituality, seclusion, confinement, institutions, dreams, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  This woo-woo house can thus comprise your fondest dreams and worst nightmares and bears watching, both for opportunities as well as potential trouble.  Given that Scorpios have a strong sense of intuition you probably don't have too many "hidden" enemies, but you do have to keep an eye on the "self-undoing" part for anything you do that can undermine your efforts. 

This lunation is not necessarily a problem in that area, but I wanted to put that out there as a reminder.  Saturn and the Sun in that area can actually be quite beneficial given that Saturn can provide structure and discipline which you can utilize to bring your dreams into reality.  Saturn is also responsibility so if you are encountering any problems with institutions because you've been neglectful in some way, then this could be a wakeup call.  Keep your radar deployed and see what develops in that area.  Mercury is also in Libra which will help you tune in every more effectively.  This could also be a time to activate your networking grid and connections for assistance such as calling in any favors that are particularly timely.

Of course networking brings to mind your career, especially considering the lunation itself is in your house of work.  These two are separate houses because as most people realize they are not necessarily the same given that the 10th house which includes your career also comprises your public image, status, reputation and what you're known for.  Your ancient Sign Ruler, Mars, is in your 10th, providing plenty of energy for you to move forward with something in this area, though it may not relate directly to your career.  Caution is advised due to the fact that Mars is squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around November 6, suggesting you could possibly be the target of some sort of aggression in this area.  Mars, however, is trine the Full Moon, so in most cases you'll be able to use this to your advantage.  Perhaps you'll finish up a project at work which opens the way for new career-building opportunities, but remember to keep an eye on your behavior and attitude so as not to cause any problems. 

It's worth noting that Uranus, planet of surprises, the unexpected, freedom and innovation is also in your house of work and quincunx Venus, so the possibility for a sudden change of direction is there as well.  Your modern Sign Ruler, Pluto, as you may recall is in Capricorn, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and short journeys.  No one can handle Pluto as effectively as you can which will give you a major advantage with anything related to this part of your life for many years to come.  With Pluto squaring Uranus, you may discover something at work that not only takes you by surprise but is less than enchanting.  However, you can definitely land on your feet because Pluto is also at the apex of a Triangle of Potential which includes Jupiter and Venus, two very benefic planets.  The message here is to use your superior thought processes along with Venus' charm at the personal level and Jupiter's benefits with regard to your relationships and turn everything to your advantage.  Inspiration is also available thanks to a nice trine between Mercury and Neptune.  So while there are a few potential challenges associated with this Full Moon the energy to turn it to your advantage is there as well.

The New Moon on October 26 is in your sign, as you would expect, and is right on the natal Sun of those of your born October 27.  Venus and Mercury are also in Scorpio which will provide even more advantages with any communications.  This is a time to consider your personal goals and where you want to go in the coming year.  This is Solar Return time and I hate to inject advertisements into my horoscopes but I have never had a client complain yet about what they learn from our Solar Return report.  So if you're curious about what the coming year may hold, there is no better way to find out.  For those of your born on October 27 it will be a very interesting year indeed as that New Moon will be part of your solar return and thus in effect all year, implying all sorts of new things coming your way.

You can look forward to some unexpected changes of direction with regard to your job or perhaps your health.  Pluto is still in your court, providing inside information you can use to your advantage.  Mars is still in your 10th house of career, status and reputation and if he has been causing you any problems you can possibly use those enhanced communication skills to mitigate it but also be careful that you don't make any promises that you can't keep.  Total honesty is your best bet right now or it is likely to bite you with Saturn in your 12th house of self-undoing just about guaranteeing it. 

The New Moon is tied in closely with Neptune, Uranus and Jupiter which can provide some inspiration, motivation for a change of direction and perhaps some resistance from someone close to you or perhaps a competitor.  Now is a time to really watch your P's and Q's, shore up your integrity, and at the same time take a close look at what you really want and then go for it.
