Lunations and Long-term Aspects

Those of you with birthday right around June 7th have probably noticed some interesting changes in your life lately as the Lunar South Node transits over your Natal Sun.  The South Node typically takes something out of your life to make room for something new which will be escorted in by the North Node opposing, which will probably relate to a relationship of some sort.  It takes the Nodes about 18 years to make a full cycle around the Zodiac.  They move in a retrograde direction and represent where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic, which precesses over time due to gravity and the fact the Moon's orbit, like all heavenly bodies, is not circular but an ellipse.  There are intuitive and emotional implications involved with Nodal transits and they are usually fairly significant.  You can also expect important events to occur when you experience a Nodal return, when it returns to its natal position or Nodal opposition, when the Nodes are half-way through.  Nodal squares can also have an effect.  The Nodes are also closely related to eclipses.  If a Full or New Moon occurs with 11 degrees of the Nodes then an eclipse will occur.  They are just one more of the various astrological entities out there which carry significance and make astrology such a fascinating field of study.

The Full Moon on October 11 is in Aries, your 11th house of groups, friends, organizations and goals which should mark the culmination, end or shift to a new phase for something in this part of your life.  There is quite a bit of energy in fellow Air Sign, Libra, for this lunation, including the Sun, Saturn and Mercury with the first two in conjunction and thus blending their energies.  Saturn is all about responsibility, boundaries, and structure and is often referred to as the Lord of Karma.  However, in Libra he is exalted which brings out his positive qualities.  Libra is your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, entertainment, ego expression and speculation and is generally where we enjoy ourselves.  Thus, this influence should have a favorable effect for helping you bring more structure to this part of your life which may simply entail working it into your schedule.  Perhaps your group activities have kept you from pursuing something you love, spending time with your children or romantic partner or simply enjoying life.  If so, this may be the release you need to do so. 

Jupiter is retrograde in Taurus, your 12th house of angels and demons which includes spirituality, enlightenment, transcendence, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  Jupiter retrograde internalizes his energy but being a benefic planet he is not as annoying while in this state as others, such as your sign ruler, Mercury, which is a major pain when he's RX.  Jupiter RX often leans toward ethics issues or things of a philosophical nature, which is going to be operating for you at a spiritual level.  His opposition to Venus in Scorpio, your 6th house of work, implies there may be some balancing to do between your spiritual life and work or service activities.  Venus is the natural ruler of love and money but tends to be obsessive in Scorpio, so keep an eye on your work, health and pets and monitor how much time and energy you spend there as opposed to feeding your soul once in a while.  Your Sign Ruler, Mercury, is also in Libra and trining your Sun if your birthday is right around June 19.  This is already good news for your creativity and it gets even better since Mercury is trining Neptune, also in an Air Sign, Aquarius, which is your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel, beliefs and expectations, religion and politics.  If your birthday is June 19 this creates a lovely Grand Air Trine which will be fantastic for research of a creative nature with the suggestion that inspiration can come your way from something in your 9th, whether it's research, which you already love, or a trip somewhere you haven't been before.  Exploit it for all its worth!

Mars is in Leo, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings as well as local travel.  Drive carefully during this transit, but Mars in this house can give you a lot of motivation to pursue a new idea.  It also may bring a lot of activity with neighbors or your brothers and sisters.  Mars is trining the Full Moon which implies that some good ideas can come from your interactions with your friends or other groups as well as a favorable aspect for new ideas with regard to your goals.  Uranus, planet of the unexpected, surprises, breaking free and innovation, is in your 10th house of career, public image and so forth which may be bringing some surprises your way.  This could bring some intense experiences and a change of course which also affect your work.  It's impossible to predict what Uranus will do because by his very nature he's unpredictable, but watch for surprises in that part of your life for several years to come while he transits Aries.  Fortunately, Gemini is a Mutable Sign which adapts well to change.

The New Moon on October 26 is in Scorpio, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets.  This is an excellent time to start a new endeavor in this part of your life.  Mercury and Venus are in Scorpio as well, which will promote your ability to communicate, which is already excellent for Mercury-ruled Gemini's, and give you some of Venus' charm in this area as well.  This may bring a few challenges as well, however, and be especially tactful if expressing new ideas or thoughts so you don't appear too aggressive, which could happen easily with Mars in your 3rd house.  That thought energy is still favorable for creative endeavors, however, so direct it there for more positive results.  New activities such as a new job may limit the time you need for that spiritual development, so be aware of that as well and seek balance.  A change of direction with your career is likely as well.  Neptune is favorably aspected by the New Moon, however, bringing a bit of inspiration or perhaps a new educational pursuit or even a bit of travel you've been dreaming of.  Be prepared for some challenging but rewarding experiences to come.
