Long-term Aspects and Lunations The New Moon/Solar Eclipse on June 1st occurs in Gemini, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships. Bear in mind that this house includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives as well as business partners, professionals such as your accountant, and competitors. It's highly likely that this eclipse will bring someone new into your life in one of these areas who is going to be important. Eclipses have more punch than the usual lunation and in the case of the solar variety they tend to manifest as events or situations whereas the lunar counterpart, discussed below, typically is more subtle and appears on the emotional or mental level. Of course you're wondering exactly who and where this person is going to show up, so maybe other chart elements will yield a clue or two, especially those of you whose birthday is within a day or so of December 4th, who will have the strongest influence. The one planet in direct and fairly tight aspect to the eclipse is Saturn, retrograde for the eclipse but direct by the Lunar Eclipse on June 15th. Saturn is in Libra, your 11th house of groups, friends, organizations, networking and goals. As a reminder because I'm sure I've mentioned it before, probably ad nauseam, Saturn retrograde causes you to ruminate on something which needs to be restructured that's related to the house he's transiting. So, the implication is that you need to rework your group or organizational ties, friends you spend time with (maybe too much time), or that your goals might be out of whack. Since this house directly involves people, this looks like a very likely target to watch for eclipse effects, especially after the 13th when he goes direct. At this time you will begin to realize, if not already, what you need to do. Up until now you may have had a vague feeling of discomfort, fearfulness, or unrest that something wasn't right while some may have been totally oblivious to it. However, by the time this month ends you should have a pretty good idea of what it is and also some conception of what needs to be done about it. Capisce? Other aspects to consider include a somewhat wide but viable T-Square between Saturn, Pluto and Uranus. Saturn's influence will be the same as denoted above but influenced also by the other two planets. Pluto in Capricorn, your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures, is grinding away in that venue with his zodiacal backhoe where he is seeking unresolved issues which were buried rather than confronted as well as other Plutonian matters such as power trips. In your money house, this implies you have some unfinished business in this part of your life which is working against you as far as making progress on your goals or perhaps you're hanging out with the wrong people OR excluded because of something such as bad credit, just to name a few and give you an idea what to look for. Uranus, planet of disruptions, breaking free, innovation and sudden change is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, where he's been stirring up all sorts of trouble these days. Aries is your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, speculation and entertainment which really isn't too bad of a place for him to be since he can bring an entirely new dimension to your creativity and how you express yourself. He can help you break away from old ways of doing things and get a fresh start. However, as a member of a T-square, he may not be quite so kind but may spring something on you from that 5th house that wars against your finances and goals or group activities. For example, maybe you have a very expensive hobby you refuse to give up which is holding you back from getting your finances in order and pursuing your goals. While Pluto in the 2nd house for what is going to be a long time implies you Archers may be in for a long haul of financial challenges, this is not necessarily the case. It may simply be nudging you (or kicking you in the butt) to get that part of your life in order. I've always seen transits, especially by the outer planets, as being similar to a virus or disease for which there is a shot or other remedy to provide immunity. Thus, if you have the Pluto in the 2nd house shot, it means you're immune to some degree from hard transits, meaning you've already learned that lesson or it's not a problem in your life. On the other hand, if you're a total spendthrift, look out, he will get you and get you hard. Take your stripes, learn the lesson and make the necessary changes and he'll help you get situated in a better place. Pluto gets a bad rap, even from me, but he's really about healing and rebirth where something has to be eliminated, die or given up first so that can happen. One other thing to mention with this eclipse before moving on to the other one is that Mercury, Venus and Mars are all in Taurus, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. Thus, if you're looking for a job or working on a project Mercury can help you find the information you need, Venus can help attract money and Mars can give you the motivation you need to move forward. Taurus in quincunx Sagittarius by sign, however, so there is an implication for a change of direction, which of course ties in with the rest of this eclipse in some way. The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on June 15th occurs in your sign, which is likely to have a significant impact, especially for those of you with a birthday within a day or so of December 17th. As noted above, this may be more on the emotional or mental level as opposed to events or situations so may be a bit harder to identify. With Mercury in Gemini, your house of relationships, opposing the Moon, however, this affect may be precipitated by news or information provided by someone you know well. That T-square described above is still in effect so that isn't something you're going to resolve for a while. Your sign ruler, Jupiter, is in Taurus, your house of work and such, so this bodes well for finding what you're looking for in that part of your life. His trine to Pluto indicates that resolving or confronting your finances or possibly needs will help open the way for this. Pluto is also in a quincunx with Venus, natural ruler of money, indicating a change of direction, though this is again coming from someone you know. It's very probably that you will be heading off in a new direction with your work, service or perhaps health activities by the end of this month, though eclipse effects are known to drag out beyond that in some cases. In fact, eclipse effects can sometimes appear even before they occur, which is beyond the scope to address here. Saturn is retrograde at this time so you should be seeing more clearly what you need to do. The trine to Venus indicates assistance from someone you know well, likely a female but there is still some resistance coming from Pluto in your house of money. Old habits die hard, I know, but there are times you just need to bite the bullet and "git 'r' dun." |
