Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in fellow Water Sign, Cancer, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, romance, entertainment, children and speculation. Eclipses are stronger and thus more influential than the typical, garden variety lunation so something if very likely to come your way. Accompanying this eclipse and adding to its flavor are various aspects, as always, including a Grand Cardinal Square, which typically brings a variety of stresses and challenges. This will have a worse effect on Cardinal Signs such as Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, however, thought it will still be noticeable in your life. The good news for Pisces is that these planets which are locked into this rather intimidating square aspect your sign and perhaps your natal Sun in a much friendlier way. Consider that someone will benefit from even the worst disaster. For example, the construction industry will surely benefit from the many natural disasters everyone has seen this year even while the affected individuals and their insurance companies are in total shock. So here's what to watch for with the eclipse as well as the Full and New Moon to follow. As noted earlier, the eclipse is likely to stir up or deliver something which relates to your 5th house in some way. The 5th is often referred to as the "fun" house as it generally comprises relatively pleasant things. Saturn is down the road from the eclipse in Libra, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and regeneration, shared resources and debt. Saturn is being squared by the eclipse, adding stress and tension. His usual function is to impose structure, instill discipline and responsibility, define boundaries and limitations and sometimes institute delays. He is sometimes also known as the King of Karma and the author of hard lessons. His presence in this house could easily be related to debt problems or simply bringing you down to Earth in some way. You and I both know that Pisces aren't always in touch with reality and if you have really exploited this in some way and been irresponsible in so doing, then Saturn is probably going to slap you upside the head in some way to get you to shape up. Putting this into context with the eclipse, perhaps you'll have a creative brainstorm you really want to go after, but Saturn reminds you that you can't just walk away from everything else to do so. Moving along to Pluto in Capricorn, the next corner of the Grand Square, his influence, which will be of very long duration on the order of many, many years, is in the house which comprises goals, friends, group associations and organizations. These goals are the ones with which you need the help of others. Pluto is the zodiacal roto-rooter whose function is to clean things out and eliminate corruption or those things you no longer need and are still hanging onto. He can also represent power trips, both yours and those that belong to others. If you've been hanging out with people who are not good for you then this transit will eliminate them from your life one way or another. If your goals need to be entirely remodeled he will point that out as well, perhaps in a rather unfriendly way. If you're having a hard time letting go of anything that resides in this house it ties back into Saturn in the 8th trying to effect a transformation. Last but not least in the Grand Square we have Uranus in Aries, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. Uranus is all about surprises, disruptions, disturbances, freedom, breaking away, and even rebellion. He's entirely unpredictable, so if your income and finances have been upended lately, here's your culprit. So, you can see the cycle this Grand Square is sustaining. Your finances are erratic, you have an idea you want to pursue but don't have the money, creditors are hounding you day and night and your friends tell you not to worry, they'll buy you a beer. Or perhaps you refuse to modify your goals even when the Universe is flashing a giant, red STOP! in your face. So, that's the bad news. Now, the good news for you Fishies is that some of these things can work to your favor. You can't do much about Uranus in your house of income, but that Eclipse is in a fellow Water Sign and actually trining your Natal Sun if your birthday is within a day or so of February 28. If the Universe provides you with something wonderful like a great idea she will also help show you the way to achieve it. Saturn is quincunx your Sun for those of you with that same birthday plus a day, urging you toward a change of direction. It may come as a Catch-22 situation but it is going to nudge you toward an adjustment of a transformational nature; you will be a different person when all is said and done. Pluto is sextile the Sun for those with birthdays around February 25. Actually, if your birthday is around any of these dates you will be feeling it since the planets will tend to pull together. Sextiles bring opportunities which in this case suggests that renovating your goals or your circle of friends will be beneficial. Of course Neptune, your sign ruler, is in Pisces providing you with plenty of inspiration, but make sure you aren't being unrealistic, since Neptune excels at that, too. Neptune is trining Venus in your 4th house which implies that someone at home, probably of the female persuasion, can help inspire you while his quincunx to Mercury indicates you'll find even more inspired ideas which will take you in a slightly different direction. Jupiter in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors is expanding that part of your life in cahoots with Pluto, so all that housecleaning is going to pay off and bring about a change of direction with your home life, further contributing to that transformation. This is not to say that all this will be painless, but overall it will be for your good. The Full Moon on July 15 is in Capricorn, your 11th house, and will help you revise those goals or ditch those detrimental people in your life. Now is the time to really think outside the box, even for a Pisces. Activities at home are favored and you will also find out about an opportunity with regard to work. You may come across some money to pursue that creative effort, but about that time a bill collector or some other expense will relieve you of those resources. The New Moon on July 30 is in Leo, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets. This should bring something new into this part of your life; if you've been looking for a job, this should be very helpful. A change of direction is likely with this job which may be in an entirely different field of work that you were looking for. Someone close to you is likely to be instrumental in finding it, so if your best friend or significant other tells you about an opportunity out there be sure to act upon it. Uranus will bring you some surprises in the financial area, but this time they should be favorable as they will relate to that job. It should be an interesting month. |
