Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in next-door neighboring sign, Cancer, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. The Sun/Moon eclipse system marks the corner of a Grand Square, a rather stressful aspect pattern comprising three other planets, all in Cardinal Signs. However, since Gemini is fortunate enough not to be a Cardinal Sign this won't be as difficult for you as it will be for Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn because at least some of the planets in the Grand square may make favorable aspects to your natal Sun or other planets. In other words, regardless of how bad a disaster may be, someone is going to benefit from it such as the construction industry who will undoubtedly find some much-needed work following the various natural disasters we've seen out there lately. Saturn, for example, in fellow Air Sign, Libra, trines your natal Sun if your birthday is within a day or so of June 1st. Libra is your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation and Saturn in that venue will help structure this part of your life and have the discipline you need to pursue your goals. Knowing that Gemini people can be easily distracted and flit from project to project like a honey bee goes from flower to flower, this can be a good thing. Pluto in Capricorn, another corner of the Grand Square, forms a quincunx to your Sun if your birthday is right around May 28. This aspect calls for an adjustment, change of course, defending your position or possibly presents a Catch-22 which will manifest in you 8th house of transformation, sex, death and regeneration, shared resources, debt and intense experiences. This implies that something in this part of your life is going to push you in a slightly different direction, but not necessarily an unfortunate one. Uranus cruising along in Aries, your 11th house of goals, friends, networking, groups and organizations, is in a nice sextile to your Sun if your birthday is within a day one way or the other of May 26. Sextiles tend to bring opportunities, so be sure to keep in touch with those who can advance your goals while noting that Uranus is the planet of surprises and the unexpected so something is likely to come out of the blue. Other aspects accompanying the eclipse include a favorable trine from Mars which will help you get started on that creative project you've been thinking about but with a slightly different approach than you originally planned. Expanding your spirituality is also favored, which could be the natural result of from some sort of transformation where you gain a new perspective and see something differently than you did before. Venus in your sign enhances how you're viewed by others and can assist you in pursuing your dreams in a variety of ways. The Full Moon on July 15 occurs in Capricorn, your 8th house of transformations and so forth as defined above. A Full Moon typically brings a culmination or shift to a new level, so watch for something significant in this part of your life. The Grand Square has begun to dissipate, releasing some of the tension. Spiritual growth through increased understanding is still favored with surprises or unexpected events related to your goals are a possibility. Taking action on your ideas and finding the data you need are favored, but you may encounter some challenges with regard to having the resources you need. The New Moon on July 30 is in Leo, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings. If you're trying to get something off the ground, there is certainly no better house to have stimulated. Venus is also in that house, further enhancing its positive effect which will include some pleasant surprises. You may encounter a roadblock that relates to lack of confidence or perhaps some other self-defeating behavior, but delving into the reason behind it can help you bring the matter to a satisfactory close. A change of direction is again indicated, but then you'd rather be busy than bored so should be able to take this in stride. Your sign ruler, Mercury, slips into Virgo at this time, enhancing communications at home in a meaningful and helpful way. |
