Lunations and Long-Term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in your sign and will particularly strong if your birthday is within a day or so of July 2. The Sun/Moon eclipse pair is also holding down one corner of a Grand Square, a rather stressful aspect, along with three other planets, all in fellow Cardinal Signs. Saturn is in Libra, your 4th house of home environment, memories and cultural roots, where he has been emphasizing responsibilities and restrictions related to this part of your life. These may clash more than usual with your personal wishes and also be tied into Pluto's influences in Capricorn, your 7th house of close relationships. Pluto in this house suggests power trips and struggles with a significant other, close friend or relative or business partner. Transformation of these relationships is also part of Pluto's venue where any old, unresolved issues are addressed and hopefully taken care of once and for all. Nonetheless, for the purposes of this eclipse, these will be another factor in any home and personal issues, perhaps someone telling you what to do or there is always the possibility that you are the one trying to run the entire show and thus contributing to the problem. Last but not least, Uranus is in Aries, your 10th house of career, reputation, status and public image. Uranus is great for stirring things up, bringing surprise events and situations, creating disturbances and stirring things up in general. He also promotes personal freedom, innovation and, when necessary, flat-out rebellion. He could also simply be creating a very disrupted environment with regard to your career or status, making for a very hectic time. This, of course, will further exacerbate any challenges in those other areas. This Cardinal Grand Cross occupies what are known as the "angular houses" which comprise the cornerstones of your life, i.e. you, your roots and home life, your close relationships and career/public image, thus setting up a variety of conflicts and challenges that affect them all. Since this is also your solar return season, I hate to tell you this, but some of this will carry over into the following year is this eclipse happens to fall right around your birthday. Those of you born later in the month will be quite a bit more fortunate. There is some good news, however, in that you'll achieve significant spiritual growth and inspiration during this time which may even direct you toward a slightly different course. If you've had any self-defeating behaviors, those relationship conflicts may bring them out and help you achieve a healthier stance there as well, especially if you tend toward passive-aggressive tactics to get what you want. Expanding your personal goals, circle of friends, and group associations is also favored, which will bring new insights into your relationships in general. The Full Moon on July 15 occurs in Capricorn, your polar sign of relationships as noted earlier. This will signal a culmination or shift in phase for something or someone in this part of your life. The Grand Square has dissipated so tensions have lessened to some degree. Following your inner compass with regard to any ideas related to your personal needs will yield some opportunities and continuing to expand your goals and networking endeavors are also favored. The New Moon on July 30 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Leo, your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures which should bring something new to this part of your life. There may be some pleasant surprises from the career or status arena with a change of direction implied with regard to your finances. There may be some conflicts with regard to not having enough time to do everything you'd like to accomplish with it hard to set priorities, but clear thinking is enhanced by Mercury's movement into Virgo to help you sort things out, put them in order and make logical decisions. |
