Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories and endings. If your birthday is within a day or so of March 31 it will have a stronger influence toward bringing something new and significant to this part of your life. The eclipse Sun/Moon inhabits one corner of a Grand Square, a typically stressful configuration, so you should brace yourself for some challenges. Uranus is in another corner and as you may already know, occupying your sign and right on top of those of you with a birthday within a day or so of March 26. This influence will bring a variety of hectic, unexpected, disruptive events as well as increase your need and desire for personal freedom. Aries is already a very independent sign and with Uranus there this will strengthen that significantly. The square between Uranus and the eclipse signify that there is going to be a conflict between your personal freedom and whatever new issue comes up on the home front. Another corner of the Grand Square is occupied by Saturn in Libra, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships. Saturn opposes the natal Sun for those of you with birthdays a day or so from April 1. This brings an emphasis toward responsibilities, restrictions, boundaries and obligations tied to relationships and is easily further contributing to the stress of this Grand Square. The final member is Pluto in your 10th house of career, reputation, status and public image. Pluto in this neighborhood will be instigating major renovation in this part of your life. If you're not in the right career you will discover it sooner or later during this transit. "Status" is a somewhat vague term but relates to anything that may appear in the public record, newspaper or involve how you're seen by the world at large. Given the other planets in cahoots right now, Pluto could even be contributing to a bit of a power trip or, conversely, making you the target of someone else's. Put these all together and you can see that the cornerstones of your life, i.e. you, your home life, relationships and career/status are pulling against one another which doesn't make for a very peaceful time. Nonetheless, there are some positive things going on with this eclipse. Jupiter is transiting your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, needs and pleasures which should throw a bit of luck toward this part of your life. His trine to Pluto in your 10th house of career suggests that any transformations in that area will benefit you financially or at least make life more pleasant. Your sign ruler, Mars, is in your 3rd house of ideas, thoughts, neighbors and siblings, bringing his energy to this part of your life and pushing for a change of direction with regard to your career. Mars is also trining Saturn, throwing plenty of mental energy toward those relationship issues and providing some means to resolve them. As you ponder your home life and what you want it to be, be sure to spend some time in quiet contemplation so you can access inspiration from deep within yourself. Your chances of finding enlightenment are quite favored and likely to bring about a change of course. The Full Moon on July 15 is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, that house of career again, so watch for a culmination or shift in phase with regard to something there or some other status situation. The tug-o-war between freedom and relationship responsibility are still in force but should begin to fade in the near future. Those obligations are less than enchanting, however, and are likely to cause a few issues at home. Expressing yourself creatively or finding the information you're looking for with regard to any speculations you're pursing are favored, however. The New Moon on July 30 is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, your 5th house of creativity, ego expression, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. Some favorable surprises are likely in this area which will help you make any adjustments necessary in other parts of your life. The impact to your finances may be negative, but the over all effect will be to your liking. News of a positive nature related to work and career is possible, though it may be less than what you'd prefer. Continue to draw from spiritual sources for direction and trust the Universe. |
