The New Moon on January 4th is also a Solar Eclipse which gives it a lot more energy and influence for potentially a longer period of time. It will occur in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, other cultures, relocation, legal matters and foreign travel, so look for something to occur relative to one or more of these areas. Mars, Pluto and the Lunar North Node are also in Capricorn, giving it even more energy. A Solar Eclipse typically brings events and situations your way that can have a long-lasting effect. If your birthday is within a day or so of May 4th this will have a more noticeable effect, though you may not see it right away. This eclipse is a member of the 13 North family of the Saros Series with the generic meaning related to major group projects where a separation or breaking of a bond needs to occur before it can be completed. This specific eclipse indicates that moving forward will come contingent on resolving something from your past which you have buried or ignored. You may encounter an unexpected disruption with regard to one of your goals or perhaps involving a group or organization. Guard your reputation at this time as there is some potential for trouble in that area. There is likely to be a challenge with regard to your work responsibilities which also tie into whatever this eclipse brings your way.

During the first three and a half weeks of this month all of the planets will be moving forward which is a favorable time to make some progress while their energies are being expressed in an open and direct manner. This will last until January 26 when Saturn goes retrograde until next summer. With Saturn in your house of work, service, health and pets, you can expect delays and little progress in this part of your life during that time. While retrograde Saturn tends to stir something up in your subconscious for consideration which may give you a heavy or gloomy feeling that you can't quite identify. Once Saturn goes direct in June you will realize what it's all about and have the opportunity to rectify the situation by the time Saturn reaches the point where it went retrograde.

The Full Moon on January 19 is in Cancer, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and short journeys which will bring an ending or culmination to something in this part of your life. Bear in mind that this also represents a new beginning or cycle. This will be the most noticeable for those of you with a birthday within a day or so of May 21. More group activity will be involved as well as some adjustments or course changes with regard to your public image or reputation. Over all this looks like a month of various changes and possibly unexpected occurrences which will have a lasting impact. Think things through but be aware that sometimes you won't have as much time as you'd prefer to do so. Windows of opportunity can close if you're not prepared to act in a timely manner.
