Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month the New Moon on February 2nd is in Aquarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and short journeys or those to familiar places. Other than the Sun and Moon, Mars, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, are also in Aquarius, providing additional energy to this lunation. If your birthday is right around December 6th this will be most noticeable and should bring an opportunity or new idea your way relative to this part of your life. Your sign ruler, Jupiter, is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, your 5th house of creativity, ego, children, entertainment and speculation. He is squaring Venus in Sagittarius, particularly relevant for those of you born December 20. Since both Jupiter and Venus are benefic planets, however, a square aspect is unlikely to be as challenging as with other planets. This may simply represent a small challenge or obstacle which has to be overcome before seeing the benefit behind it. Jupiter's square to Pluto in Capricorn implies a bit more such as something that needs to be resolved in the financial area before moving forward. The Sun, Moon and Mars are trining Saturn in Libra, your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations, and goals. In this case we have what is usually a favorable aspect to a usually malefic planet. Saturn just went retrograde in late January which will typically start grinding away on something in your subconscious with regard to something that needs to be restructured which in this case will relate to you 11th house. During the retrograde period this will continue to rumble beneath the surface and you may not have a clue to what it might be, other than perhaps having a vague feeling of missing something you can't put your finger on. With the lunation and Mars in your house of thoughts and such, this implies some significant restructuring with regard to your goals or perhaps your involvement with friends, groups or organizations. The trine implies that this will be beneficial, particularly once you identify what it is and take action in the right direction. Remember that astrological energy is such that if you don't use it then it will use you, making awareness a major advantage toward using it properly. Venus is sextile Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron which suggests an opportunity, again most likely in the mental plane where you function so well, which may involve some inspiration. Chiron, the wounded healer, can turn poison into tonic and relates to disappointments and injuries of all varieties and is capable of putting these wounds to good use, helping others if nothing else. Mercury in your 2nd house of finances and possessions may bring you a sudden or innovative idea which relates to your home in some way or perhaps simply unexpected news in that regard. The Full Moon on February 18 is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, foreign or unfamiliar travel destinations, beliefs, expectations and philosophy of life. Sagittarius rules this house zodiacally so it's a part of your life which is typically very comfortable. If your birthday is within a day or so of December 21st this will trine your natal Sun which implies a favorable outcome to something in this part of your life since a Full Moon typically indicates an ending or culmination which may simply lead to a new phase. All those planets in Aquarius, however, which now also includes Mercury (though Chiron has moved into Pisces), are opposing the Moon from your 3rd house. This suggests some conflict or challenges between these two parts of your life. The combined energies of that cluster of planets with the Sun could indicate an inspired idea you want to move forward with but involve an obstacle or challenge of some sort, such as a legal hurdle. An unexpected event related to your home may bring about a change of direction or shift in your focus as well. Saturn, of course, is still retrograde in Libra, pushing for something to be addressed which is likely to relate to your finances in some way due to its square to Venus in your 2nd house of finance and income. This throws some major hints that your financial goals require attention. Pluto is still squaring Jupiter which implies expanding your identity, creativity or some involvement with your children will require a major renovation of your finances. Remember that Pluto is going to be in Capricorn rooting around in your finances and possession for several years to come. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if you've been burying anything in this part of your life or have old unresolved issues in this area, Pluto will sniff them out and rub your nose in them if required to get them resolved. Arguing with the planets is an exercise in futility you would do well to avoid. The Universe really has your best interests in mind and you can use the energy or it uses you. If you choose to ignore tutoring from the cosmos, rest assured that it will not go away. The planets are incredibly patient and will simply bring it to your attention again sometime in the future in an even more forceful manner until you have no choice but to take care of business. If you continue to ignore it it will follow you as unfinished business or karma to the next lifetime, so bear that in mind. |
