Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month the Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse and occurs in your polar sign, Gemini, your 7th house of close relationships. This includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, competitors, business partners and business professionals with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis. If your birthday is right around December 11 this celestial event opposes your natal Sun and is likely to have a noticeable effect. Also bear in mind that eclipses are lunations on steroids which can manifest before they actually occur or several months later. Of course this makes it much harder to recognize that the effects derive from it. If some earth shattering event or situation came about while an eclipse was in progress the connection would be rather obvious, but that is seldom the case. An eclipse of the Moon is also more likely to show up on the emotional plane than the corporeal, anyway, making it even more subtle. Nonetheless, it's worth noting what some of those effects might be so they're easier to recognize later. There are various aspects associated with this eclipse which can provide some clues on what to expect and where to watch for them. First of all, it is likely to involve someone close to you and affect you at the personal level. Mars is forming an aspect known as a T-square with the Sun/Moon in Virgo, your 10th house of career, status, reputation and public image. Mars in this house wants to take action or could even signify someone who is threatening or challenging you in some manner. With Mercury retrograde, this could involve the details of a project which need to be revised. At any rate, there is going to be some sort of conflict between these parts of your life. Mercury is in your sign doing the backstroke which will end December 14 but the shadow period lasts until right after the first of the new year, so true progress may not come until then. A sudden creative flash may come along which helps resolve this problem. Be sure to seek out the conditions you need to exercise creative thought. Something unexpected with regard to your children, a romantic interest or speculation may require review as well. Another closed loop aspect involved with this eclipse is one known as a triangle of potential which involves Neptune, Jupiter and Saturn. Saturn is in Libra, your 11th house of goals, networking, groups, organizations and friends and opposing Jupiter, your sign ruler, who is retrograde in Taurus, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. This implies a possible conflict between these two parts of your life. This may simply relate to time and energy or how you balance the two. Jupiter retrograde is philosophical and often also relates to ethics issues which will relate to the workplace. Perhaps your goals represent some sort of conflict in this area. However, Neptune, which is in soft aspect to both Saturn and Jupiter, can serve as the mediator to this dilemma. Neptune is in Aquarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. Neptune is inspiration so this clearly suggests inspirational thought which can help you resolve the problem. There is one more closed loop to consider which involves the Moon, Mars and Venus. The Moon and Mars are squared off, as noted earlier for the T-square. This suggests a conflict between a relationship and your career, status or reputation. Status is a rather broad term but one way to look at it is anything which might appear in the public record or newspaper. Mars, however is being trined by Venus who is in your 2nd house of possessions, finances, income, needs and pleasures. This is already a nice place for Venus who is accidentally dignified in that house as the natural ruler of such things. This could mean a raise or perhaps a promotion or even both. Venus is quincunx the Moon which implies that whatever she brings you way can help you justify your position with that person in your 7th house who is serving as an obstacle. The New Moon on December 24 is in next-door neighboring sign, Capricorn, your 2nd house as defined above. That triangle of potential between Neptune, Jupiter and Saturn is still in force because the planets involved move slowly so this matter, whatever it is, may not have been resolved yet. The New Moon brings attention to your income or needs which may include an unexpected event related to your children, a love interest, a creative endeavor or speculation. However, Jupiter in your house of work can offer some assistance, even if it takes some effort on your part to pull it off. Jupiter is stationing direct at this time so whatever has been in a state of contemplation should begin to surface shortly and help you find the action you need to take. |
