Long-term Aspects and Lunations The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. Your sign ruler, Jupiter, goes retrograde on August 30 and will be doing the backstroke until Christmas in Taurus, 6th house of work, health and pets. When retrograde Jupiter typically addresses things like ethics issues and also will influence your beliefs associated with his resident house and your general philosophy toward such matters. If your birthday is right around December 1 - 4, watch for a change of course this month in this part of your life. An old issue could be resolved or transformation occur that affects your income in some manner. One thing to watch out for this month is accidents. Don't take any unnecessary chances of any kind or you may not like the result. Mars is currently in Cancer, your 8th house, which can bring various problems if you're not careful. Since Mars is in Cancer, the sign where he is in a detrimental condition known as "fall," he will have slightly less energy, though this quickly becomes emotional energy. So, if you have a temper as many Fire Signs do, be sure to keep it in check as well. The Full Moon on August 13 is in Aquarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and familiar journeys. A Full Moon typically brings a culmination, ending, or shift to a new phase or cycle, so look for something along these lines to occur around that time. If your birthday is right around December 13, be on the lookout for an opportunity, perhaps to finally bring one of your ideas to fruition. Neptune has slipped back into Aquarius via retrograde motion which will last for several months before he goes back into Pisces next February. Of course he's been in Aquarius since the late 90s so this is nothing new. Neptune can be inspirational as well as delusional and currently Neptune is in your house of thoughts while Mercury, the information gatherer, is in your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, religion, politics, other cultures and journeys to unfamiliar places. This implies that there may be some conflict between what you think and believe, so give that some consideration. The primary conflict with this lunation could involve your finances, ego, and ability to transform. For example, you may be living a bit beyond your means or perhaps a major, unexpected expense may come along that hits you hard in the checkbook. Your ability to handle it may depend on being willing to change your lifestyle of standard of living. That's the negative side. A sudden windfall could essentially bring about a similar crisis due to the fact just about any major change creates stress, even if it's actually a positive thing. The New Moon on August 28 is in Virgo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. This lunation will square your natal Sun if you were born right around November 28, which could bring something your way in that part of your life. While squares are often stressful aspects, a Sun square Sun aspect isn't always negative but simply a challenge or change. With Venus in Virgo as well, this could indicate something related to love or money. For example, it wouldn't be uncommon for someone to have this aspect if they were getting married or starting a new career. Watch out for a conflict which involves an authority figure, group or perhaps even one of your goals. Whatever it is, don't lose your cool. Generally this New Moon has numerous favorable aspects going for it. Challenges that sprang from the Full Moon are still lingering about and will probably necessitate a change of course which will reflect in your status. Transformations that relate to your finances are tied into that change but by a trine, which implies they'll be favorable. Your buddy, Jupiter in your 6th house of work is what puts a really positive spin on all this.
