Lunations and Long-term Aspects The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. Your ancient sign ruler, Jupiter, goes retrograde this month in Taurus, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and familiar journeys. Being a benefic planet this isn't too much to worry about compared to some transits, particularly in a sign that sextiles your Sun Sign, an aspect that typically brings an opportunity. Jupiter RX tends to emphasize issues related to ethics or reflect upon your philosophy of life in some way. Be aware of this ongoing influence over the next few months; this month the influence will be strongest for those of you with birthdays between February 27 - March 3. It will be rather helpful for expanding upon any thoughts or ideas you're developing as well as interactions with any siblings or neighbors. The Full Moon on August 13 is in nextdoor astrological neighbor, Aquarius, your 12th house of inspiration, spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, institutions, confinement, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Pisces rules the zodiacal 12th house so these resident "angels and demons" should be quite familiar. A full Moon typically brings a culmination, ending or shift to a new cycle or phase, so watch for something along those lines in this part of your life. If your birthday is within a day or so of March 11 watch for a change of course with regard to your job or health. With Venus conjunct the Sun, this should be a favorable shift. Your modern Sign Ruler, Neptune, has slipped back into Aquarius for a few months, bringing his influence back to your 12th house as well, which will further strengthen the effects of this lunation. There are a few challenges associated with this lunation that you need to watch for. Houses involved include the 11th, 2nd, and 5th which cover your group interactions, friends and goals; income, finances and possessions; and creativity, children, romance and speculation, respectively. One possibility is that an unresolved issue from the past may make a sudden appearance which has a detrimental effect on your finances and keeps you from pursuing something you want. On the positive side, dealing with this old issue or eliminating something or someone, such as an unrealistic goal or toxic friend, will be a good thing which can unleash any sense of bondage you may feel and allow you to expand and deepen your thought processes at the same time. Another possibility is that a goal, group association or friend will essentially "arise from the ashes" and lead to a new idea or approach of a beneficial nature. The New Moon on August 28 is in your polar sign, Virgo, which comprises your 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and professionals you deal with on a one-on-one basis such as your accountant or financial advisor. This individual will help you cut through any misperceptions you may have though you find yourself stuck as far as moving forward with any creative endeavors because you need to transform your approach. A change of course is suggested which involves an unexpected event which involves your finances. Your buddy, Jupiter, is in a fortuitous trine with the Sun, Moon and Venus, indicating someone is going to give you a helping hand in pursuing your idea. Help via networking is also possible as well as all of this activity relating back to that idea "arising from the ashes." Thus, if you've been waiting on something to come to fruition for a long time, there's a chance that this month you will see some positive results. Keep your fingers crossed. |
