Lunations and Long-term Aspects The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. The Full Moon on August 13 is in Aquarius, your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs and expectations, legal matters, other cultures and foreign travel. This is one of your favorite houses so watch for a culmination, ending or shift to a new phase in this part of your life which should be of a positive nature; if your birthday is within a day or so of June 12 this will have an even stronger effect. This could see the completion of a major effort in this part of your life or at the least the accomplishment of a major milestone. With the Sun, Mercury and Venus all in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors you should experience some favorable things in that part of your life. There is some conflict suggested that could relate to your finances or shared resources. You may want to move forward with something or possibly have something break down, especially with Mercury retrograde this month, which represents a surprise expenditure that impacts your goals in a challenging way. Something unexpected could also come along that relates to your group activities or friends and puts an obstacle in your way. On the positive side, your spiritual growth is favored this month as you encounter something that has a transformational effect on how you view the world and your place in it. The New Moon on August 28 is in Virgo, your 4th house of home environment, memories and endings which should bring something new your way in this part of your life. These may challenge your belief system in some way through additional insights and cause some confusion but generally the effects of this lunation should be favorable. That surprise event or disruption triggered by the Full Moon will result in a change of course or direction. This will be a good thing, enhanced by faith or inspiration. The various happenings of the last month or so have changed you in a way which will bring something new your way. There's a conflict brewing that will relate to your finances or possessions and your creative endeavors or speculations in some way. For example, you may need to take action on something related to your income which takes you away from something you want to accomplish elsewhere. This will be a speedbump but unlikely to have a long-term effect. Jupiter goes retrograde the end of the month in your 12th house of spirituality, inspiration, enlightenment, dreams, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Jupiter is typically a lucky planet who has an expansive effect. While retrograde he tends to bring attention to ethics issues or your philosophy of life which, in this particular house, will impact your spirituality in some way. Jupiter rules your 7th house of close relationships so you may find yourself giving a lot of thought and consideration to the people in your life as well. This should be a pleasant and enlightening transit and certainly nothing to worry about. |
