Lunations and Long-Term Aspects The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. The Full Moon on August 13 is in Aquarius, 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, shared resources, debt, death and regeneration, and debt. This most likely will bring a culmination or phase shift in one of these areas. If your birthday is within a day or so of July 13 this is quite likely to bring a change of direction with it as well. There are various challenges associated with this lunation. Something unexpected will set off a conflict or power struggle with someone close to you which is likely to get you quite fired up, especially if you have a temper. Financial issues or possibly events which affect your ability to meet your personal needs could arise as well. With Mercury retrograde at this time it could bring up an old issue that needs to be discussed or perhaps precipitate some breakdowns with some of your possessions. If this turns out to be the case, remember to wait to replace them until at least after August 26 and preferably mid-September. The New Moon on August 28 has a few challenges but largely what potentially will be favorable. This lunation occurs in Virgo, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and short journeys so watch for something new which affects one of these areas. Expect some new insights that challenge your typical approach to problems or situations. If you're experiencing various issues with people close to you, these insights may prove exceptionally valuable in getting to the core issue or expanding your understanding, which could come through a key conversation with a friend or through a group activity. An unexpected change in your status may push you in an entirely different direction that you thought you were heading. Expanding your goals is favored as well as meeting new friends or increasing your group activities. Moving forward on something at a personal level may conflict with your home responsibilities. Examine your priorities closely to help you decide which ones belong at the top of the list. Jupiter goes retrograde on the 30th and will last until Christmas. Jupiter retrograde typically stirs up issues related to ethics or philosophical matters which will relate to your friends, group activities or goals. This can help you sort out those priorities and couple them with your goals in a beneficial way. Attaining balance in your life is of prime importance. Regardless of what demands may come your way, remember not to overload yourself such that you have a meltdown which won't benefit anyone. In other words, don't neglect yourself through all this and definitely don't go on a guilt trip if you can't meet all your obligations. |
