Lunations and Long Term Aspects The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. The Full Moon on August 13 is in Aquarius, your 11th house of friends, groups, networking, organizations, hopes, wishes and goals. This should bring a culmination, ending, or shift to a new phase to something in this part of your life. You may attain a goal or other milestone, complete a group project, or find that your association with a specific friend, group or organization has served its purpose with it time to move on. There are a few challenges associated with this lunation. Be on the lookout for a change or disruption associated with your boss or career which affects your homelife or represents an ending of some sort from which you need to start over, though the past is likely to hold you back in some way. On the positive side, in the long haul this should have a favorable effect on your finances. There's a lot of activity in your 5th house which comprises your ego definition, providing a good environment for getting to know some part of yourself better, or perhaps it will involve your children, romantic life, entertainment or speculative activities. However, these may also be competing against other things you want or need to do. The New Moon on August 28 is in Virgo, your 6th house of work and health, implying something new will be coming your way in this part of your life. A change of direction is likely, especially for those of you with birthdays between March 24 - 27. This is likely to come about suddenly or in a different way than expected and represent breaking free at a personal level. A conflict or challenge at home is likely to involve a close relationship and various responsibilities associated with it. Your temper is likely to be close to the surface these days as well. Old associations are likely to be fading away, perhaps imparting a feeling of instability to this part of your life. However, this lunation comes with numerous favorable aspects. If a new job is coming your way it is likely to have a beneficial effect on your finances. It may also include a complete renovation or change from what you've done in the past. Communicating what you want is favored as far as expressing what you want once this New Moon takes effect; prior to that, during the retrograde period, it will be more difficult to define what you want and come to agreement. Jupiter goes retrograde at the end of the month and will remain that way until Christmas. This occurs in Taurus, your 2nd house of possessions, finances, income, needs and pleasures. Jupiter RX typically stirs up issues that relate to ethics in some way. He is philosophical by nature as well as expansive. In your 2nd house this could bring about ruminations with regard to how you feel about your possessions and income and whether the price you're paying, literally or figuratively, is really worth it. If there is anything shady about any income opportunities these will be highlighted as well. |
