Aquarius Horoscope

This is a busy month astrologically with not only the usual two lunations but also a Grand Water Trine and Grand Sextile. You probably think that Grand Water Trine is yesterday's news but this one is different in that it involves three outer planets as Jupiter moves into position; up until now it has been Venus, Mercury and the Sun in that third position, which of course all move fairly quickly. Furthermore, they will all be in the same degree of their respective signs which strengthens its influence significantly. But more on that later. Let's take them in the order in which they'll occur, starting with the New Moon in Cancer on July 8.

Cancer is your 6th house of work, service, health and pets so watch for something new to come your way in this part of your life. It could be as simple as a new project at work, a service project, a visit to the doctor or perhaps a new pet. Mercury is still retrograde in that same sign which suggests redoing or rethinking something related to that part of your life. If your birthday is right around February 5 this New Moon will create a quincunx with your natal Sun which indicates a change of direction, adjustment or need to defend your position. There's a wide but viable T-square with this lunation that could put some obstacles in your path. Uranus, your modern sign ruler, is transiting your 3rd house which includes thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors. This is a time when you can come up with unique and innovative ideas and are likely to encounter interesting people and situations, especially involving your siblings or neighbors.

That ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto, however, may create a few conflicts. Pluto is in your 12th house of dreams, visions, spirituality, inspiration, enlightenment, institutions, seclusion, confinement, subconscious, hidden enemies and self-undoing which implies unresolved issues in that part of your life could cause some problems in those situations or perhaps even precipitate them. The New Moon is also involved in the T-square which indicates that your work may be involved as well or perhaps service involving one of your brothers, sisters, or neighbors. For example, something may come up in your neighborhood where someone needs some help but you have a problem with it that may have its roots in your subconscious. Pluto in the 12th could also be a hidden enemy, perhaps someone in a position of power or control. If this is the case, perhaps you'll come up with a million dollar idea at work but be sabotaged by your boss or someone higher. Thus, depending on your situation, either do some soul searching or watch your back until you figure out exactly what is going on.

Mars is unaspected in Gemini which makes him a bit of a wildcard in your 5th house of entertainment, ego definition, children, romance and speculation. This is sometimes referred to as the "fun house" so you may encounter some spontaneous events or initiate some yourself. It's the height of summer in the Northern Hemisphere which is well-suited for some fun. In the Southern half of the world where it's the middle of winter, it's likewise an appropriate time to do something enjoyable to get out of any winter doldrums you may be experiencing. If you're a typical Aquarius you have dozens of friends who would probably thoroughly enjoy an unexpected get-together.

Now for that Grand Trine, which has all three planets in the same degree on July 17. Jupiter and Mars are within two degrees of being conjunct which brings that Mars energy into play as well. As previously noted all planets are in Water Signs which provides a fairly heavy emotional impact. Neptune is in Pisces, your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs, pleasures and things you value. It has been said that Neptune is the planet that bring windfalls your way, probably because he is the planet that rules dreams and visions along the lines of visualizing what you want and drawing it to you. (Not to sound like a commercial, but the Secret of Deliberate Creation program by Dr. Robert Anthony (link above) can teach you to do just that. I am a big fan of his and have put his teachings to the test and found that they work.) Neptune rules Pisces so he's in dignity and able to operate to his full potential.

Jupiter is in Cancer, sign of his exaltation and your 6th house of work, health, service and pets as noted earlier. Jupiter is the modern ruler of your 11th house of groups, friends, networking, goals and hopes and wishes and traditional ruler of your 2nd house. This reinforces relaxing and getting together with some friends or coworkers. Mars in the loop implies you could be the initiator of this get-together which could have the ulterior motive of networking. Saturn, which has gratefully come out of retrograde the day before the New Moon, is your traditional sign ruler and in Scorpio, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. Saturn in this house implies working hard, being responsible and pursuing your goals in that venue, which also fits with some networking. If such an opportunity does not come your way on its own then it would be in your best interest to kick-start it with July 17 a good day to shoot for. All that said, there could be some opposition in making it happen but working your way through it is advised.

The Full Moon this month occurs on July 22 and is just barely in your sign. If your birthday is right around January 20 then it occurs conjunct your natal Sun, suggesting a culmination followed by an important new phase coming your way. That Grand Trine with all its implications is still in effect with Jupiter and Mars in partile conjunction, i.e. in the same degree. This pair is being opposed by Pluto, however, which could introduce a few old issues to resolve, either of your own or perhaps that hidden enemy. The energy flow emanates easily from a Grand Trine but there is some conflict lurking out there including that Uranus-Pluto square as well as what could be some gossip or information at work. Arguments or some form of resistance is possible. Venus is in an interesting position in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death, debt, shared resources and things you suppress. She rules your house of new beginnings, home environment, memories and cultural roots as well as your house of beliefs and expectations. Venus is in fall in Virgo, however, which can bury her good intentions in too much detail. Her opposition to Neptune has interesting implications given that Neptune is all about dreams and visions but also illusions. This could be a warning to watch your finances, not be delusional and avoid debt or it could bite you later. Approach any new expense with caution and balance what you want with what you can afford to get. This will require an adjustment at the emotional level but will be worth the effort.

Now a few words on that Grand Sextile you may have heard about which occurs on July 29/30, depending on which side of the International Dateline you're on. It involves seven planets and the Moon, all in Earth or Water signs which result in an even and favorable distribution and exchange of energy that in the chart resembles the facets of a cut gem. A sextile typically indicates an opportunity and there are now two grand trines which are also an easy flow of energy as noted earlier. But there are various other aspects in effect as well such as numerous oppositions. Oppositions indicate the need for balance and negotiations, perhaps due to being confronted with too much of a good thing and the need to choose and limit yourself. Another inherent characteristic of a Grand Sextile is that it includes two Mystic Rectangles which also denote the chance for something good but with the need for balance or making a choice, perhaps having to pick one where both alternatives have appeal but they're mutually exclusive. Surprises are likely and may try to block you from getting anything which is likely to be quite upsetting, should it occur. Nonetheless, there is a lot of positive energy in effect which you should try to harness as you choose. At the least, mark it on your calendar and pay attention to what happens at that time. Whatever your circumstances, take some time to ponder what is going on in your life when this occurs and how it may match up with the astrological implications.
